R.I.P Dennis Edwars, what a great voice !
Dennis gives such good interviews. He's a great storyteller, you can visualize everything he says.
WOW 😳 R.I.P🙏🦾
"The Dude."
My uncle Melvin Ragin aka Wah Wah Watson played the rhythm guitar in this and many classic records!!! He influenced so many with this one song!!! God bless you Unc and I still hear you on The radio! Job well done!!!!!!! RIP! B
Forever a Legend. Much Love for you Mr. Edwards :)
My favorite Temps hits were with Dennis during the Whitfield era
AND THE CRAZY THING , IS THAT SOME PEOPLE THOUGHT THAT THE GROUP HAD SEEN IT'S BEST DAYS BECAUSE SMOKEY WAS NO LONGER INVOLVED. THOSE PEOPLE WERE WRONG. WHITFIELD CHANGED THE SOUND, BUT THE GUYS NEVER SOUNDED BETTER.
agree
Dennis is my boy but they were Better whit David
Mr. Dennis Edwards... Thank, YOU, LORD, for the flavor in this brother's voice.
It's interesting to hear Dennis Edwards talk about the conflict and tension over Papa Was A Rolling Stone, especially considering how it was characterized in the movie I have also heard Dennis say that he was mad about how long the intro was and how long he had to wait to sing.....so by the time he finally came in he was simmering, which explained his lowered, tempered tone at the beginning. Regardless, it is a remarkable song.

One of the greatest singers in the world rip Dennis Edwards
The greatest
Classic shit Norman did his thing still inspiring producers like myself
a humble and unsung legend. his humility and lack of ego are what makes him so endearing.
RIP
Cool. When he sings the beginning of the song, "Papa was a Rolling Stone", yeah, he sounds so good! Ruffin was great and so was Dennis.
I believe it was Richard Street who sang the majority of that song, not Dennis Edwards.
@@heyitsablackguy9553 Dennis Edwards starts The song.
That magical voice
Dennis Edward’s
I've always been curios of the accuracy and inaccuracy of the movie. Thank you Dennis for clearing that part of the story up. I've also seen mixed accounts of the part where David Ruffin would show up and steal the mic from Dennis and sing his songs. This actually happened a few times and I've read that Dennis would be the one to invite him up on stage with them as opposed to David doing it uninvited, stealing the spotlight. I'd like to hear Dennis' version of that part of the story.
Dennis voice was fresh and in top notch in in 1972 he was great voice and musical he played the organ/piano. DPitts
The first song that the Temptations shared multi leads on was a unreleased track they recorded in 1967 called I'll Be Satisfied! As you listen to the song, Paul Williams sings the first verse then Eddie Kendricks and finally David Ruffin! I'll Be Satisfied was the forerunner for Cloud Nine!
SIP DENNIS.EDWARD..AND THE TEMPS.
My favorite Lead singer for the Temptations
We, love you Dennis
Dennis made his great move with the Temptations 2 years after I had moved away from Detroit in 1970. He was just great and personal while at Maules Lounge and living on Graitot St. my my 😀DPitts🤙🏾
MAULS LOUNGE !
Dennis Edwards became a Temptation in 1968 !
Mine too. You ain't never wrong
Norman Whitfield won Motown its FIRST Grammy and help to put Motown on the map. being there TOP Music Composer, Arranger, and Producer.
Dennis thought process was always on point when speaking all of that gift and talent is gone 😩😩 DPitts
"David didnt like the fact that he got replaced, even though he wanted to go solo, strange huh, lol."
It's not so strange for an egomaniac like David. Egotists like to reject, not be rejected.
The Tempts nor Sly was the first to do multiple leads, Curtis Mayfield and The Impressions did multiple leads.
Yes you are correct; to name a few: You're My Everything; Born to Love You; A Taste of Honey; and before David joined the group, Paul and Eddie shared
leads on a couple of songs. Finally, check out the "Meet the Temptations" Album.
I guess it's just wasn't the norm when the classic five Temptations were together because they did a number of songs where they switched off leads: Farewell My Love, You're My Everything and the unreleased We'll Be Satisfied on their Lost and Found album.
As Dennis said though it was revolutionary that each member would take "one line" then the next guy the next and the next guy the next after that instead of one guy singing a whole stanza before the next singer came in.
this is about what we feel like its about, grow up
RIParadise & SIHP
I learned something today...
I learned to swim @ Norms!!!
actually it was The Tempts, even though they actually did it before Sly,but once Sly did it,The Tempts switched to pretty much a multi-lead concept for lots of songs. I'm curious to know which songs the Impressions sang multi-leads on?
Tunes342 Norm Whitfield was infatuated w Sly. Whitfield even said he was trying to out Sly Sly. He wanted to match him horn by horn
dennis was always the best soul singer in the tempts. blew levi stubbs away during the motown celebration in the `80`s. heard ball of confusion with another lead singer on the wire but it wasn`t the same.
Willie Finn You don't know what the hell your talking about, Levi was IT!!
@@Steve-ti1cu he couldn't touch Dennis
Fine
i was stationed with dennis in munich ,germany and he had germany locked up with his band
Very humble, love Dennis. F Otis, lol
It is sad hos wife had a hand with his death rip dennis
Dennis Edwards David Ruffin Eddie kendricks Paul williams Melvin Franklin Otis williams and all the formal temps I would say maybe the greates of all time
I don't look at myself as some sort of God, but thanks for the compliment, haha
What's interesting, is Temptations and Supremes Danced while singing....The Beatles just stood there and tapped their feet.
No not really since the Beatles were too busy playing their instruments whilst singing, neither the temps or supremes played instruments.
THE Beatles still holds the record for the most #1songs on the Billboard Charts.
talk about over reacting, ok mr. youtube tough guy, you may continue flexing, dont hurt anybody, lol,
I see he done left that cocaine alone and picked up some weight.
As an idiot that you are,I had hoped that you could at least try to say something nice
