Another metric that should be considered is the menu. Don Pepe has a huge menu that does not only include different sorts of Pizzas. They also have soups, salads, burgers, wraps, pastas, deserts and more. Also their Pizza dough selection is also quite broad as they not only have thin and thick crust, but also low carb, gluten free, and cauliflower dough (no idea what that is like). They have a monthly special cheap Pizza as well as a monthly special "crazy" pizza (I call them that because they have some extra ordinary toppings you rarely see at other places), some other special monthly items or burgers and a wide selection for vegan food (which I personally don't care about but if you are vegan, this place has you covered). So Don Pepe regarding menu variety is pretty huge. I think Pizza King has also quite a selection but honestly in my opinion their main shtick is being the "cheap" option. Pizza Forte and Pizza Me have quite decent Pizzas, but I found their menu in comparison to the others quite limited. I never really ordered or visited Il Treno, so I can't comment on their menu. Having said that we should keep in mind, those are fast food Pizzas like Dominos or Pizza Hut in other places. Naturally they can't compare to a proper Pizza restaurant ;)
Don Pepe indeed has grown from being just a Pizza place. I tried their Burger once and it was decent too, and their strange doughs like the one with beetroot is also interesting. For this video we mainly wanted to get back to the roots and focus on the plain old Pizza aspect :) It would be difficult to compare an italian thin dough pizza with a thick american style one to be honest, so we tried to keep it simple (which is why we also skipped on Pizza Hut, but thats everywhere around the world anyways :)). And of course proper Pizza restaurants have waaaaay better Pizzas, there are a few very good ones in town, really happy that many new "handcraft" Places are opening up lately with some tasty offerings :)
Ironically out of the five pizza places you showed in the video, we only had Pizza Me. It looked good, tasted good. It wasn’t spectacular. The one we liked the most was from Pizzica on Nagymező utca. Stay Fluffy! (Eric)
I have heard good things about that place. But this time we focused on fast food pizza chains. We for sure will check out other pizza places in Budapest like Pizzica 😊
@@StuffedCabbageAdventures Absolutely I do. From one of the best Napoletan pizza makers Type 00 flour 1 kg 650 mL of water 30 g salt 10 g sugar 2 g fresh yeast 25 g of olive oil Important thing to remember. Leave the dough covered at room temperature for 5-10 minutes. Max is 10 minutes,no more. Then fold the dough, cover it again and give it 20 hours of fermentation

Best pizza is the one you make at home with passata, basil, pecorino cheese and buffalo mozzarella
Yeah sure 😊 but sometimes you don't have time for that and need something quick 😊 got a good recipe for dough?
