That video was made in early 2022, and the Steel Phalanx has undergone two re-works since then. I think that video largely stands up well, because the core of Old Steel Phalanx of myrmidons and heroes is still around. Still, use your judgment in that video when listening to stuff that's obviously out-dated

I feel like this helps teach a bit about different ways of working on a list, helpful for someone new and learning.

Hey, I am new to Infinity and startet with Operation blackwind. Additionally I got Achilles, Hector and the support pack with the Netrods.
Do you think I should get some of the old steel phalanx models or just get the new releases which come in the next few months (beyond blackwind, support pack, new drones pack, alpha and beta booster etc)?

It's largely about how OK you are with proxies, and how much you like the old SP models. The old stuff in particular can be extremely hard to find, or very expensive, or both. I personally love the look of the old stuff, so I'm delighted to use them when I can. On the other hand, if you're comfortable using (say) the Dactyl doctor as Machaon and an Agema (say) as Phoenix, then you don't need to go out and buy them
That said, I don't think you're going to be using a lot of the Blackwind / Beyond Blackwind / Support Pack stuff in Big-Boy style Steel Phalanx, except as proxies

@Bobby Brown I thought they might come back within the blackwind releases in form of alpha/beta booster packs etc

@@-Ambos- Yeah, I'm not as pessimistic about the range of models. It's true that a lot of the old models aren't made and can't be bought, but word on the street is that some heroes (Phoenix?) are getting re-released, while others have delightful proxies
For example, I currently use the Thermopylae skin for Aristeia's Maximus as my Ajax. It's awesome!

Do you ever play games live or always just on the computer. No one where i live plays this game

I started 100% virtually, basically because a handful of folks said they were keeping Infinity models where they used to have Netrunner stuff
I now play in person fairly often, but I highly recommend playing virtually. There are a lot of vibrant communities (e.g., this one: discord.gg/UwjDanmsDW), and honestly the game plays great online
...I don't have that many in-person Battle Reports cuz I'm not good at remembering to take pictures with my phone when I'm in person

Just wanted to suggest not putting Acmon in with Myrmidon. It’s costing the +1BS and +3 to discover. Makes a great Harris piece with Eudoros though.

On the attack, I find TacAware substantially more useful than +1BS
On the defense, if my list can handle it, I'll sometimes try to get a pure myrm team
If I desperately need to discover, I can always "accidentally" kick out Acmon to become pure, then reform

Just an FYI in case anyone sees this and wants to play Steel Phalanx. Unless you already own the models the sectorial is now defunct. CB killed the sectorial off and has no plans to ever support it further. Best of luck finding any of the critical pieces that make SP work.
