the "charge stuns torb turret" is probably from when his turrets had levels, in which case it is actually a decent tip because that thing was devastating when left alone
in general thats probably why so many tips mention the turret even though today it's more of an annoyance and is only super dangerous against a few specific heroes
We need tips for every role: Tank: - Do not take unnecessary damage just because you are a tank. DPS: - Take angles and help your tank on taking space. Power positions are important. Support: - Be proactive with your CDs and damage. Healboting is not efficient.
Id argue the tank tip. You arguably want to soak damage with your armor pool as someone like Rein so that you can close distance most effectively. Using your armor to engage and then using shield maximizes your engagement. But someone like JQ or Hog doesnt wanna take poke
@@parajon Oh sure. But you are talking about "necessary" damage because you are contesting/fighting for space, there is a "reason". I am talking about those tanks that even without CDs just play in the open and consume everything from the backline.
I think the low ammo tip is easy to fix with a "make sure you have ammo to follow up your hooks." It can be very easy to land a hook then realize you forgot to reload.
I actually highly disagree with the idea that Mercy isn't always a Target. Any enemy team Mercy deserves to have everything that does damage pointed at them until they get sent back to Spawn, no questions asked.

when they use word "accurate" for projectiles they mean that the bullets go exactly where youre aiming at without bloom/spread deviation, the opposite of an accurate weapon would be lifeweaver due to spread or torb due to projectile arc drop
I’ve played Overwatch from noob all the way to top 500 without ever engaging with the tip system. Interesting exercise to see what devs think of their characters but ultimately useless to find ways to make the system better. Just watch Overwatch content.
Had no idea rein charge stuns the torb turret, can't even find anything about it on the wiki! That's gotta be the most useless interaction in the game lol
I think a lot of the input on valuable tips in here seem like they would be difficult to really tie to a trigger before the death. Most tips, I've found, typically relate to why you got killed and less often are "filler" tips. So the "how to play the character" tips seem like they wouldn't get the same level of use by the system
do we know who these tips appear for? for instance, does the "separate Junker Queen from her team" tip appear when the player is Mei vs JQ? cuz that would make some sense for the Mei player at least...
That Photon Barrier tip is most likely from Symm 2.0 when it was her E ability. Same goes for the Teleporter tips. It's been 6 years since we got this iteration of Symmetra and they haven't bothered to update them, I have to laugh.
Those tips might not actually be in rotation. They're in the files, but that doesn't mean they get used. It's pretty common to leave stuff like that in games.
The tip for Ashe about "you can detonate Dynamite immediately by shooting it" is referring to the mechanic where if you hold down your primary fire after you throw the dynamite, you will auto detonate it without having to move your crosshair to actually aim at the dynamite. This is very helpful for lower skilled players who may try to actively aim at the dynamite themselves and often miss it, and this tip just gives them an easy way to 100% guaranteed hit it as long as they don't move their aim after they throw the dynamite. Very helpful, but perhaps poorly worded. I'd mark it as a 3, and bump it up to a 4 if they word it better.
Imo the bap tips are so generic and so few, like from the top of my head i can think of better ones (would need to be reworded): - Baptiste can heal and damage and the same time, by following the shoot-shoot-heal rhythm. - Do not be afraid to use window selfishly. - Healing grenade has the same trajectory as immortality field, use this to improve your accuracy. - You can fire some healing grenades above your team before the fight starts to prepare heals. - When not moving, charge your exoboots to potentially evade enemy flankers / abilities or reposition if needed. - Healing grenade heals more on direct impact, and less on splash - Regen burst instant component heals twice as much when used on targets below half health.
Dota has good community guides that explain abilities. It would be cool if there were a place to inspect abilities with a little but of guiding words. Tort ellini (i mispelled his screen name) and Immortal Faith provide good insight and different perspectives into the build/ability guides in that community.
For me personally all tips I see work opposite to what they’d suppose to do haha . I play best when I have week or two off without watching any UA-cam guides. Then I have a blast

0:42 i love how that lines up with symmetras head

Yeah it used to happen to me alot when I first started playing
Tip! Whenever you respawn, tips are shown here
Tip! Pharah's ultimate ability can be used to instantly teleport back to your team's spawn room so you can type new strategy ideas to your teammates
Tip! Despite what some my think, Tracer is not dual wielding sniper rifles.
Tip! When you use fortify nothing can slow you down... except the developers
I actually highly disagree with the idea that Mercy isn't always a Target. Any enemy team Mercy deserves to have everything that does damage pointed at them until they get sent back to Spawn, no questions asked.
Bro I think I got a smell fetish because sniffing out dirty Mercys is always my priority. A spawn kill or two for good measure if I can.
The thumbnail though 😭

I do feel like you were a little too hard on the Bap tips, sure they're nothing amazing but I wouldn't put it in F tier
Written by someone who play only 20 games on all heroes lol
😭
Who only played 20 games total
Yeah some are kinda good but for the most part these are for when you just downloaded the game and some are so bad
My mans Spilo hair is sentient
I've literally never seen any of the tips before. I haven't turned them off, my brain just completely filters them out.
I never noticed these tips. Maybe that is why I am in bronze.
@spilo the Reaper wraith tip is telling you not to use your escape tool to go in. Im surprised you didn't get this or was there something I missed?
Edging to this thumbnail

I wish the tip system was alot more like rainbows. With in game video breakdowns of how to play the character

I've legit never read a single tip lol. But I guess for newcomers it might help a little.
Every time they say "accurate" im pretty sure they just mean "low spread"
The thumbnail makes me uncomfortable
I should ask my gf if she has ever paid attention to the tips (qp player probably around silver gold in level of play)
As a mostly qp gold player I ignore them. I was conditioned to assume these kinds of tips are bad after years of TF2 play lol.

The Junker Queen shout tip is also just wrong now. You can use shout mid ult or axe swing after the recent buff
When you see a roadhog at low health, be sure to kill him before he can use his take a breather
This tier list seems so random to me but also useful at the same time.
I wouldve loved to see Spilos reaction to all of these tips
I'll have to watch this again at .5 speed. sheesh
