To clear some things up: 1.) On heavy multi-dotting encounters (lady deathwhisper, lichking 25heroic...) you WILL go oom without the focussed mind talent 2.) Glyph Dispersion is a must-have for lk 25 heroic 3.) As far as i know, shadow weaving (and all other effects) on shadow-word pain gets automatically updated on mindflay-cast, no nead to snapshot 4.) Casting results in a small "CD" on your autoattacks, so 99% of the time, you will not get an autoattack off, unless you do 2-3 GCD-Spells
why do you need glyph of dispersion? with it 1 priest can tank spirits every time. But 95% of icc HC runs will have 2 shadow priests and off tanks job is to tank that damage not shadow priests. And with glyph of mind seer you do more aoe damage to dps valkiers in PH 2. and in RS hc too
@@arturasmarma525 mind sear is only ramge, not dmg. 1 Shadow Priest can NOT soak all spirits in p3, you need 2 for the phases with 2 soaks (for example after the 2. Grab/frostmourne)

Nice video i only wamt to point out on shadow world:pain ---> as u said its keep the damage thats include crit and sp as well , 1. soo u always pre -potion everyfight with wild magic for more crit and sp for 15sec . 2 u actually wait till most spell power procc on you under 15sec(till wild magic up) into the fight like : tailoring back enchant , icc ring and trinkets which all increase spell power. I play spriest as well and sometimes i just wait 10-11sec into the fight for more spell power procc and then use my SWP.

Remember to use [nochanneling] macro only if you have below 100 ms of latency, otherwise its dps loss as macro conditionals works client side and even though your mind flay channel was complete on server, your client still thinks its channeling and does not let you transmit new cast of mindflay for atleast *YOUR LATENCY * milliseconds. That is the whole reason to install Quartz like channel mods to know when to cast spells in advance so that you send early casts even though they are not finished. Plus you might wanna know about addon named "Event Horizon" to make sure you never clip your dots and they are always up on target, plus it lets you know when to start casting clippable dot so it gets applied right when old dot is expired and not after its respective casting time. Overall very informative and thorough guide. Kudos to you.
It's not useless. If you want to truly max out your dps you have to pay attention to decimal seconds of your dots and if there is not enough time before refreshing for a full mind flay it's better to use mind blast. Another thing I've noticed in AwbeeX57's video that he doesn't interrupt mind flay when dots are already gone. It's good to have an addon that shows when particular mind flay ticks happen on your cast bar (like Quartz) so when you're channeling mind flay and you see that vampiric touch is about to expire - you wait for example for the 2nd tick of flay and start casting VT to hit the perfect spot for refreshing it. It may sound odd but it's a good practice to interrupt those mind flays, takes time to master tho.
BLT for raid cds, Grid for raid UI, MSBT for dmg numbers, NTK for the timer bars aaaand thats it rlly got some other minor ones, you can find them all in my Discord, they won't work for Classic WoW though :)
You're actually losing a little bit of DPS/damage at the start of your rotation as you're using your first Mind Flay without SW:P on the target, because of the Twisted Faith talent. Though, you'll have to reapply your SW:P after you have your Shadow Weaving stacked up. Also, you're better off not casting MF, if you cannot use its full cast time, when you're about to refresh Vampiric Touch (1.3-1.4s of your VT remaining on the target). It's better to use Mind Blast in that situation, because not using all of the MF ticks is considered a DPS loss.
Nah man, in no situation would i ever use Mind blast over mind flay, if it doesn't crit it does less then 1 tick of mind flay, its garbage once T10 is attained, also if you're reapplying your shadow word: pain after 3 gcds to stack shadow weaving you're absolutely loosing the snapcasting effect i was talking about.

I currently play in Warmane but in Lordaeron Realm .. and i have a huge question to ask about gear... I really enjoy spriest and i have 5.5 gs atm with full T10 but i have problems with haste cap.. I've read a lot of guides, watch a lot of videos but still I can't understand how do reach 1200 haste .. Like i said i have full T10 but my haste is only 700... so I have no idea how to reach 1200.. I believe my problem is with gems.. since in all guides say to use the gem colour that matches the socked colour, but in this video u never mention using yellow gems which gives haste.. you only mention using red + blue gems... so now i am even MORE confused.. I was thinking in regeming ALL my items to gem only with +20 haste but now I don't know if this is a good idea or not :(:..... please help me with that :(
Yeah this is al super bis where you can forget about 20 haste gems and focus on 12 SP 10 haste, if you need more haste ofcourse put 20 haste in your yellows, just don't put 20 haste in your reds and make sure your meta gem is activated.

Engineering + JC or Engi + Tailoring, tailoring being the cheaper one and easier to get without mining if thats the issue, also its a lil more focused on burst.
Yeah, The SP bonus is really good from Tailoring, but it is on a CD, if it procs at the wrong moment (usually later into the fight then the start..) you wont get much value out of it, whereas JC is a steady profit, Tailoring is a gambit that can pay off, especially in the hands of a skilled player who tracks his internal cooldowns.

Couldn't you hold your first inner focus for a super Shadow Word: Pain to give it the +25% crit for the entire fight? As I believe it can crit when you are in shadow form
@@Kronosxviii1 You can try it ofcourse, the times ive tried it i didn't notice a 25% increase in crit, so i'll stick to mind flaying with IFocus untill someone proves me otherwise.
i've tried this out as well (among other things regarding sw:p) and although u are right when it comes to the snapshot part - its not worth to waste IF on it. I'd suggest u either do it on VT or MF when all cds are up (including BL)

i am doing the rotation right on my spriest but i am always outdps-ed by other class that has lower gs than me. btw i am still using t9 parts and some frost emblem gears (from my disc spec) but it concerns me because i can't know for the love of me what am i doing wrong. is there a minimum haste or crit should i reach to do huge numbers? my haste is sitting at 800+ but i don't know how to make it higher.
When you get T10 and you can drop Mind Blast from your rotation you'll see a significant spike in DPS, Shadow priest is also not ment to be top DPS due to the amazing utility we provide, if you can be the best shadow priest you've ever seen it's enough, don't try to fight the top DPS classes unless you have a skill gap between you and them.

Thanks for the guide, pretty awesome, but as I am new in the shadow priest, I really would like to know about full talent tree, and 2 or more target dps since there is a lot of privet servers out there but not all of them have icc yet, so more general thing would be handy. Maybe its just me personaly, but as like I mentioned there are more wotlk private servers that are not in icc patch yet, so I am missing all the general wotlk guides that are valid for generaly on wotlk. /cast Dispersion /cancelaura Dispersion just slap it twice, once for activation, 2nd for de-activation, be careful not to stress yourself out and double tap it.
With Tier 10 4 set, Mind flay becomes so strong that it is not worth it to use Mind Blast anymore, you can put it in the rotation if you use it on a Vampiric Touched mob to give the raid Replenishment, but besides that mind flay > mind blast.
@@AwbeeX57 Do you have concrete numbers to prove that? My calculations in DrDamage say otherwise, and that is with a 6.2k gs sp. Only when you have tons of spell power stacked and bloodlust running is where Flay > blast, in most other cases it does 100 to 400 dps more with my set up (1265 haste)
@@Kelthoras1 , I'm questioning this as well. Do they scale differently with SP? With tier 10 4 piece before haste and SP, Mind Flay is a 2.49 sec. channel that does 588 damage. Per second, that is approximately 235.2 damage and adding in the 10% bonus from the glyph means 258.72 damage per sec. Mind blast before haste and SP is a 1.5 sec. cast and does 992-1048 damage. Per second that is 661.3-698.6 damage. Even the lowest amount 661.3 DPS > 258.72 DPS. All talents that effect the damage of either do the same effect to both. So what am I missing?
@@ravs9050 Wild Magic works indeed, but Inner Focus wont make your next dot a crit, rather your next cast. Tbh most value out of it is MF but i usually hold it up for incase i need to use Divine Hymn.
Please show us the tricks about mind flay timing. It's the only part that was really useful but yet it was cut out:( that trick is the difference between 18k dps and 16k dps
Engineering + JC or Engineering + Tailoring, both are very good JC is a more stable stat gain while Tailoring gives you a nice burst from the cloak enchant.
Recommending people to use nochanneling macros is terrible advice. It's a huge DPS loss. With no channeling macros you're using the client side cast time and don't get the server side compensation, and there's no native spell queueing in pre 4.0 wow. You have to manually time your casts, especially channeled spells like MindFlay where you could risk clipping it. The number one tip, more valuable than your 18 minute video, is to get an addon to display your latency in or near your castbar and time your casts so they align with the server timing. By spamming a nochanneling MF macro you lose between 25 and 150ms per cast, depending on latency. Even if you have a fucking autoclicker pressing the macro 2000 times a second. Not trying to be rude, just saying.
I looked it up, and most humans can't react below 200 ms which is lower than what you would lose using a nochanneling macro. Professional gamers I hear can reach about 150 ms. This also wouldn't account for human error, and mistiming it and clipping a cast would negate any potential damage increase. I have tested both for myself and did better with a nochanneling macro. Try it for yourself and see what you come up with.

@@AwbeeX57 I thought letting dots drop was a bad idea? I thought dots 'snapshot' your current (at the time you cast) So/haste/crit, so applying them when you have a trinket proc/potion active and keeping the dot up as long as possible was optimal?.
GCD mate, maybe pre shield before fight starts but you definitely dont shield yourself or anyone else midfight, better just provide the offhealing to your group by DPSing.
Is Mind blast always left out of the rotation or is it just with certain gear? We currently have ulduar on Frostmourne and my gear is around 3.5GS. Should skip mind blast and just spam mind flay?
I geared with SP in red, Sp / Haste in yellows and Sp/ Spirit in blues, Not sure if thats the correct way though, if you feel lacking in haste you could put pure haste in yellows till it feels good.
@@AwbeeX57 its better to precast in last 3rd part of mindflay cast so you dont have downtime. If you use macro you have allways downtime around 0.1sec for each mindflay.
@@marksucks9346 if you precast you'll miss the tick of the 3rd part of mindflay, removing 1/3rd of your damage. If you get Quartz cast bar you can see your damage ticks in the cast bar, after the 2nd tick you can swap over to VT or DP if needed. Macro only makes it so you get all 3 ticks consistently, no dps loss about it.
@@AwbeeX57 that means you put zero points into Improved Mind Blast but 5points into Shadow Affinity/Improved Physic Scream? Besides, what about Replenishment triggered by Mind Blast? its a "Win-Win Situation" Buff! ... sry, forgot the "20% reduced healing on target/10sec" buff.
The CC is nice, replenishment is good to have for RS25HC, less CD on mindblast won't matter there since you'll be too busy dotting/searing anyway. As far as the healing reduction is concerned, it actually makes you more of a nuisance to deal with on LDW HC, having CC for others mind control would make you generally better on LDW HC.
@@AwbeeX57 last but least, when I understood it right you combine inner focus with mind flay because of mana reduction and ignore the 25% crit chance of inner focus because crit never effected mind flay either until now. (Version 3.4.0. phase 1 of wotlk classic)

It resets on every mind flay so that "Super SWP" is gonna last for about 4 seconds :p

Yeah, Berserking is a crazy racial for Shadow, If i was horde my priest would be a Troll, like many of my characters would be trolls.

Easiest spec to play in WoTLK is the Marksman Hunter. Easy and basic.
So you don't even use MB in early Naxx? Cus i can't find a guide for Spriest in T7 stage on Frostmourne
You use mindblast when you dont have the T10 4 set bonus, mind blast is good for any other tier, T1-9 basically.

How much of a DPS increase do you think it would be going Troll Vs undead or Blood elf on Horde?
Troll is insane for pve, its huge. undead doesn't give any DPS increase (unless there is a Fear effect on a fight) and neither does Blood Elf.

I wouldnt, you can keep frozen bonespike in ur bags untill you get 1400+ haste with king terenas mace, then you can swap it out.

When you got T10 4 set mind flay spam is better, before that mind blast is good, don't forget to use mind blast on VT if no1 is giving Replenishment.

i am doing the rotation right on my spriest but i am always outdps-ed by other class that has lower gs than me. btw i am still using t9 parts and some frost emblem gears (from my disc spec) but it concerns me because i can't know for the love of me what am i doing wrong. is there a minimum haste or crit should i reach to do huge numbers? my haste is sitting at 800+ but i don't know how to make it higher.
When you get T10 and you can drop Mind Blast from your rotation you'll see a significant spike in DPS, Shadow priest is also not ment to be top DPS due to the amazing utility we provide, if you can be the best shadow priest you've ever seen it's enough, don't try to fight the top DPS classes unless you have a skill gap between you and them.
You are playing a support class, you probably aren't doing anything wrong Shadowpriests aren't meant to do top tier competitive dps.

Maybe its just me personaly, but as like I mentioned there are more wotlk private servers that are not in icc patch yet, so I am missing all the general wotlk guides that are valid for generaly on wotlk.

Why not you use mind blast??
With Tier 10 4 set, Mind flay becomes so strong that it is not worth it to use Mind Blast anymore, you can put it in the rotation if you use it on a Vampiric Touched mob to give the raid Replenishment, but besides that mind flay > mind blast.
@@AwbeeX57 Do you have concrete numbers to prove that? My calculations in DrDamage say otherwise, and that is with a 6.2k gs sp. Only when you have tons of spell power stacked and bloodlust running is where Flay > blast, in most other cases it does 100 to 400 dps more with my set up (1265 haste)

@@Kelthoras1 , I'm questioning this as well. Do they scale differently with SP? With tier 10 4 piece before haste and SP, Mind Flay is a 2.49 sec. channel that does 588 damage. Per second, that is approximately 235.2 damage and adding in the 10% bonus from the glyph means 258.72 damage per sec.
Mind blast before haste and SP is a 1.5 sec. cast and does 992-1048 damage. Per second that is 661.3-698.6 damage.
Even the lowest amount 661.3 DPS > 258.72 DPS. All talents that effect the damage of either do the same effect to both. So what am I missing?

With the T10 4Set you can skip out on Mind Blasting and instead go for Mind Flays.
Is this a good idea to use inner focus with shadow word pain, coz of snapshotting.
I prefer using it on Mind Flay, im not sure if the crit chance gets added to the DoT, if it does it would be insane.

@@ravs9050 Wild Magic works indeed, but Inner Focus wont make your next dot a crit, rather your next cast. Tbh most value out of it is MF but i usually hold it up for incase i need to use Divine Hymn.

Engineering + JC or Engineering + Tailoring, both are very good
JC is a more stable stat gain while Tailoring gives you a nice burst from the cloak enchant.
What does it mean to "time" the mind flay?
you gotta minimize the time that you aren't casting, you'll get a feel of the GCD when you play spriest, its very obvious once you feel it :)

Recommending people to use nochanneling macros is terrible advice. It's a huge DPS loss.
With no channeling macros you're using the client side cast time and don't get the server side compensation, and there's no native spell queueing in pre 4.0 wow. You have to manually time your casts, especially channeled spells like MindFlay where you could risk clipping it. The number one tip, more valuable than your 18 minute video, is to get an addon to display your latency in or near your castbar and time your casts so they align with the server timing. By spamming a nochanneling MF macro you lose between 25 and 150ms per cast, depending on latency. Even if you have a fucking autoclicker pressing the macro 2000 times a second. Not trying to be rude, just saying.
I looked it up, and most humans can't react below 200 ms which is lower than what you would lose using a nochanneling macro. Professional gamers I hear can reach about 150 ms. This also wouldn't account for human error, and mistiming it and clipping a cast would negate any potential damage increase. I have tested both for myself and did better with a nochanneling macro. Try it for yourself and see what you come up with.

I think you missed the shield. In shadow form we shield people and ourselves without interrupting our rotation at all.
GCD mate, maybe pre shield before fight starts but you definitely dont shield yourself or anyone else midfight, better just provide the offhealing to your group by DPSing.

I geared with SP in red, Sp / Haste in yellows and Sp/ Spirit in blues, Not sure if thats the correct way though, if you feel lacking in haste you could put pure haste in yellows till it feels good.

@@AwbeeX57 its better to precast in last 3rd part of mindflay cast so you dont have downtime. If you use macro you have allways downtime around 0.1sec for each mindflay.
@@marksucks9346 if you precast you'll miss the tick of the 3rd part of mindflay, removing 1/3rd of your damage.
If you get Quartz cast bar you can see your damage ticks in the cast bar, after the 2nd tick you can swap over to VT or DP if needed.
Macro only makes it so you get all 3 ticks consistently, no dps loss about it.

The CC is nice, replenishment is good to have for RS25HC, less CD on mindblast won't matter there since you'll be too busy dotting/searing anyway.
As far as the healing reduction is concerned, it actually makes you more of a nuisance to deal with on LDW HC, having CC for others mind control would make you generally better on LDW HC.
@@AwbeeX57 last but least, when I understood it right you combine inner focus with mind flay because of mana reduction and ignore the 25% crit chance of inner focus because crit never effected mind flay either until now. (Version 3.4.0. phase 1 of wotlk classic)
