The Chilobrachys natanicharum was re classified from the old Chilobrachys sp. Electric Blue Tarantula from Southern Thailand a very striking fossorial spider that's quit shy but a real pleasure to catch outside when wandering, here we attempt to pair this awesome spider with some stunning closeups of those wonderful blue legs .

The males don’t look anything like the females. They definitely don’t seem to mind that they look nothing alike . Thanks for sharing another great pairing.

I wouldn’t say I LOVE spiders, but I no longer imagine them crawling all over me and biting me every time I see one or think of one. Your lovely voice and calm demeanor, the facts you provide, your passion and your vast experience that you share with the videos has all caused a change of mind for me. As an American, I think your voice reminds me of David Attenborough, who is also lovely to listen to when describing otherwise weird, or gross, or scary natural phenomenon. My husband is baffled by me watching pairing videos and egg sac videos, lol, because he’s seen me scream when I see a small house spider. No more! Thanks to Dave’s Little Beasties, I am reformed!

I always feel more relaxed with my pairings when the female either responds instantly when she senses the male’s presence or she actually initiates the courtship

Little Guy had a quite artistic apprroach at first. Tom Moran from Tom's big Spiders brought up the thought that these iridescent colorations could be to lure Insects at night. Could be. Often the front legs are the mostly coloured and espacially the fossorial spiders sit at the entrance with their legs displayed in front. But anyway it's just a pleasure to look at. For being a cannibal last time, she more than accommodated the male this time. Let's hope she's also given up egg sac eating. Her electric blue is breathtaking! It reminds me of the wings of the blue morpho butterfly (Morpho menelaus).

Hi Dave, and camera lady. I really enjoyed this video. Great filming camera lady. That blue color was amazing, so beautiful. The little male did not wait, he was all getting into the pairing. That was fast, and he made a great escape. I was surprised that she did not move right away. And her color change was so fast. I was reading an article on a wolf spider from Brazil where males are more likely to eat the females because the males can tell if she's 'up to scratch' - perhaps its the same with these spiders.

That was amazing to watch!
They must be able to see in the wavelengths the legs reflect... so must some of the predators they are trying to warn off. Many of the fossorial true spiders have color on the undersides of the legs and chelicerae as well. I have a theory the blues are more for communication with each other, and the oranges are more for warnings, but who knows?

I have also one subadult/adult Female of chilobrachys natanicharum and she is very pretty,I call her choco,because fresh molted her dark brown is like choco :)
They are the only Spiders they lives in hollow trunk trees in the mangrove forrest of Thailand (aborial) but because we didn't know,we say terrestrial/fossorial🕷️🙂
15:04: The vibrant colors COULD also signal:" Don't mess with me, I have venom." Poisonous/venomous creatures and plants often signal danger to other animals, by strong colors.

I have a thought to the blue is on bottom side of her legs when she has defensive posture, it shows the blue, so maybe that’s a warning to anybody that wants to attack her just a thought

This was an excellent breeding video, when she turned and showed her colours she looked florescent, the blue lit up like led lighting, what an amazing looking spider and it was good to see the male living to breed again. 👍👍👍

I truly admire your breeding programs. It would be wonderful if a certain time in the future no more Critters were taken from the wild for humans pleasure. But I also have to say that I really appreciate the heads up the mail winds up successful and alive in the end. The pairing videos are always very stressful for me. And I'm just too old to do stress. I usually do not make it through the whole. That being your loyal fan for so long I'm always compelled to at least try and make sure that I like. Anyway, good job on preparing of this beautiful spider❤

Especially the spider hobby is doing a great job at conservation. Hybrids are extremely frowned upon. But arachnids pair up extremely easily compared to other bugs and crawlies. There are a couple bugs we haven't even figured out the diet of, breeding being totally out of the question. But it is the ultimate goal of all reputable hobbyists to conserve parts of nature and people would likely jump at a chance to resupply spiders to the wild whenever needed. They don't lose their hunting skills, so being raised in captivity isn't affecting their chances of survival a whole lot.

Hi Dave & Camera Lady, another stunning Species and great pairing video. I was wondering something about the light refraction and spotted @sydneyhunt6681 's earlier comment along the same lines... that of reaction to UV. Many Species, Inverts, Verts and even Flora are fluorescent under UV and was wondering how many T's react the same (?) I'd guess that even some silk would " Glow " too.... maybe worth a video, if you find any results. Keep up the cracking videos & have a Merry Xmas.
