Mark was a devout Catholic when he was a teenager but backslid and got into the Italian Mafia. He served 7 years in prison for drug related charges. I had been raised in a pastor's home but backslid and posed for Playboy for 15 years and acted in 12 adult films. But God was merciful to both of us! Praise God! We don't get the judgment we deserve but rather God’s grace.

Remember we are not holding onto him, even if we tried our grip is too weak, we would be wrenched from Him just like that in the twinkling of an eye by the power of darkness but we cannot be wrenched from Him, why? Because we are not holding onto Him, He is holding us with a grip that is perfectly firm and strong forever, that is why He said, no power, even the power of the consequences of our sin, nothing can pluck us out of His hand, with which He is holding us, nothing. Now just that on its own is more than enough assurance for anyone of us, in a perverse and crooked world, that all is well for those who look unto Him as the Author and Finisher of their faith, Who is coming soon, the next time without sin unto salvation.
