- In this video I shortened the transmission isolator studs to prevent any trail damage. I found this tool on Amazon. I used the Outer Reamer tool to bevel the cut studs in order to be able to get the nuts back on if need be and extra clearance.

Geez Danny, thanks for adding another detail to my to-do list 🤣 But seriously, nice little solution to that feature.
Hehe! Your welcome.
Thank you for sharing. Hope you are doing well. I'm still working on my 80. Maybe we can meet up at my mountain ⛰️ property this year in August or September. Lots of gold prospecting. Lots of fun.
Thank you. Definitely! Prospecting is always fun.
That oil still looked really clean. When did you change it last?
Last changed was about 2700 miles ago. Part of my pre-trip things I do no matter what. If going on a 1k+ trip it’ll get changed. Dusty is spoiled
So hand tight for you is like wrenched for me. 😊 some guys swear by 15 40 diesel oil, but you have a lot less miles than most. I’m at 250k, and thinking about trying out the 15 40. Mine drinks about 1/2 a quart every 3,000 miles. Have a small leak at rear main though.
I’ve heard of guys running diesel oil in these trucks as well, what ever works is best. Replacing the rear main seal is a big job. I did my leaky seal approximately 10k. ago.
@@trackcalledquest Yeah, rear main is too big a job for me. I’ll need to save up and get it done by a good wrench. I’ve already bought the 15 40. I’ll drop it in and see. i still use the Toyota oil filters. I remember seeing a video on a Toyota channel, Car Care Nut I think. He got me convinced to stick with those.
Looks great, how many miles do you have on your truck?
188K on the ticker.
Just getting broken in! Wow such a low mile truck. Rare gem.
What motor oil do you run? Those over sized K&N are nice, I use the same one.
I run Cerma 10-30 motor oil. Top notch oil made in the U.S.A out of Texas. Real good stuff.
@@trackcalledquest Haven’t heard of them may give it a try. Thanks
