Hey All, I hope you enjoy the video! I got an update from Alexa and her father and they got the watch back and she loves it! As a reminder, I do not solicit through youtube comments, so if anyone contacts you via the comments here it's not coming from me, so please disregard and report! Thanks! Marshall
Hi Marshall, love your channel. Your channel made get interested in vintage watches and watch repair. I find myself in a very stressing situation now. I recently acquired a Seiko bellmatic. I noticed the dial had some dust on it, so I wanted to clean it up. I was having difficulties removing the alarm button and thought that maybe the rotor was in the way of a lever. However, when I tries to remove it, I instead removed the screws of alarm plate and bump the wheels out of place. I believe fixing it goes far beyond my ability. I was wondering if you would be interested on it. I have asked watch repair places and they are not interested in working on it since it's a vintage watch.
You get many comments on the 'watchmaking', but few seem to appreciate the camera work that goes into these videos! The angles you use, the close ups allowing us to witness in real time what you are doing, the narrative, the end edit, often using 'before' and 'after' shots after getting a replacement part in an instant - sheer genius, thank you Marshall...
"...and there we broke the irreplaceable hair-spring on this antique movement, a happy accident indeed. It will just become a part of this watch's unique characteristic. I shall now clean the brittle dial up a bit, and all I do is take it to the edge of the table and just beat the devil out of it. Makes go off all your frustrations in life..."
This young viewer is going to treasure this watch forever! She not only gets a fantastic time piece but also a video she can watch and show her friends. How cool is that?!

Marshall, you seem to be underestimating your channel. My daughter and I watch it regularly and are always very excited when a new movie comes out. She is 7 years old. And today she was even more happy when she found out that there is a similar girl out there who watches your channel with her dad. Thank you very much and best regards.
I'm 16 and have recently started getting into watches and watchmaking. UA-camrs like you truly help the process and open the door for this complicated world. I appreciate what you do, thank you Marshall!
You should not watch these videos as educational. He has terrible habits and sometimes just straight mistakes that would never pass quality control at either a basic watchmaking school or service center. Hobbyists are just that. They do it for fun, but its not of any quality.
@@antonsugar2535 Really? He seems to be a professional, I mean he has all the tools, boxes, cleaners, handles the watches with care etc. What is he actually doing wrong?

I was waiting for you to say that you would send it back to her. She will forever treasure this gift. You will give her a lifetime memory to cherish and share with her father. Keep up the great work.
I just wanted to say thank you for your videos. It’s not that I’m particularly into watches or restoring them, but your videos are really calming to me and I love watching them
I believe I've finally figured out what makes your videos so alluring. The fact that you have the ability to show your audience a process that is very tedious and frustrating to many, all the while showing us how to handle each unique situation with the patience and grace that such situations require. It's a simple recipe that you have nailed! Not to mention your obvious knowledge and skills with your cameras and editing, to which I have no idea.
my eldest daughter (8yrs old) and I enjoy watchin your channel. its relaxing, its informative and we watch in silence as we are mesmerized by how you work on a watch.
I love the fact you often start replacing a screw by going in the 'wrong' direction initially to get the thread to align correctly. Shows great mechanical 'sympathy' and aligns with your other mechanical history. I was hoping you would send it back and hope the young recipient of it appreciates it and bookmarks this video. Always a pleasure to watch. It is unusual today that anyone will watch a 46-60 minute video but I find these mesmerising. Well done.
We use this method in hanging TVs when we’re using snaptoggle drywall anchors, because if you misthread it it will break the apparatus off in the wall and will waste you several minutes cause then you have to take the whole bracket down and redo them… it was really cool to see him do it and kind of catch that, cause I used to be the least mechanically inclined person in the world before I started doing home theater install work and learned a ton of stuff and interesting to see other pros use some tricks of the trades.
I can listen to you all day. Your camera work is underrated. You are one of the few people that can resonate the true positivity through video. Thank you so much!!!
I think you nailed it when you were talking about watching shows that you learn from. That's what so interesting. Whether it be watchmaking, engine rebuilding, steel making or how to bake a cake. Watching someone who's mastered their art and craft is very alluring.

I'm convinced that the success of your channel depends on your passionate and sympathetic way of explaining what you do and why you love your hobby. Your taste for quirky and fun time pieces just makes it even more interesting. So many thanks for your brilliant videos.
These days I cant find anyone to change the battery in my watch! So much for Sears watch repairs!! The other day, I found a clock my mother had that had a boy and a girl swinging in it! It didn't work, so I replaced the end on the cord and "works like a charm!" Brought back fond memories!!!!
I am always just facinated watching you work on these things. A 40 min vid is nothing, and seems to fly right by. How cool for Alexa to be able to see something she now has, in this video format. To see how it all was broken down, cleaned up and put back together.

Love your voice Marshal, it’s real soothing and enjoyable to listen to your descriptions. You are, as another viewer stated, The Bob Ross of watches. I’m now addicted to your vids.
Hello Mr. Marshall, I like your way of essembling and disassembling the old watches especially your comments while working on a watch. I'm enjoying it. I'm from Holland.
Marshal , I really like that you made that watch absolutely beautiful and sent it back to them . Your a good man . If only everyone in the world had the compassion and all around attention to detail that you have . The world would be a better place . Pay it forward. Give back when you can . Even the smallest gesture can make someone’s day . Thanks for all you do !
What I can't understand is how this guy can remember the places of all the bits and pieces he takes off, when he puts them back on again. Brilliant channel anyhow. I think watching this stuff at least once should be compulsory for all kids, say from the first to the twelfth grade. So much to learn about patience, dedication, and technology. And, I must say, this guy Marshall really marshals them tiny bits.
Out of all the watches you come across, what is your daily wear? I still rock my great great grandfather's 1917-18 rolex. He lived to 95 and gave it to me when I turned 8. I know I shouldn't daily it but all I have to do is look at my wrist to know the time accurately and remember what he went through to be able to even give it to me, he was an incredible man and I'm blessed to have a constant reminder of what he endured in ww1. Keep keeping the past alive for more generations!
By far the most professional channel. And when it comes to the topic of the channel, when it comes to video quality and when it comes to presentation. My respect.
That turned out great 👍 awesome to see younger people having a interest in stuff like this. I'm sure she will love the restored watch ⌚️ excellent work 👏
Marshal The absolute best watch revival channel on You Tube. I can watch and listen for hours. Your narration and explanation is spot on and you make every video as if it were the first time someone is watching. I know this must be repetitive for you but it is greatly appreciated. I introduced your channel to my son and he loves it as well. He was laughing at me because I was telling him all the names of the parts as you were assembling the pieces lol I am enjoying the education. Keep up the great content
This is a hilarious side effect of watching this channel, pretty soon you know your cannon pinion from your barrel arbor and you wonder how and why... 😂😅
Great work as always, so thank you very much Marshall. The 10-year-old viewer must be really exited to get such a beautiful watch and a video to go along with it. Very kind and generous of you.
I love watching you for the same reasons Alexa does! Watching something as amazing and intricate as watch works get dis and re assembled is utterly fascinating. Your commentary about what does what and why makes this wonderfully educational and far more interesting.
I am always impressed about how a watchmaker remembers how parts go together when putting it back. Marshall often works on watches that are one of a kind and he had not seen before. Yet, he is able to take them apart, fix them and put them back together.
Recently found your channel and I am really enjoying what you do. I retired in 2008 and I had a job where I had to keep track of the time that certain tasks were performed, and note that in a journal. On the day I retired I took off my watch and put it on the handlebar of my motorcycle. I eventually sold that motorcycle and I insisted the watch go with it. I have to this day never again worn a watch. Cheers. ~ulrich
I would love this if I were her. This channel is so fun to watch with all of the different variety of watches. We have a 1914 zenith pocket watch that I got some photos of and this channel helped me figure out how to get into it. Also it teaches me on what the little dates and initials from watch maker that have gotten into it. I love this channel!
I was born 2/2/1950. I am amazed at what you do with old watches. I love them. I have an old Gruen I purchased because Connery wore one in the first two Bond movies. I am frightened to touch the inside of it as you do. It still runs. Great show.
You sir are a true gentleman. Doing all of that work at your cost and then returning that watch to the young viewer.... She will treasure that watch forever with her dad! Just stand up of you. I tip my hat! You should place those micro screws beside a USA penny to show us just how small they are!
I Love this video. The care that you put into restoring this watch and then returning it to it's new owner is at a level we should all aspire to. Alexa will treasure this for many years to come.
Hi Marshal. OMG. I have the exact same watch. It belonged to my grandfather. I got it after he passed away. I got it repaired and I wear it every Friday. I love the watch and reminds me every time what a great man my grandfather was. Love your videos. Thank you for the great content.
That watch is absolutely beautiful and the band you chose absolutely sets it off. It has that antique look yet an new watch look since you redid the case. Fantastic work! To bad you can't buy new watches that have that appearance.
Oh, you changed the watch band! Both are cool…. i loved the initial one with the “threads” near the attachment site, but the textured leather shown at the end is beautiful too. Fascinating video.
Hello Im sitting here post-op cataract surgery having not been able to see properly for the last two years but somehow making it work, and find myself binging on videos about repairing really tiny interesting things, I hope the IRONY is not lost on you. Thank You! (subbed)
A great video, and so nice to see this lovely old watch restored, i am sure the young owner will appreciate its return, and treasure it foreever. Thank You 👍
Not sure why google thought to recomend this now, but i must say as someone who never ware watches this is very good "morning coffe" videos. Especially now that we no-longer have pro tours ;). Allthough i could probably go back and watch those aswell. Thanks for all the backlog i get to watch
Wow, well done Marshall ! What a beautiful and well running watch this is. I'd like to see the smile on Alexas face when she gets the watch back. Thanks for that . Best regards from northern germany by Stefan
Not too surprising that a 10 yrd old enjoys your channel. You have a way of explaining your craft that makes it easier for viewers of all ages to learn quite a bit about time keeping. From sourcing watches, parts, and tools to history lessons on makers and designers - this is a full service channel! That little girl is going to be one lucky viewer! Serious bragging rights!
I love watching you work on these beautiful old watches. Something I would never attempt. Wish I could send you my dad's old Bulova watch. It doesn't run, has no hands anymore, but it is a special watch. He wore it for years and years.
Another great video thanks! The backstory and narrations make them that much better. Nice 1016 you are wearing as well. That begs the question; maybe someday you can share what are some of your favorite pieces.
Hi Marshall just became a Patreon. Your tutoriols are so thorough and interesting. I have about 5 hobbies but you have made watch making the the most interesting of them all. God bless bless mate.
When you've watched so many of these videos that you can follow along and understand what's happening without actually watching! It makes putting little boys down for nap time more tolerable. Also, I love that you are going to send this back to your young viewer. I bet she will cherish this watch forever.
My father in law have a christmas decoration that has a stuck swiss music box movement inside it, that is from his childhood. and after having watched your video's for a while, I got it apart and cleaned, so it now works perfectly again. He looked at it, and said that it brought back so many memories. This is what you made possible.
I absolutely love your Chanel. I can't get enough of it. You have taught me so much. It gave me the inspiration to restore my great grandfather's trench watch. it worked out better then I I could have ever emagened. i will pass it down to my son eventually. Huge thanks. Keep up the great work.
Well done for doing what you did with the restoration and for sending it back to the little girl . I do much the same thing but with computers , i do it for free just for the challenge of getting it working again
After watching most of your videos I'm becoming more and more enthusiastic about dials with patina, what a cool watch and a very nice gesture from you Sir, Thank you very much .
Das Gehäuse ist sehr schön geworden, ein großer Unterschied zu vorher und das Uhrwerk läuft wieder einwandfrei, jetzt ist es wieder eine sehr schöne Uhr. 👍
The best part of his videos is the narrative. It is so good the way he just "Tells it like it is", so personal! Makes you feel like he is talking to YOU!
Wow, wonderful transformation in your excellent hands. That young lady will scarcely recognise it and no doubt will treasure her 1st watch for ever. Great video Marshall.
Marshall, you single handedly are responsible the surge in prices that old watches are being sold for on Ebay! It's becoming more difficult by the day to find a bargain old watch.
Hey man, thanks for doing these videos. I’m a life long gunsmith, and I’ve always had this weird feeling like I chose the wrong type of smithing because I felt like watch smithing would just be too difficult for me. Your videos really showed me that watch smithing is approachable and my insecurities were just that; insecurities. Maybe one day I can make a watch of my own, but for now I’m really enjoying the hobby. Anyway thanks again, I really wouldn’t have even tried without your videos.
The attention to detail is absolutely amazing!! I know how you mentioned how much more time you can spend on this because it is a hobby, you would think the ones who get paid would care as much as you. Absolutely love your videos. Also loved see the plating.

The amount of work you put in is mindblowong ..editing is masterfull .angles are amazing .everything is mixed to perfection .A absolut joy to watch
This is hands down my favorite channel. I love your passion for what you do.
A treasure.
Simple elegance that she can be proud to own and wear.
Even as a bigger watch, women can still wear them.
Wonderful work sir.
Wow, it really doesn't get any better than that!
Great back story, great video and a really great outcome. What a gorgeous watch!
The Bob Ross of watches is back everyone!
haha, so true. Some patina is just a happy little accident.
Wow! There is no other UA-camr I can watch do the same thing and explain it all over and over again.. keep it up 👍🏼
My kid is four years old and absolutely loves this channel. She's really fascinated by machines being taken apart especially tiny ones.
Excellent video! And an excellent viewer as well!
May she treasure this watch and be inspired by it!
It's one of my watch dreams to find a 40's-60's vintage watch & get it working again. Kudos Alexa & Marshall!
Thank You 👍
Out of all the rolex's and what not watches i have watched you restore, this would be my top pick in your collection.
The amount of skill and concentration required in your videos separates my mind from the madness of the world. Thank you.
Wonderful Channel, Thank you..
Glad your sending the watch back to Alexa and her family. Another cherished family heirloom back in action.
Splendid work on a lovely watch. I wish I'd had more teachers with your patience and curiosity.
Great channel, love to observe (avoided saying watch 😂) your work but your narration is what makes them just that much better than all the others.
Great job again, great camera, great talking,! Before you said you was an amateur but newer was! Pro and great. Terje
Great job inspiring a future watchmaker!
One of the best looking watches you have ever restored on the channel. Well done!
I manage a watch boutique and had the pleasure of meeting Mark who referred me to this video after having a good watch enthusiast chat :)
I really appreciate your simple and practical explanations. Your humility shows. I love your channel.
When you've watched so many of these videos that you can follow along and understand what's happening without actually watching! It makes putting little boys down for nap time more tolerable. Also, I love that you are going to send this back to your young viewer. I bet she will cherish this watch forever.
Lovely job. I think the young lady will treasure it. A very nice gesture by you to return it. 👏 👍👍
My father in law have a christmas decoration that has a stuck swiss music box movement inside it, that is from his childhood. and after having watched your video's for a while, I got it apart and cleaned, so it now works perfectly again. He looked at it, and said that it brought back so many memories. This is what you made possible.
I hope you sleep well at night knowing how much your videos are appreciated around the globe, well done you!....
I finished watching this episode and would love to watch another but,,,,, it 2AM! lol,,,, Well,,, there is tomorrow! :) Love your channel!
Congrats my dear Marshall, it's nice your channel influences the future generation of watch makers!
What a great thing for Alexa , it took me 52 years to find this hobby 🎉 thanks for your warming voice great video .
Wow, wonderful transformation in your excellent hands. That young lady will scarcely recognise it and no doubt will treasure her 1st watch for ever.
Great video Marshall.
Another beautiful restore! I was going to say you should be on radio with that beautiful DJ voice.. but you already do that on UA-cam 😅😊🎉🎉
Very nice gift to give back to your viewer. Very kind of you.
Last week I took apart my first watch (grandpa’s Grand Seiko ) and got it cleaned and running and everything was successful.
I find it so relaxing to view the work progress while listening to the chat. It like “Bob Ross” does watch restoration 😊
