Factually the hardcore is the minority. Take a poll or research it I have. Hardcore is the Minority. I thought that's why games had difficulty settings lol
Nah man, difficulty settings are products of lazy development cycles where the devs are not imaginative enough or do not have enough time to build difficulty organically into their game. There are tons of people who have discussed this at length. TLDR: Difficulty should be implemented by organically building optional areas or endgame content rather than a slider where all it does is add or subtract damage and health of enemies.
Superhyped for this game, and even though we wont be able to log in on friday because of the queues i have full confidence in the dev-team to be doing what it needs to improve the game so im in for the ride
I am definitely going to play POE2 but I'll wait until it's out of early access, still have tons of other games to play. I love the look of the game. Even if I am only playing ACT 1-6 it's free.
Diablo was my first ARPG in it's hay day, as a teenager. It was a fantastic game. The ARPG genera has mostly done a great job of disappointing me as a gamer since. The Diablo franchise has been on a accelerating path downward since. D3 was objectionably worse than D2, and had canceled expansions and a lack of developer support after the first DLC because of it. D4 is a not only a step in the wrong direction, but it managed to fall down the entire flight of stairs along the way. While immortal is an over monetized laughing stock. On the other extreme, POE 1 was exactly what I wanted in an ARPG, but dialed up to 11. It was so detailed, it lacked accessibility. It had wonderful depth, but so much so, the learning curve became a sheer cliff. What I've seen of POE 2 so far, hints at a wonderful middle ground. Depth and complexity with purpose; player agency and choice but with enough smart design choices to the build/gear system as to be understandable for a casual player; and a fantastic emphasis on both early story progression and a divers end game. Great winning formula. And you're right, they are doing what they do best: building an ARPG. They're not trying to design for the masses, they're not trying to cast a net to bring in other genera's. They're unapologetically putting out a genera defining ARPG and making players adapt to it. They deserve an applause. And I'm not even a hardcore ARPG player, I'm a casual who normally plays space sims, 4x, and MMORPG's... Good work Grinding Gear.
I want to play on release but still gonna hold of till at least sunday. Its a given that servers are gonna struggle and I just cant do this anymore. Take a day Off just to waste it looking at a lobby screen and que. Gonna have a night out with friends and enjoy the salt online when I get home 🤣
Right? Instead of some significant updates for D2 like item balancing, new runewords, maybe a *loot filter*, they tack on WASD movement that nobody asked for and start a new season at the same time people will be flocking over to POE2.
I've been playing POE for over 10 years, and don't get me wrong I'm thankful to GGG for carrying over all my MTX to POE 2, but honestly they didn't need to do that. I would've gladly played POE 2 even if nothing would've carry over. They did it because they truly care about their fan base. GGG is on the same pedestal as Larian studios in my book, and I will continue to support them and play w/e these 2 companies release.
They should take off gender locked roles. I play Poe and diablo. Diablo 4 isn't a bad game by any stretch. Just like I prefer lost arc to both diablo and poe.
Well, I disagree with quite a lot of what you said. I believe CCC has missed the mark by not taking into consideration the casual gamer. You know, the ones with a family, a full-time job and disposable income. I would gladly drop several hundred dollars of the bat to play this, if there was a reasonable change in me reaching the endgame without losing my mind. How about enjoying the music score and the awesome graphics while playing the game, instead of rushing to see who can get to a level 100 first? Why not provide a memorable experience for that segment of the population? Difficulty in a game matter to those of us that want to experience a great game, but do not have the time to “Git Gud.” In the end CCC is still a business and I don’t see why a compromise on difficulty would hurt their standing with the hard-core gamer community. It’s like professional and amateur sports. Some still enjoy a game of baseball with friends while acknowledging that they will never play in the big leagues.
It's GGG. Secondly, if you see it and it doesn't appeal to you then it's not your cup of tea. GGG is praised for having a vision and pursuing it, why should they compromise to suit fully to your "casual" needs. For everyone 1 of you, there's like 9 of us who enjoys the challenge, the build progress, and needing to think to succeed versus getting rewarding for dumb decisions.

Oh, I get it: It’s a game by players for players and only the best of best should be allowed into this exclusive club. 😂 Contrary to what you may believe this game does appeal to me. The thing with Diablo 4 is that it targeted new and casual ARPG players from the very beginning. It's not exactly a fair comparison between PoE and D4, or even D2 and D4, because those games target entirely different audiences within the ARPG community sphere. PoE is great, it's one of my favorites, but that doesn't make Diablo 4 bad just because it targets a casual audience. People often misunderstand what target audience D4 was MEANT to capture, and it upsets me as a fan of both games. You can't honestly tell me that PoE targets new ARPG players precisely because of the overwhelmingly complex skill tree alone. A lot of people dropped PoE because it was just too overwhelming all at once. Each game has their target audience, and are, by virtue of themselves, different types of ARPG.
It did not, at the start at least. In the beginning, the feels were at least D2 like. Slow, difficult, and methodical. But D4 is a successful title so the majority of players played it just because they know Diablo, probably Diablo 3. Now the majority of players are casuals and complain a LOT. Hence, the downgrade of D4. But please don't forget, they mentioned several times that they are targeting casuals and hardcore players. They want them all, i think Adam Jackson is the one stated it so some patches tend to have very easy mechanics for casuals but grindy for hardcore players. And no one wants that 😆 easy but grindy. I like it at first except for their oversimplified tree.
Diablo's lore is fantastic. I honestly think the problem with D4 is the inevitable lack of content all ARPG's suffer after the campaign. In the genre, Once the campaign is done, you were meant to move on to other things, that used to be ok. You only stayed if you were absolutely committed. POE2 will do well. Just like D4 has done well, even tho its easy to hate.
The thing is, the better point of contention about D4 being bad is its incompetent implementation. You can prattle away about fair comparison and different target audience blah blah blah, but the way they implement things extremely different. Just look at the stash tabs, end game and monetization (among many things) and see the undeniable incompetence.
@CCSplinters I respectfully disagree. D4, from my time with it, felt like a game that desperately wanted to be like D3 but wouldn't commit because of the community split that D3 caused, filling itself with D2 memberberries while offering nothing in terms of gameplay that D2 players could latch onto.
@kevinoneil5120 probably you're right but the point is that they don't know which audience to cater the most and end up siding with the majority. And the committed ones were ignored.
I love that GGG is offering early access bundle upgrades. I can buy them over time without breaking the bank if I want those cosmetics and that hoodie.
Its not only the Devs that make games "dumb", also content creators that have the chance to play the games before others and then release builds&other stuff that completely removes the "exploration" part of a game. Yes you can avoid ever clicking a video about the game or googling it but there should be a forced spoiler tag because you can't unsee things or unread em. Like watched a video that gave tips to new players and there was the "do not explore the game" GO check the builds others have made. It creates a game with "clones" and if I compare it to D2 back when there was no guides yet. The game was a lot more enjoyable because when you found something that REALLY works and when the only way for others to see that build was in pvp so it took a long time for it to get nerfed(I still prefer the DVD version of D2 I have over the ruined one because you are allowed to be strong). My point is that the faster a build spreads the faster they will nerf it and the more the game turns into "must be minmaxed" removing the fun part of everything working in some way. So people sharing information and telling others what to do also reduces the "options" for a player. So can't always blame the devs and sometimes the people sharing "too much information". Great example is ESO, went from a fun game to "having to activate skills in a certain order to minmax damage output so that the boss dies in time". Once again players ruined that one y forcing the devs to nerf and tune the game to compensate for the minmaxing only a few really enjoys and the rest do because its the only way.
I played the first zone and logged out, this shit sucks ass. I can't quite put my finger on it and at first I thought it was WASD so I went back to Click to Move but something still feels off. Then when I killed that first boss I HAD NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT. I failed the first try and had to kill him all over again, I play SC for a reason. Basically you can run that first boss dying over and over and never progressing because 0 items dropped! If you bulldoze casuals with this kind of first experience, not many will stick around. I been on POE1 since open beta and I was hyped but this was a let down. It just feels awkward to the point of being unfun.
Long time PoE player with too many hours, and I do enjoy the game, I'll play PoE2. But to say that they don't use FOMO is ridiculous and borderline irresponsible. Limited Time Supporter Packs every league. It's the same problem with Digital Extremes and selling upwards of 180USD DLC Packs. I'm not saying that they don't need to pay the devs and keep the servers going, but these are still Dark Designs for monetization. Not trying to make anyone feel bad for enjoying the games they do--everyone should take joy where they can find it. GGG and DE aren't some scrappy indie company with a message on how to do better, they're both wholly owned by the same megacorp that is highly effective at making money. Sorry, but this video feels like 2012 "Don't sleep on Star Citizen it's going to revolutionize the industry."
Dude, maybe games just are not for you. If you think DE and GGG are scummy with FOMO because.... Cosmetics might be limited to the people that play at that time untill they come back around in random prizes is insanity. Tencent doesnt make game or monetization decisions, they buy things that make good margins and kick back with pure profits. Tencent being huge does not affect the part where everyone can play PoE/PoE2 and Warframe fully and truly free and never miss an item that isnt cosmetic. And every item in warframe at least (in PoE i cant say for certain) has come back around for availability in resurgence
While I get what your saying to a degree... It all boils down to ppl need to learn that if you miss out on something it's not the end of the world.. learn to live without getting everything you want.
Also they not a small company, they're a company that largely listens to it's player base and takes criticism... Unlike Diablo... They LITERALLY hear the community's complains on d3 not looking like gothic horror they they literally promised it was and instead practically spit in the player bases face by wearing rainbow d3 merch and making whimsyshire, the d3 secret lvl full of cuddly stuffed bears and unicorns. I can't say anything for d4 cus d3 was soo bad I refuse to every buy any of their newer products... Same goes for pretty much any cod after bo3 and many other big companies.
That’s just a bad take. I find it hard to believe you are a long time POE player and think that way. It’s a free game. You do need a few stash tabs once you get to endgame but that’s it.
I disagree completely with your take. I never had any FOMO from POE supporter packs, and I've played plenty gachas with real FOMO scum tactics. The game barely is multi-player, when you have FOMO from cosmetics mostly only you will see it is a sign for you, my dude...

Git Gud is like a parent giving it to you straight. Yes, you suck but you can do better and not suck.
I been playing wow since the start its gave me great enjoyment the new map I have not got yet as I don't really have the time these days and I think there outdated now charging £10 a month. I played path of exile 1 and never got into it thought I'll try path of exile 2 and so glad I did its been awesome so far and to think no monthly costs WOW for real lol
Factually the hardcore is the minority. Take a poll or research it I have. Hardcore is the Minority. I thought that's why games had difficulty settings lol
Yoda speak mastered you have
@@latincristotake a poll he must.

Brilliant video you got my sub 👍🏻
Superhyped for this game, and even though we wont be able to log in on friday because of the queues i have full confidence in the dev-team to be doing what it needs to improve the game so im in for the ride
I am definitely going to play POE2 but I'll wait until it's out of early access, still have tons of other games to play. I love the look of the game. Even if I am only playing ACT 1-6 it's free.
Just tried to log in, they are not up yet :(
Wait. Are we actually finally . . . "voting with our wallets"?
I would be happy if they at least told us why did we died. This black box for insta killed is annoying AF.
Really bad week for Blizzard lmaooo
Right? Instead of some significant updates for D2 like item balancing, new runewords, maybe a *loot filter*, they tack on WASD movement that nobody asked for and start a new season at the same time people will be flocking over to POE2.
Expain what is the point of this game except button mashing and skill tree upgrades? Thats not good gameplay to sane people. Just more insanity.
@@D4z3D the thing is all yall insane gamers are out there bashing games we love because there not "Elden Ring" or "Dark Souls" where you rage and fight a boss 100 times because your insane and have no real challenges in life. So if you want other gamers to not give bad feedback than hold that same energy and stop hate reviewing games you don't like. Like you just said It's just not your cup of tea so move on and stop ruining it for others, because if you continue that we will be hear demanding these devs change for us then you will cry when they do because they got bad reviewed as there the only games around now. Oh and your wrong there is not 9 to 1 of people who like these ridiculously hard games more like 3 of 10 like them. The others have lives.
@@D4z3D GGG! Got it. My bad for screwing up the acronym. That aside though, I was just trying to add a different perspective from a non-hardcore gamer to the conversation. And that is: You could possibly add more players to the fold and bring in more funds, but still keep the hardcore players happy. Why do you think that isn’t possible? Oh, I get it: It’s a game by players for players and only the best of best should be allowed into this exclusive club. 😂 Contrary to what you may believe this game does appeal to me. That is the reason why I expressed my opinion on this video. Where do you get your 9:1 stat? Please provide some accurate data to back up those numbers. And last but not least I am not of the participation trophy generation. You should read the post again.
Still sane, exile?
The things I have seen over my last 46 years of gaming. 😑**sigh**
Don’t agree, we had BG3 and then in the proceeding year, Redfall, Starfield and many more stinkers.
I hope that they add some kind of competitive PvP arena or something.. test ur build on other players or a duel feature or zone to PvP in for funzies I can’t not PvP killing ai bosses is fun n all but ffs can a game have solid PvP again ? Or did that die 20 years ago
I dont see the appeal. You walk up to a group of mobs, smash buttons, rinse and repeat.
Apply that attitude to literally anything and it will suck.
this is like saying ds sucks because you just press circle at the right time
That's because you forgot the most important part: loot pops out.
@@roadrunner_rc
took one look at it and there isnt even a character creator, not for me
The thing with Diablo 4 is that it targeted new and casual ARPG players from the very beginning.
Couldn't disagree more about free to play. It's still cancer.
Great video
Nice video
I love that GGG is offering early access bundle upgrades. I can buy them over time without breaking the bank if I want those cosmetics and that hoodie.
I like the way you power your lamp on the bookshelf.
Edit: you might need more.
There will be issues for sure tomorrow, and then the kids will review bash it. Same shit, same players...
PoE2 is made for gamers, while D4 is made for stockholders.
