I actually have the Spectra S2 and neither of the funnels fit, I’ve tried them both. I don’t use a high vacuum level and still get too much areola in the funnel. Its a great pump I absolutely love the pump.
I am a first time mom and our baby is 5 weeks old. I selected the Spectra 1 when it’s time to return to work and have to start pumping. This video was so informative and helpful. No one has ever told me that women have more than one let down.
This has by far been the most informative and helpful tutorial on how to use my spectra s2. I'm not ready to pump yet as baby still hasn't arrived, but I can't wait to use these tips. :) Thank you so much!
Thank you soooo much for this video I learned so much, I just picked up my Spectra S1 baby is 4 months old and I’ve been pumping wrong! I’m so thankful I found your video and got my Spectra! ❤
This is the most helpful video I’ve seen so far! Thank you so much! I’m a soon to be mom that’s pretty scared of breast feeding but I want to do it very badly!
I’m glad you’ve found my video helpful. The key components to breastfeeding success are prenatal education and the right postpartum support. You got this and congratulations! All the best to you. :)
What a great video, I’m due in 12 days, and believe it or not my kids will be 18 years apart. my breastfeeding journey the first time around wasn’t as successful as I would’ve liked… this video was so helpful. Thank you
Omg I wish I would have watched this before I started using my pump! 😢 😢 I have been using the size 24 mm and I think I should have went up to the 28mm because now my right breast nipple has what looks like rug burn. I thought all the suction cups were the same size like you mentioned is a common issue. 😅😅😅😅You are a god send!!
Thank you so much for this informative video. Following the instructions that's some with it surely isn't thorough enough. My first go at it a few days ago didn't go so well. I am hopeful that with this video my next try with the Spectra 2 will be successful. Again, thank you. 😊
Hi. So i get confused, some moms tell me to just have baby latch, no pumping for the first 2 weeks. Others say keep pumping every 2 hrs. But im not really sure if baby is actually getting milk from latching. How do you know when baby is actually getting milk from breastfeeding? Im not sure if i see him actually swallow when he's latching.
Thank you for the video. I do not have a microwave. So most likely will use boiling water method to sterilize the parts. So do I boil the water, let it cool off for a few mins and then immerse the parts or place them into the boiling water, if yes - for how long?
Thanks for sharing! Quick question, I'm an overproducer should I be pumping every 2-3 hrs like my baby would feed? And then stop after I get the amount he eats? Or do I still pump until there's no more milk? Also can I combine to pump a couple times a day instead of every 2-4 hrs? Thanks!
I just used your video to set up my pump and pump for first time!!! I hope I did it right. When do you stop for the second let down? I think I stopped flowing but I wasn’t positive. And then by time I did that mode I was at 23 minutes so I powered it off after the let down and hand expressed. I collected like 3 ounces total and stayed at the 38 cycle setting and level 5 for most of the session. Anything I should have done differently? My baby latches most every time but sometimes we have issues. I use the Haaka a lot and collect almost an ounce every time but I wanted to incorporate the pump in case my supply wasn’t good. No idea what I’m doing really. I don’t plan to pump more than once a day in the morning just to keep things going. Does that sound about right for someone who has a good supply already with feeding baby? Thank you for your help you are AWESOME!
Cant I use this without plugging in to a receptacle? I mean if we have no private room to pump at work, is this still a good option or not? Will I be able to do it at work with charging it in advance?
Try following the steps on the video. Pause the video as many times as you need to until you feel more confident doing it by yourself. All the best to you!
Never wash it. Milk or any liquid should get to that part. But if it does try and get it dry and if you can’t get it dry without it having condensation then I would just replace that part
I appreciate this video, I see I have been using my pump incorrectly. I notice after pumping for a while I have to pull my skin back to make sure the milk is coming out of my.nipple. is that normal? Because of this I can't pump both at the same time and also because each of my breast requires a different flange size.
Hi. If you have a double electric pump, you can pump both breasts at the same time even when using different flange sizes. If too much areola is going into the flange tunnel, the sizing is not ideal.
The white colour valve should be plugged on while pumps in use with the bottle connected at the bottom. Or shall it be taken off ? Confused we are. Please help.
I started using spectra because of its gentle suction. Even on spectra i cant go beyond L01 vacuum, b cause i get pinching pain in my nipples. Im alrdy using 17mm insert after adjusting. The nipples do not rub on the side. And still i get the pain. I have not been able to pump more than 0-10ml. Ive played around with cycles. Ive used two to three letdowns, still not helping.
For the pinching issue … which I was having. I used nipple butter from lansinoh. It also allowed me to be able to use the a bit higher setting than what I am use to without it.

Yes! You can insert the bags inside the milk containers that come with your pump and screw them on like you would normally. After pumping, take the bags out and store following CDC guidelines. Hope this helps!
The only difference between S1 (blue color) and S2 (pink color) is that S1 has a rechargeable battery making it more portable whereas S2 needs to be plugged in to an wall outlet (but there is a hack to make it portable too, find hack video in my breast pump playlist). Both pumps can be used for single or double pumping. Hope this helps.

Felt very informative especially because my first pregnancy so felt clueless but this is very informative thank you!
I did a trial with my pump following the instructions for this video. I did the 2 min let down/massage mode then did about 8-10 min on 50 for sucks and 4 for strength of pull. I got about 3 oz. I’m nervous and excited to add pumping into our breastfeeding routine. Thanks for this video

I am a FTM, I exclusively breast pump due to latching problem. My baby is 48days old. I generally pump every 5-6 hours and I get minimum of 80ml from each breast, is it sufficient?? From past 2 days,I am trying to pump every 2-3 hours to increase my milk supply, but I am only getting 80-100ml in total from both the breasts. I use spectra S2 with massage mode for 2min in d beginning and switch to expression mode with 46cycle and level 11combo, increasing it to 54 cycle and level 11combo by the end of pumping. I pump for 30 minutes every time. From past 2 days, it’s very painful to pump even in low cycle of 38 and level 5. Am I doing it in right way??

The recommendation is minimum 8 times in a 24hr period.
Great video and tips! Perhaps a gentle tip would be to watch your fillers (okay?) which detracts from otherwise great content
IS EACH OF THE SPARES/ PARTS AVAILABLE SEPERATELY ?
I believe so
