    As a former pop-up owner, enjoy seeing peoples mods on them. Might I suggest adding PopupGizmos bunk end covers to extend your seasons. When we had a pop-up they made a huge difference for both cold and hot weather.

      We don't camp in the summer, just too hot & the heater does a great job in the winter - so I don't see a need for this, just another item to set up - too much work in my opinion.

    Had a Jayco 1207 back in the 80's and did almost all the mods to mine that you did. Raised it for better off roading. Outdoor kitchen and everything, plus a screened in porch. I was single back then and my shower was a big hit at the singles campouts our Church did. I carried a 2 seat kayak and a tandum bicycle on my homemade roof rack that were always in demand. Lots of fun memories!

    Great work! Thanks for the video. I have a 2002 Viking Epic. I have done a lot of modifications. I’m wondering with the changes and additions you have made, how close you are coming to your GVWR as well as tongue weight? Has this been an issue?

    • @One2ManyHobbies
      @One2ManyHobbies  11 місяців тому

      Haven't had any issues - this 2280 came with 1,260lbs of CCC. I removed the heavy LEAD Acid batteries and moved the Lithium to the back, counter balancing the tongue weight for the other stuff I added.

    Just looked into getting one of these for my family. Hadn’t heard anything about plumbing issues. But looking at it I would imagine it’s because there’s no vents. Sewer lines need vents to drain, it would be the same as putting your thumb on top of a straw and then pulling it out of your drink. I couldn’t quite tell in the video how you solved this issue. Was that a pump on sewer lines?

    • @One2ManyHobbies
      @One2ManyHobbies  Рік тому

      Yes, I added a air vent, as well as connected the shower and sink into the same drain line. I have a separate video on the plumbing install.

    I just did the shower flip mod, that is going to make life MUCH easier.
    I also made my own water filtration system for a fraction of the price of the clearsource system AND with better filtration metrics. I got a dewalt drill battery adapter and 12v converter so I can run the pump from a drill battery that I'll already have (a 2ah battery will filter about 120 gallons of water and can easily be recharged from my car's built in 150w inverter). Grab the tub, throw the intake hose in the water source, and either fill jugs from the flexible 3' hose or hook it to an extended hose to fill the camper directly (if close enough). Or, maybe just bring a few 5 gallon jugs of water to filter and do it at the camper straight into the camper

I am so happy I bought a 1984 starcraft that is all galvanized body top bottom and walls and only weighs 1400lbs a lot of work to restore it but will last forever, compared to this thing sadly with a wood bottom... that's really sad and probably all plastic body. Lance- great stuff- love your responses to negative people- why do people care what you do or spend on your camper- Camp your way and enjoy- keep it up. I do want to get your advice on drilling holes in roof for solar gland- I can see you came in on the side where the factory wires and the tent has the wires running down- did you have any issues coming in from that point or any watch outs? Also did you drill new holes behind where the factory wires run down to storage area to fit the solar wires in?

    • @One2ManyHobbies
      @One2ManyHobbies  2 роки тому

      I went through the factory gland and ran new 12g wires through the canvas and into the body of the camper coming out next to the water heater - since the 12g wire was thinker, I did drill a 2nd hole into the camper next to the hole that came from the manufacture. Rockwood ran wire but there was a couple connection points i didn't like and I wanted thicker wire.
      Hope this helps.

      @@patricklacson The 12v Dometic is easier to keep the temp from freezing - the 3 way camper fridge on propane can be tricky to keep from freezing in the winter months camping when it's 30 +/- each day. I run the 3 way on propane, so it saved me power on my battery and the 12v doesn't draw that much power - that's a perk of the 12v especially in the winter months.

    Curious as to the Solar and batteries you are using. What are you running off those batteries? do you have a 40" TV you watch or a stereo at night? Maybe something else? I have a 2020 2280bhesp and have 200AH of deep state batteries and was thinking about adding 400w on the top to maintain daily and think i can get all my entertainment needs from the stock 1000w inverter ? TV/Stereo/phone charging/firestick/etc. What's you thoughts, will i need more for a 70w TV for nighttime use?

    • @One2ManyHobbies
      @One2ManyHobbies  Рік тому +1

      I do not have a TV - the 70w TV is per hour - so if you watch 4 hrs of TV - you will use 280 watt out of your 1200 watts of usable power - if it's cold were you're camping - the heater will use a lot of your power. I'm using Lithuim batteries - 1 big advantage is I'm about to use about 95% of my battery capacity, witch is 2400 watts or 200 amp hours whereas you're only able to use 1/2 of the power before you'll damage the batteries internal cells. Hope this helps.

    How much would you have to increase your battery bank to be able to use the AC? I love your mods, but definitely need an AC in S Texas during the summer

    • @One2ManyHobbies
      @One2ManyHobbies  3 роки тому +1

      I can run it now, but probably only 30 minutes - it would take a large battery bank & about 2,500 watts of solar - not enough roof space. Camp in the winter like I do! lol Free A/C

    Should really go 24 of 48 volts less amperage strain you don't need those thick cables what generally do cause heat problems bad connections and even fire

      Hey John, if I had a bigger battery bank, let’s say 600 amp hrs or more & a larger 120v draw I probably would have. I rarely if ever use the inverter.
