I was a waitress in a Cruise Line for 5 years and wanted to teach my students how to aproach the guests in a courteous way, with knowledge and simpathy
There are good things a new waiter can learn here! Off course not everything you see in a video is applicable in real situation. You pick what you think is right and apply it in your job!
40 years serving experience right here. What it comes down to is respect. As a waiter you want to earn your customers' respect. If you can't earn it with charisma or skills then you have to force it out of them: if that's the case, start by slamming a hand on the table and demanding silence. If silence isn't what follows, hold your guest by the neck and firmly smash his head on the table. This will most of the time do the job. Then move on to the next guests.
well, im a server myself so i can tell you it depends on what kind of restaurant youre working at, if your service is casual and voluminious this is not good, but if your service is fine dining, and personal i love the way they show it... gracias i loved the video
I used this Video to teach my students how to proceed in fine dining. They were applying for the waiter position on board of cruise ships. I was a waitress myself..
this lady's service is so good! Ive never experinced anything near as good in the UK. I must say though that this level of service is posible during a quiet period but would be virtually impossible when everyone arrives at the same time. If you put this much effort into service you would be knackered come the end of your shift and would certainly deserve at least double the pay of a uk Waitress/Waiter.
A guest will normally rage in anger if his food is delayed. He will throw glasses, assault the servers and throw the chairs around the dining room. This waitress is asking for troubles.

I did this for my classes in Brazil...But I´ll ty to activate them...Thank you...By the way when I was still on board I came to your Country on the Port of Nha Trang...I enjoyed the food very much
I am trying to understand why there are people moaning about the video. Well done Queli, I think it is great and at least you are doing something about it
+The Code See? I really don´t care about those coments. I posted this video intending to improve the service to my students Never understood why all those non sense coments .. :-p I'm glad you like it.. Thank you very much
I thought that you're very informative on the menu and know how to make the guests smile and relax. It is nice to know that you actually named each dish vocally when serving to the guests. These days some staff silently serve the dish to the guests and leave the guests to wonder whether they are getting the right food. For the past 10 years I noticed that many staff do not bother to remember what their own restaunrats or cafe are serving.. Please, remember the whole menu and be able to explain each dish and drinks. I used to do that when working for restaurants and cafe. In HK the quality of customer service have went down over this past 20 years. No pride in doing the job right. Many table staff don't even bother to check the order sheet before serving and they often serve the wrong dish to the wrong table. While the guests are eating they are usually chatting and joking with the other members of the staff or cheking iphone messages....haha. Sometime I feel like why not cut down the number of those lazy staff and let some robots do the job.
Well I think she offered Pork not Shrimp for the Entree before offering the Steak..... Seafoof is for the appetiser And this video is for instruction purposes only...I used to teach using it and explaining as long as the doubts come out.
Nice video but not practical in a realistic setting when you have 4 or 5 other tables to babysit. Just give them the greet and quick highlights then move onto the next table.
Good grief...are you a used car salesmen or a damn server? I am so turned off by the constant upsell attempts and would’ve asked you to just give us some alone time and let us decide what we’d like to order.
Imagine not caring and realize California is sensitive and racist when you tell them in two languages you do not understand and they still don't care... can't be black or white here no mas....
We serve guest from the right side, five hears were not enough for you, bad student, you pretend to be what you are not! wine suggestion was a disaster! Very average, not a reference! You make the setup befor the meal is served. You have to be professional and proud but all is missing.
Serving the drinks from the left and with the incorrect hand so that you reach across them...never good. Look how the guest has to move the drink to her right side. Most people are right handed. Also, the server points at items on the drink list with the index finger, another no-no. Food knowledge is good. Nice attempt to up-sell the shrimp with the salad. However, when the server took the lady's order she failed to state the minestrone soup wouldn't be an additional charge in lieu of a salad, or that soup was even an option. What if the gentleman wanted soup? She clears the appetizer and plates, great. Then serves the drinks from the incorrect side with the wrong hand. Same with the salads. Oh, finally, at the end, is there a mention about serving food from the left. Still no mention about serving drinks from the right, though... And yet another video in which someone mispronounces masCARpone.

it took her more than 6 minutes to take an order.. if the restaurant is busy, we will be in a big issue of delays and guests anger

When serving the lady, the waitress reached over her soup . No. No.
If the waitress had approached that first table any slower, the restaurant would have shut before the customers even ordered anything.
Congo rats.,you don't know satire lol
in one of the videos here they say that waiter should not ask costumers if they eat in the restaurant before ,am confuse now
Never had guests like that. And why offer shrimp for the steak when he already mentioned he is not fond of seafood.
Well I think she offered Pork not Shrimp for the Entree before offering the Steak.....
Seafoof is for the appetiser

I should have trained to be a server at 18 instead of the BOH at 16 y/o.
Its too complicated to become a server at 34.
Imagine not caring and realize California is sensitive and racist when you tell them in two languages you do not understand and they still don't care... can't be black or white here no mas....
