Still find you a very big influence on my art style Bruce. You inspired me for awhile and I dont think I will ever get tired of watching you draw. Thanks.
OMG i remember watching this guy when I was younger on pbs? or something like that, I remember he inspired me to create a comic strip involving a cat that solved mysteries lol (i was 8)
Bruce, do you think comic strip syndication is still worth the effort considering that newspapers are closing shop and the internet has been giving content away for free. What's a cartoonist to do! I think animation has made a comeback! Love your work Bruce.
Yeh but if you wanna do a four panel strip will the measurements have to be smaller or could you draw the 3 on a page (A4) and the single one on a separate sheet?...
June W It varies. King Features syndicate requires 13”x9”, but other syndicates have their own requirements. Important thing is to not get hung up on the details...just start making comics and keep at it every day.
I render my characters with a C-6 dip nib pen, a Rapidograph .60 for the words, and a 3x0 Rapidograph for the texture and background / shading. I do the "bubbles" with a 0.80 Rapidograph - lots of punch. The C-6 is tricky to get the variation in line thickness and takes time to figure out. Still working on it.
I've been trying to break into the American Comic book industry. Sent one submission to a great group called Slave Labor Graphics but got rejected. I did it the way a cartoonist would do a strip (your own lettering). A few days ago I started searching about for Calvin and Hobbes clips on here to get inspired for my own idea. So as I watch this I've decided strips are more my route. As I watch this and learn about "newspaper syndicates" I can tell it's gonna be a little different of a ball game.
wow... your comic is so good i like cute drawing`s and i can`t draw that well this help me alot ... thanks for sharing this and i have alot of hobbies thank you and great video P.S important still a kid XD
Here is a tip for all of your future cartoonist. Even if you get rejected time and time again the syndicate will remember you. They will take a better look at your work and might ask you to draw a strip for them or write one for them. I know from experience don't give up, I was in the advertising business and as an art director I had to prove over and over again that I was able to create advertising that would sell a product. Once I started they always came to me.
@1Royalen dont be scared we all have different talents find yours and try if its good yeah if its bad theres millions of things that your good at aswell!!! :)
I love how you exude confidence and convey that when you are drawing. You firmly believe in your skill and your experience.
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Send your comic strips to the newspaper syndicates. Such as King Features syndicate.
I know it's been a long time, but this video seems timeless. Do you recommend copyrighting the strip page(s) before sending them anywhere?
Ok
@@NoBrainerLanguages if you want
I watched you as a child on VHS. I'm glad to have found you. Keep on cartooning!
Finally! Some one who shows how instead of just showing off.

Syndicates are companies that sell your work to newspapers around the world, they also sell cartoons to TV channels.
Animation is just so hard to get,but I don't care! I'll still get it!!!

Oh I did find the credit card payments almost by default but got stiuck on the delivery over seas outside if America? No go.
Some people use water color, I can't. Don't worry about color so much, the black lines and the white space are more important.
I'm only watching this for my summer homework packet lol.😣
Dope😍
