  • It's now Day 30 and Roberts is in Cairo and hungry to revisit this special place that he first visited 20 years ago. And this time there is a new major attraction the 'GEM'.
Most visitors to mysterious Egypt fly into Cairo, and from there you can see the great Egyptian Museum, The Sphinx, the Nile, the Pyramids of Giza and the. But Egypt is much more than Cairo and to get you full experience like the two times I have been there you need to get outside of just Cairo to see all the wonders of Ancient Egypt, where you will find some true treasures.
You’ll also find remote desert monasteries, romantic coastal resorts, once-drowned ancient temples and millennial masterpieces.
It was some 20 years in the making and cost billions of dollars, but the newest and biggest art museum on the planet is finally here! It’s the much vaunted debut for the art museums of the world, it’s the grand opening of the grand Egyptian Museum which opened in 2023 laying claim to being the biggest art museum in the entire world. When your countries show stopping attractions, that happen to be next door, are the great pyramids, it follows that you are going to need a museum that has the same ability to inspire awe.
The GEM as it’s known is an architectural miracle showcasing the finest examples of ancient and modern styles which came for the second largest architectural competition on earth.
    80DAYS Series
To the esteemed dreamers of this age and beyond, I stand before you at the culmination of a journey that has not merely spanned the globe, but also the vast landscapes of the human spirit
This is the whole 80 Episode series in sequence.
To the esteemed dreamers of this age and beyond, I stand before you at the culmination of a journey that has not merely spanned the globe, but also the vast landscapes of the human spirit
And now, as I stand at the threshold of this voyage's end, a mosaic of cities and faces etched into the fabric of my being, I reflect upon the grand tapestry that I have had the privilege to weave. From the sun-kissed shores of Sydney to the historical tapestry of London, traversing the rich landscapes of Europe, the timeless majesty of Egypt, the vibrant heartbeat of India, through the steaming jungles of Southeast Asia, ascending to the technological marvels of Japan, and spanning the vast oceans to the dreamscapes of America-I have not raced against time, but rather danced with it, capturing the pulse of the remarkable peoples of Earth on film.
This odyssey, was crafted in the shadow of Jules Verne's immortal prose ‘Around the World in 80 Days’, but more than a nod to literary genius-it is an homage to the insatiable human thirst for discovery. A thirst some poetically inclined termed ‘Wanderlust’.
Jules Verne, the maestro of imagination, once penned a tale that transcended the boundaries of his time, instilling dreams of circumnavigation in the hearts of many. It was 1872 ! Around the World in Eighty Days' is not a mere flight of fancy, but rather a testament to the indomitable spirit of adventure that dwells within us all-embodied by the iconic Phileas Fogg, a gentleman whose clockwork precision belied a heart capable of untold depths.
In my grand narrative of no less than 80 episodes, the world unfolds as a tapestry of cultures and wonders, we are reminded that the true wealth of life is not in the jingle of coins or the accolades of society. It is in the bonds we forge, the love that we kindle amidst the whirlwind of our pursuits.
    Humbly yours in Wanderlust,
    Paul G Roberts
