My father told me something after watching an episode of The Chosen (bible show of Jesus' life). EVERY person has an imperfection that is theirs. Each of us have to overcome that. He often says no because...just like our earthly parents...he sees and understands more than we do. And sometimes WE think the answer is no but in reality the yes just looks different than we expected...again because He knows best. and I LITERALLY had this discussion with my quiz kids yesterday about God giving you more than you can handle and told them exactly what you did.

This known adict used to hang out at a local diner, everyone knew him or knew of him and if it was really late and you needed to talk you coukd find him smoking cigarettes and drinking coffee at this diner. I was just at 2yrs clean and the first 6 months I was locked up, forced sobriety is easier cause what else can ya do lol. I was having a bad day and stopped in and went right over to Cookie, he instantly knew i was in recovery and having issues. He told me he was like 26yrs clean and I kinda sunk down and said well, im only 2yrs but i hope to get there. He said, 2yrs is harder than 26yrs. I didnt fully get that till a few yrs later when someone said they were "only" 2 months clean. It clicked instantly, so i said it back and told them to drop the only and that in a few yrs they would understand what I meant lol.

That quote always made me think, but as u said, God has a specific future planned for his elect, & that future may not happen if He intervened in some of our hardest times. He allows us to experience these things because sin has consequences (we can be spiritually forgiven upon repentance, but not from the earthly consequences from that sin). It's also how humans grow. Just like when u build muscle, u have to micro-tear it so it builds stronger, this is how our spirit works, also. Edit: wow, u just mentioned the same thing, respect. I promise i typed this before that part in ur video. Great minds think alike. 😜
Never been through hard addictions like all this but I've been through chemical dependence on Caffeine. Over time it began taking more, and more to get that exhilerating buzz. I had to be up to 3 22 oz. energy drinks per day to feel "normal" but the crashes came with feeling sick and irritable. That's when i realized i had to quit. 1st month, it's like my body forgot how to have any energy of its own from sleeping. I could only manage two hours awake before feeling like I'd been awake for 36. Keeping coherent thoughts together was crazy hard, and the headaches made me irritable ALL the time.
ngl when you talled about willpower and demons it helped me get a grip on my impulse control. I find it alot easier to exercise daily thanks to that little push

Nova didn't film "Mirrors", that was Adam's homeboy. When you get to the song "Cancer" by Tom, if you don't shed a tear even if it's a crocodile tear, I'd be amazed. We all got someone we know or family that have been wrecked by cancer the disease. Don't rush to it though, explore the catalog and do it for someone requesting it for a reason that way it means something. You got a long rabbit hole to travel so take your time.
I have a really tough time getting through that one. Cancer took my Mom, Grandmother, two Uncles, a very close friend, and a third Uncle is a survivor.
The guys who did Mirrors are Novas videography buds she said in a YT live. She produced it, arranged the location, time/date etc but said she needed to take a break from actual directing lol
God answers all its us that miss the answer in the way we see things the story about the guy saying god will take care of me ,and doesn't take every job opportunity that's given to him ,with him saying God will provide for me until God stopped and he now is homeless because he lost his apartment for not paying the rent,because God was trying to provide for him but he thought money was just gonna fall from the sky, so God answers all ,if it's as small as bringing someone into your life that helps you even a little.
Most often, I don't ask God to fix anything. I ask that he take that piece of straw that has pushed me past my ability to carry the wight. Like lord please I can handle the tenthousand pounds, but if that feather lands on me, I won't make it. I'm still here. God answers those prayers unless you need to crumble to learn something

I grew up in church and have always believed in God and had faith, even when I was using, I knew to much to try and justify it and I knew i was wrong. When you get to the song "Cancer" by Tom, if you don't shed a tear even if it's a crocodile tear, I'd be amazed. We all got someone we know or family that have been wrecked by cancer the disease.
Don't rush to it though, explore the catalog and do it for someone requesting it for a reason that way it means something.

I have a really tough time getting through that one. Cancer took my Mom, Grandmother, two Uncles, a very close friend, and a third Uncle is a survivor.

God answers all its us that miss the answer in the way we see things the story about the guy saying god will take care of me ,and doesn't take every job opportunity that's given to him ,with him saying God will provide for me until God stopped and he now is homeless because he lost his apartment for not paying the rent,because God was trying to provide for him but he thought money was just gonna fall from the sky, so God answers all ,if it's as small as bringing someone into your life that helps you even a little.

I grew up in church and have always believed in God and had faith, even when I was using, I knew to much to try and justify it and I knew i was wrong. I believe the answer to my mommas prayers for me was getting arrested lol cause it saved my life. Still though its hard sometimes when things happen and ya just dont get it. I Think i remember your first reaction where you thought you were a tom hater. this is proof that us HOG members try and tell people. that Tom is way more than politics and these are the songs that make the true fans. we love all the sides. also this collab album with tom, nova and brandon is my fave. its more musical than rappity rap

I'm currently on a path of trying to find God again after being lost for so long and since you're high on Christ, I'd love to see your opinion of Hopsin-Ill mind of Hopsin 7. It's kind of where I've been for the past few years but people are trying to put me back on the course and I've been listening to a lot of reactors and podcasts centered around Christ like George Janko, but haven't fully gotten there yet.
And if you listen to old stuff, I know Tom was in the same spot and I'm proud of him recently because based on a lot of his stuff over the past few years, it seems like he found faith.
