especially since our best way of attacking Roman legions was to to flank them with Guerrilla tactics, I don't understand why this ever happened. I don't know the dates or anything, but Hadrians Wall was erected purely because of this fact. They couldn't deal with the hit and run tactics that we employed against the marching armies.
They put up the wall to try and just keep that nonsense away from them :D
It's pretty funny really. All powerful army, conquered most of the world. Gets to Newcastle and they get owned by a bunch of blue painted nutters riding ponies. Lol. We have some of the wall still about half an hours drive south of where I live. There's also the ruins of one of their Garrisons. I think there are much larder stretches of the wall to the west though. I remember going to see it when I was in School.

Had a german shepherd, with some wolf mixed in. I loved that it didn't show it's arsehole to the world, like all the pure doggos. Had it's tail low like a wolf. He liked to drag bigger animal bits from the butchery to our place and then howled for the neighbor dogs to come and feast along with him. Was great at dealing with other dogs that came at us aggressively. Went straight for the throat, and smaller ones he lifted up, shook and let go, bigger ones just took down on their side. All those dogs just turned around an walked away quietly afterwards.
