- Today, REHOO is going to go over Everything To Do Before You Reach Level 40 In Zenless Zone Zero. This is a huge hurdle that many players will face as time goes by in ZZZ. I want to give you all the tips and objectives in this guide, you want to have done before you hit world level 40 or interknot level 40. This will make sure you are at a good standing with your account so that you are not stopped in progress as soon as you hit level 40 as it is an intensive resource drought.

I got all disk drives w/ crit rate and threw them on Ellen. They may not be necessary, but their effect is palpable
levelling up the disc drives does provide a fairly larger bonus. the only issue is that the materials for that aren't as freely handed put as the agent level mats or the w engine level mats. so you'd have to grind for those specifically. (which kinda sucks cuz you already have to spend time grinding for the level cap upgrade mats)
edit: i just learned that you can craft certification seals by using lower grade ones, i found it by clicking on the seal when prompted to see the options for aquiring, then i crafted them. since i have over a hundred of the lower seals, i can dedicate battery towards levelling materials now!

You didn't mention going through Hard mode before the difficulty ramps up! You leave a lot of free level up resources and polychrome on the table, and since Hard mode scales once you get to 40, it'll be significantly tougher/more time consuming/more demanding of all of your characters higher level to clear. For F2P or BP fishies, Hard mode is something to do that gives good rewards after your dailies once you hit the big slow down wall at ~33

That's what I've been saving them for. I figure before I reach Chapter 3, I'll be stuck at a level grind anyway, so I'll want to take the time I've got on those harder difficulty levels.
Does it scale? There's no mention of it in the game that hard mode scales through inter knot level

Tfw people have yet to realize that getting a guaranteed "S rank signal" does NOT mean it's a guaranteed unit. It could be a W-engine instead.

@@sitosamin It's only when you're pulling on the exclusive channel, or W-Engine banner that your S rank will be a unit or a W-Engine respectively.
Meaning that if you're a F2P, stockpiling your Encrypted Master Tapes until you can get that guarantee is a much better idea than spending them randomly. The only problem is how rough it'll be to stockpile 100 of those as a F2P. Or you can save up 16000 polychrome, and do it that way.

You should lvl every character to 10 and promote them for the master tape. Pulls are really hard to come by.

Pulls are absolutely not hard to come by. I already have 115 pulls worth of encrypted master tapes, and Mihoyo games are good about giving you nearly a 90 pulls worth per patch cycle
@@ChaosLightspeed As someone who just started the game, where can I get this number of basic/encrypted master tapes? Is it just daily sign in + polychrome exchange or is there something I'm missing?
@@JGeode it's usually just doing all dailies/weeklies combined with events.But you're not getting almost 90 pulls per patch,just more than half of that
@@ChaosLightspeed standard pulls are hard to come by, you can't use the base amount you get from the start of the game as a reference because of things like the guidebook thing, new account mail, and other things.
Once those are exhausted standard pulls are slow to gain

Fellow koleda M1 haver heree, and i don't have any other s rank.
Was planning to pull ellen, but lost 5050 to another koleda, so now i'm saving for Zhuyuan/Qingyi.
Fortunately, i didn't have the displeasure of drawing the same 5* twice. I got a Koleda first, then drew a RIna and yesterday i finally got Ellen lol
got ellen on my first ever multi thankfully and now saving for future broken characters if they ever release one
I would recommend going to the music store to get your “relics” as it doesn’t require stamina and you can get whatever set you want from her
Also if you are having trouble with damage just level them up you can always dismantle them later if they aren’t good enough anymore
FYI upgrading ultimate skills also upgrades chain attack damage, which is pretty big

For your Anby, I would raise her Chain Attack to around 5 at least (3 is a bit low). As the name suggests, that affects her chain attack damage, not just her ultimate.
Leveled that up after the video funny enough

I wouldn't spend stamina on Cleanup missions, but I do think it's worth going for some specific disc drives to at least make sure your 6 characters have 4+2 sets to get the set bonuses. Specifically, I recommend leveling up Impact disc drives, as it will help your stun characters by a ton in terms of how long it takes you to stun enemies. Faster stun = more damage = less damage you have to dodge. The other thing worth fishing for is Anomaly Proficiency and Mastery, on Anonaly characters like Grace and Piper. Since so much of their damage is from Anomaly, their other stats and skill levels dont actually matter as much. Every character can leave disc 1 and 3 unleveled.
It's still important to level up the ultimate of each one of them since it also increases chain attack damage.
Ome thing im so happy about is the way they made lucy even though shes a supporter charcter but her multipliers are so fricken high dhe can be a main dps. Cuz rn im running ellen, lycoan, sohaku. Then i have rina, piper and lucy ok the other side being leveled up because i wanter some variance from the ice team

So this is my third time watching this video and I finally locked in last night and have my two teams for the foreseeable future. This vid helped me so much because I really wasn't sure what to do or even what teams I should put together. Now I have two solid teams and I'm prepping for Zhu Yuan

Getting a weapon as my second 5 star really sucks. I have Soldier 11, but also don’t have Lucy (her best support), so I’m kind of cooked in terms of building 2 teams
Probably will do S11/Anby/Nicole and Corin/Piper/Soukaku until Zhu Yuan. By then I hopefully get a Lucy or I’ll just have to buy her from the shop

S weapon can be good though, got Nekomata's but it works amazing on any physical attacker so been flexing Corin with it

I'm at 34 and have focused on 4 characters so far, Neko, Anby, Lucy and Nicole. I was just swapping the support depending on the content requirements. Then I finally pulled Ellen and her W-engine, so now I've leveled her up and almost done with Sukoko. Hopefully I'll still have enough resources once I get to 40, lol

Currently sitting around mid-to-high 20s in my Account level in the middle of Ch2 (Belobog Construction), so I've barely been able to touch Disk Drives at all. Sure I got some low level ones from some missions, but I havent leveled them up much, but have equipped them to some units
You should still level the ultimate of some characters because of the chain attack (the quick time event after stunning an enemy)
chain attacks are also a part of ult level, you want those on supports
how are you not dodging on anby, increases ur daze output a ton
just mainstats on discs make a big diff, you get them for free from music shop and you have no advantage saving those for later

I'm in a dilemma right now. Currently at inter-knot 35 and maxed out my 1st main team (Nekomiya, Anby and Nicole). I can't build another team because I have only unlocked 7 agents (Billy, Corin, Ben and Soukaku). The reason is, I'm waiting for Zhu Yuan.
I don't know where to dump my batteries. Some say it's bad to pre-farm materials, but it's the only thing that I can do
Hey, we play the same team! That's pretty cool~ I don't have any good advice, but I wanted to wish you good luck at least.
I'm in the exact same situation as you, (Neko only S rank, running Anby and Nicole as team members) and the only tip I can give you as someone who has the same problem is to "future proof" the battery usage, in other words, farm for materials that you don't have in excess.
For example, I fight each simulation boss once every so often, because who knows if in the future those materials end up being necesary to level up a future character.
Is it a perfect plan? No. Is it a waste of time/battery? I don't know. But at least I'm not letting my battery reach the cap.
That is actually pretty rough. If you haven’t gotten your second five star from the standard banner, make sure to do that, as you could get another character. Otherwise, my advice would vary depending on how much you care for shiyu defence. If you wanna clear before reset, build Billy/corin, Ben and soukaku. The team is very sub optimal because you don’t get additional abilities but it should be enough to get you by if your 1st team is strong enough. Alternatively you could either replace Ben with the other physical dps if you think the additional ability is worth it, or do 10-20 pulls on Ellen’s banner to see if you get Anton, who you could then pair with Ben and soukaku for a better team.
However, in the event you don’t care for shinyu defence, I’d focus on pre farming for zhu yuan. You already know you need attack seals, ether skills, so I don’t see the problem with pre farming. At the same time, focus on getting mats to push your 1st team’s potential to the max when you reach level 40. As was said in the video, Anby and Nicole will be zhu yuan’s best teammates currently available.

one thing is for sure, people who are new to gacha games and started playing with zzz are in for quite a shock when they discover how much of a total pain the drive dics (aka artifacts or relics) RNG grind is

i got ellen and lycan first and second pulls luckily enough but, rina took 160 pulls, yikes. i really needed the utility and energy gain that came with the victoria maid teams.

Its funny because technically i had an idea for a team based on the characters i saw which involved ellen because i love sharks... but me being a level 30 inter naut still dont have her so i built an electro team that worked because of charcaters i got instead that worked... still hopping for ellen...
7 Days ago you were at 1k, now 2k for my sub! GG. I'm only just starting and around 20 so a long way to go. Ellen and Rina are my baes. You note don't level everyone but it's definitely easy to level all to 20 and get the free stuff!
ftp, i have Ellen/Lycoan/Soukaku/Shark/Butler, all levelled as far as i can level them. now working on Nicole and Amby so I can make a Zhuyuan team if i manage to get her. but yeah, all of the other chars are like level 1
I skipped Ellen, ended up getting max copies of the Ether bangboo 4* and I’m 25 pulls away from a for sure banner pull so you can guess who I’m pulling for. Plus I love Nicole so I’ll be happy to have a character to make her shine as support Ether.
The battlepass weekly mission to do 5 disk drive events looks pretty tempting at 35.
You can absolutely finish the battle pass easily before it resets without ever paying attention to the daily or weekly quests. You will naturally complete enough of them just by playing the game every (or even just most) days and claiming whatever you happen to finish
yeah, after the zhu yuan trial, I was confused about why people were saying to skip on her banner other than as a f2p...
her attack is insane, and she has a really busted, first of its kind, core ability that activates with a single support unit on the team instead of the usual 2 link faction or type.
(ironically, the trial sticks you with the lame ether boo aswell so they legit want you to use the only other ether character In the game, which completely takes away the point of her core passive 😭)
I found it all hilarious in the moment.
All great advise. I can avoid all the mistakes I made on Honkai Star Rail which was my first Gacha game. You have to be strategic from the start.
I hope this could help me. I'm fairly new, level 26 in a few days, and I'd want to make a proper team after the Ellen period ends, just in case I might get her or not....

As of right now. I have 4 characters at 40 and 3 at level 50. If I didn't have this decent job I'd be screwed lol. But you definitely should prioritize your resources early and pick your main team
I'm level 30 for both my overall progression and my main characters. My main characters are Anton (4/6), Anby, with Soukaku (who is 6/6) and Grace as a switch; Ben has some decent investment and I'd like Koleda given how the two of them get a bonus when on a team.
I only level up "all" of my characters JUST for the wishes, im level 28 Right now and it's going cool ngl, i only play Ellen, Grace and Rina, its a pretty good team to be honest.
I think I’ll go 30/40 for every unit I have since I’m planning on skipping the next patch - get those pulls and have some options while I wait to see who comes for 1.2 and beyond.

In terms of disc drives, didn’t you mention before that they all use different tier of ship so don’t need to hold the low rank ones and to use them when u get them?

Got soldier11 then got lyacon after the 90 hard pity. I'm running S11, Ben and Lucy since i don't have an ice dps so i won't waste materials leveling lyacon and shoukaku. And considering my luck with hoyo games i won't be able to get Ellen with my 82 pulls.
I really need to get the Character i want to start my team
I found myself in a kind of dilemma where I want to save up my Polychrome for future banners but at the same time I'm not really fulfilled with the current team I'm playing. It's always a struggle to level-up a character burning ressources although you know that you'll throw away that character as soon as a better one is available.
For reference I'm currently level 33 and only have one stunner which is Anby and the only reliable DPS I have is Nekomata which is really a shame because I actually want to save for Qingyi in the future making a high level Anby obsolete and there are way better choices in the current agent roster but I'm just unlucky with my pulls.
Ofc it would be an idea to reroll account then but I've already spend a lot of time doing small stuff so it feels not being worth starting all over.
Just hit lvl 30 f2p and got me a C5 Sukaku, think I'll take a break for a few updates once I hit lvl 40

I will say that, while you have a core 3, i would suggest that if you pulled Ellen, she is in that Core 3, but I have about 6 characters I give a lot of focus to. My core 3 is Ellen, Soukaku, and Corin, a lot of the content recommends Ice more than anything. If you have Koleda, the game gives you Ben for free and her moveset not only changes, it expands with him on your team. Fire is the second highest recommended element in the game, your Core 3 should be based around Ellen or Koleda currently. I have both so I kind of keep track between those two teams the most.

My level currently is level 26 and my team is Nekomata,Billy Kid and Anby since its probably the best team for my available agents rn cuz the rest of my agents are either different elements or faction so it wouldnt be good for the team

50 IS EXPENSIVE FOR SURE, and 100% save the batteries, these get more valueable as times goes by

Some people skip a ton of story, TV content and city exploration dialogs, which is the majority of what you get at those levels.
I once spent 44 minutes in a sidequest TV mission because I wanted to read and explore it.

I'd recommend actually picking 6 core characters. Obviously start with 3 characters as a main team, but to push Shiyu Defense effectively you are gonna need 2 teams and that means 6 units. I wouldn't advise going past that with the increase in upgrade costs, but that should be the first goal for players in my opinion if they want to clear endgame content

See unlike most genshin and honkai players I’ve been playing shit like monster hunter and warframe for years I’m used to farming stuff. So here’s a tip do whatever you want in the game save polychrome and master tape in case there’s a good banner and when you run out of stamina just go outside and get some fresh air or hell just put the game down for a couple hours it will all be there when you come back or you could use your batteries but don’t get greedy drink coffee in game it gives about 60 . Don’t get stressed it’s a lot to take in and can push some players away just enjoy the game your way thanks for reading of you did side note you can do anything while you wait those were just on the top of my head 😅

1:44 it's pretty hard to not get the first 5 star. I found 2 times Grace 1 from standard banner and 1 from the ellen banner and its my only 5 star... i am a free to play soo yes it is actually hard to be this unlucky... (sorry for bad english)

So... is it reasonable to skip Hollow Zero and Shiyu Defense until Inter-Knot lv 40? I started wasting resources for many Agent just because i was thinking too much about elemental advantage for each nodes.
