Just purchased mines yesterday. You are very right about the gas side. Heats up very quick. I'm new to gas as I have always used charcoal but everything came out nice and good.
I have a Sunbeam dual pancake with side burner that is about 25 years old and with a little maintenance it is still like new. I never run the propane higher than low either because with most burners any thing higher without watching and you have a crematorium instead. I always use lava rock as well. My neighbor got one of these a few years after making one out of a upright 55 gallon drum. It had a big cooking area from 3 racks. I thought about getting one of these, but I don't see it being usable as a jerky smoker, like the little chief. Although it might be better than the brinkman water grill/smoker I have. Those cast grates worry me as I have heard they can break. I once thought about making one out of a fire proof filing cabinet; talk about heavy. I do honestly think the thick gauge aluminum gas grills always outlast the tin can ones that are more prevalent now. I can always make my own.
One thing I noticed was your smoke stack is installed incorrectly. Should be installed from the inside. This will give you a tighter seal around the smokestack.
gotta be from pa with the yueling beer and scenic views. is that grill on a covered porch. any worries about it catching in the porch on fire? nice video
Thanks!! Yep I'm south of Pittsburgh. Yeah my porch is covered and I still feel really safe and comfortable that the porch won't catch fire. Gonna be soaking some brats in that famous beer tomorrow!!

Nice view.
Beautiful backyard view!!!
Thanks but actually that's my front yard. I still have zero regrets on purchasing this. I just wish I had more time to use it more.
Hello can you adjust the charcoal hight for temp control
christopher abela - No you can't. Gotta use the air flow to control temp.
