Great video. This looks like the training wheels of brakes to me. What happens when the kid first tries real brakes when they are older? It seems like this system teaches them nothing about brake modulation, and they just learn to smash the lever as hard as they can.
@@bikes9662 yeah my kid has a Pello and does great with the braking. It seems like a solution to a problem that doesn't really exist, at the expense of finer control and establishing muscle memory.
My strategy is to make sure the front brake cannot lock the wheel when the lever is fully depressed. It's a fairly easy adjustment to make. If I end up with one of these bikes I will take your advice about weight into account because I have kids at opposite ends of the weight percentile charts.

Good question. In hindsight, I would rather my kids just have normal brakes on these bikes. My 4 year old seems to do fine with them on her Womb 2...
