Before this Beyoncé hadn't addressed the illuminati rumours nor any cultural references in her songs. She also didn't address any of the police brutality stuff. She expressed it all and more in this video. Was so cool
Your emotional response to this was genuine. I felt that. As a Black woman, it was so amazing to see and hear the video. It was a celebration of our culture. It was political. It was a call to action in a sense. Honestly I think that Lemonade was her best visual. Until she decides to bless us with Renaissance visuals. 🤣🤣
this was a beautiful reaction ❤️ Beyoncé is a brave artist. for her to be as big of a celebrity as she is and not be afraid to speak up about issues is so commendable. she performed this song for the first time at the 2016 Super bowl ONE day after releasing it, and she had the dancers dress as the Black Panthers…very brave to be that political at such a huge event! she got a lot of backlash from racists for it, it was crazy! but i’m glad she never let that stop her from speaking up, she still does til this day!
Warms my heart to see people open their hearts and minds to something they wouldn’t otherwise experience. Beyoncé has a lot to say - not only in her music, but a lot of the time specifically in her visuals - and I think you caught a glimpse of it. Thank you for sharing your genuine, emotional reaction to that. Bey can be fun, she can be pop, she can be dancey, but too often her narrative is discredited. I’m glad you got to live in it for a moment. :) I can see many have already suggested it, but I’d recommend watching the Lemonade film. It’s quite a ride. :)
I’m so glad you actually listened to her message. I think that most people tend to just listen to the song and not experience the message. that’s why I LOVE beyonce. She always has an intention with her music. It always has a story. I’d love too see your reaction to the Lemonade film she did or Black is king. You got a new subscriber here! That actually made me emotional seeing that you also saw the impact of the message!!
As a Beyoncé fan I appreciate ur tears❤ This is an evolved Beyoncé but the evolution for me happens in that self titled album “smash into U” and “satellite”
Awww you brought me to tears watching your reaction. I love how you appreciated what the meaning of the song is. I have been a Beyoncé since 1998. Thanks for your reaction videos on her. You definitely earned a subscriber in me!
I had the same reaction, I just heard this song and watched the official video for the first time tonight and it brought tears to my eyes, so so so so creative and brilliant
What I always liked about this video is there's this touch of Southern Gothic to it - it's a celebration of Black culture, but there's always this undercurrent of the crises that have rocked the South in the last 20 years. I get that feeling with the "Sorry" video too.
Yes, it's a bit like Childish Gambino's This Is America. You have to keep watching it to see everything in it. And then think hard about the different interpretations and ideas that could come out of it. It's so so good.
Thanks for reacting to Beyoncé's music. To understand her talent best you should look at her Coachella performance. She was the first black female to headline and this song, Formation, was artfully arranged. People try to dismiss Beyoncé, but they fail to understand that performing live is what separates a good artist from a legendary artist. Michael Jackson vs Beyoncé as the GOAT is a legit question. The only name who may be added to this list is a young Korean man named Jungkook. These three have mastered the art of performance. There are better technical singers, but no greater live performers/vocalist.
Also recommended watching the entire Lemonade visual album, but especially Black is King. Black is King is *ART* and severely underrated. Even by the fandom.
I literally subscribed to your channel after watching this . Your reaction was so sincere ❤ and I appreciate that you are articulating/having a real critique.
Her songs “brown skin girl” And “spirit” and “ i was here” are all amazing songs. Every time i hear them, i cry. Two other great artists/ songs are Allen stone “consider me” and Chris Stapleton “sometimes i cry”.
Specificity is exactly the right word. She has something to say with this and with Lemonade. She was no longer the Beyoncé that people thought of when they thought Beyoncé, ya know? She came into her own finally.
I was like waiting for the crying and thinking, where is the crying and when the song was over and she pretty much didn't have words and started crying. I was crying too. And this song will never make me cry. It feels so empowered to me that I just feel like a bad B. But this reaction make me cry.
Black is King is a must watch. Especially if you love the Lion King. She tells that story in such a beautiful and unique way. I hope you get to watch the while visual album
i treasure this video. it and the whole visual album for lemonade and black is king will make you cry too. IMO this video is a discussion about gossip, lies, sexism, black girl magic, confidence, black pride & empowerment, but also the embedded effects of slavery and how it translates to our everyday lives in present day.
After watching the full Lemonade visual album, I would suggest watching Solange's When I Get Home visual album. It has a lot of strong themes in it as well.
Lemonade is such an iconic album and she just proves time and time again that she isn't overrated, she's star rated. Please listen to Steven Wilson - Pariah ft Ninet Tayeb ... but prepare the tissues.
I'm crying too ❤ Cried even more the first time I heard 'Brown Skin Girl', still do every time I hear it ❤ Recommend reacting to Loreen 'Euphoria' and her latest 'Tattoo'. With Eurovision coming up it should get plenty of views to your wonderful channel ❤
You should do album reviews of Bey, the singles dont cut it, you need the context of the album to truly understand and appreciate the music. great react tho!
you should do a reaction to Black Parade, also by Beyoncé, it is a powerful and masterful piece of art, I always say that Black Parade feels like a continuation of Formation, these two songs are FIRE and SOUL.
I love this reaction so much. IMO art should evoke a strong reaction albeit positive or negative. The fact that you felt so much listening/watching this just shows how powerful Beyoncé’s art is. ♥️
Thank u sooo much for reviewing this song & visual. When u cried, I cried. Because this song means so much to so many of us. A call of action, if u will. When u find the time, u should watch the entire Lemonade visual album. It is a visual/audible experience every woman can relate to. ✌🏾😚✨
