- Alicia and I did a little winter Europe trip to wrap up 2023. We visited Prague, Budapest, and Salzburg and had a grand ol' time. Plenty of photos were taken and plenty of Guinnesses were slugged. Hope you enjoy this mini tour around three wonderful European cities. Cheers!

Haha you know it!
Dude you are kidding me? My favorite photographer in my country? I hope you enjoyed it! Great video and photos as always 🤟🏻 I hope you enjoyed a lot of Guinness 😁
It was a wonderful trip!! Thanks for watching :)
those paragliding shots are incredible
Your processing of those Mamiya scans is magic! Paragliding shots at 19:46 and 20:13 are my favorite.
Thank you dude! Got lucky with those photos!
This video made me realise that the reason my photos never "wow'ed" me weren't the photos themselves - but the subject. All this time I've consumed american photography and really appreciated photos of american landscape. The photos I took didn't "wow" me because they portrayed my every-day surroundings and european landscape. It's just weird to realise this now, when I looked at your photos of europe and I was a lot less stunned than your usual content.
Don't get me wrong, there are great shots, it's just the subject that I'm too used to. This thought might even motivate me to go back to shooting photos and maybe travel more, for these photos to be interesting to me.
I'm from Budapest and it was beyond exciting to see the town through your eyes Brae, Budapest in the summer is the most beautiful and the most fun tho, so make sure to come back at some point haha
Thank you! Would absolutely love to return in the summer! Can imagine it's a great time!
Watched this video once and loved it. Then watched it again, with my girlfriend, as a way of pitching a trip across Europe this summer. Great stuff, mate.
Haha I love it! Hope it sold her!!
Incredible work as always, this video filled me with childlike wonder and joy
Haha love it. Thanks man
Cool to see you enjoyed Prague! I am currently an exchange student in Vancouver and will definitely swing by Seattle, Tacoma, and the surroundings to shoot some pics of your home state! The Pacific Northwest is beautiful.
Heck yes. The PNW is wonderful. Hope you're enjoying your time in Vancouver!
Really beautiful work. I appreciate how you shoot both digital and film and you make sense of the use case of each.
Did you do anything to protect your film during security checks?
Thank you! We flew in and out of Munich airport and they were kind enough to hand check my film.
Dudes metabolism runs on Guinness apparently. Paraglider shots were 🔥
Love your videos mate ... this is a fav
Thanks, Tim!
Really Inspiring
Appreciate it!
Whoa! Amazing in every way! I was kind of aware you two were traveling, but I was for whatever reason not expecting this. When you make these documentary style productions they are just home run fantastic every time! 🙏✌
Haha thank you, Bob! We had a great time. Cheers!
No way my partner would go on such an epic trip and deal with me photo nerding. Especially no camera operator work😂
Haha Alicia was a trooper 😂
Great video , really enjoyed watching 🍻
Thank you :)
Always enjoyed your format of video. Obviously wish to see more of European cities 😎 Thanks!
Will be back in May and June to capture more :)
Bravo! Bravo! It was hard to look away from this video! Keep them coming.
Thanks for watching!
these scans are so beyond beautiful. woah. amazing work as always dude.
Thanks so much dude
Putting that Snowball in the Weizen made me tear up 😂 jokes aside great content as always
Budapest is one of my favorite places (being from vienna). Great shots. Also awesome to get to spend a little time in Austria, I haven't been back in a while, and definitely not drinking in Salzburg...
Thanks dude! 🙏🏼
Damn that river boat part was nice.
ok holy crap those paraglide mountain shots were off the charts.
Than you! Both were very cool experiences!
Another amazing video as always. Those photos are beautiful.
Thank you!!
Exception video once again! I've been on the fence about getting the 43mm for my Mamiya, I think you sold me.Cheers!
Thanks for watching! I've been loving the lens so far! Would recommend trying it out.
Just ordered one yesterday, can't wait to try it out! Thanks!@@BraeHunziker
19:47 is probably my new favorite photo of yours, ever. It's absolutely incredible.
Thank you! That sunset x paraglider situation was just nuts haha
"Just rangefinder things" the things us rangefinder people have to go through 😅
Haha gotta pay to play!
My train from Munich to Prague back in 2016 was so breathtaking. Almost missed the train lol but it was so worth it. Cheers Brae!
Yea I just love those European train rides!
Alllll of this was so gooooood!! 💝
Thank you Liv ❤️
Love photography and, of course, love the G (Extra Stout)! Keep on traveling!
Hey Brae, Great video as always.
Your color editing for your pictures is peaking here, I hope one day you can show us how you edit in NLP, I'm very curious how you get those creamy sunsets!!!
I’ll put a video about the NLP workflow on the docket 👍🏻
Awesome Brae! Always been a dream of mine to go to Europe and see all the different sights! ✌️
It's hard to beat! Definitely recommend it
This photography video gave me a hangover. :P
Great shots!
dude those shots at 20:00 are some of the most incredible images ive ever seen.
Lucked out big time with that whole situation!
Really enjoyed this one!
Thanks!
Some of your best shots I've ever seen.
Thanks so much!
Lovely video Brae! Great to see you in my region and I am glad you had a good time here :)
It was a fantastic trip!!
Dude I loved watching the gaisberg footage. also nice video grading.
Thank you!!
BRAE! You came to my hometown Salzburg and I didn't get to meet you. That is very very sad. Still love that you covered it so beautifully!
If you ever come back, please reach out, i‘d be happy to be your tour guide!
It was a wonderful time in Salzburg! Wish we were there longer and I will 100% return at some point.
So cool man! If you are ever back, please let me know!@@BraeHunziker
Great Video ✨ That Sunset Was I N S A N E 😍😍😍😍
Thanks! Yeah it was a beauty
Hey man, that was really cool! The paragliders photos really are amazing, well done!
Finally someone who also abuses alcohol while shooting film. Dope video man. 🤙🤙
Putting those Guinness and Jagerbombs away like a dawgggg!
Haha got a little aggressive...
Alicia’s face after that shot 😂 PRICELESS!!
😂
Haha just some slight pain and agony
4:36 Dnoob river lol, I believe it's pronounced "Dan-You" lol.🤣🤣😜😜
I looked up 5 different pronunciations and they all said Danube but that's what I get for trusting the internet I guess
Looks like a fun adventure and trip! From a German point of view I hope someone offered to teach you how to properly pour a beer 😂
Haha I have already been ridiculed 😂 Sending my apologies!
Great trip man.
Thanks! Cheers.
how perfect are the colors in this video? how do you colorgrade? awesome video. can i buy the colorgrading-preset from you?
I have a full color grading tutorial on my channel. I use a free preset that is mentioned in the video too
Prague and Budapest are always beautiful! It's kinda funny that I sill have to visit Salzburg, considering it's te closest to me, probably around three hours by car.
I don't know if it open in winter, but in Prague, just under the metronome, there's a kiosk/open air bar with interesting local beers. Great place to have a pint at sunset admiring the city from the top, surrounded by locals and skaters!
About trains, yes, absolutely, I really don't understand why a big country like the US doesn't have a rail system connecting everything, especially nowadays with high speed trains.
Anyways, lovely pictures as always, the ones with the paragliders turned out amazing!
the metronome bar, the place is commonly known as Stalin btw, is only seasonal, so from around april to october:)
It's so frustrating to me that the U.S. doesn't have a system like that in Europe. It just makes so much more sense.
Thanks for watching the video! :)
You've had at least one Fraziskaner on this trip, so you get a plus point from me.
However the correct way of consuming it is to turn it upside down and tap the bottom at least once before you open it to enjoy the full flavour.
But what do I know, I'm only partly Austrian 🤣
Oh interesting! I will implement this pouring method next time. Cheers 🤠
Exceptional video man! Amazing photos, impeccable vibes. UA-cam doesn't get better than this.
Majorly appreciate it dude. Thanks!
It would be interesting to see photos on medium-format film taken with a zoom lens. It seems to me that these will be even more interesting compositions of distant architectural objects and beautiful places of details of cities from high points.
Really want a medium format camera every time I watch one of your videos. 😂
Careful, for they are an endless money pit 😅 (but worth it)
I'm glad that you succeded in your mission and were able to split the G - and also took some nice photos ;):
Thanks and thanks! 🤠
European trains? Come to Switzerland, you will be blown away! Looks like you had a great time...lovely video!
I've been to Interlaken but absolutely need to explore more!
It's so great to see that you came to Europe and to see your photos of some recognizable places here! Too bad that you didn't visit Szimpla Kert in Budapest, it's a interesting place :)
Just looked up a photo of that place, wow. Looks very interesting! I'll make a note for next time. Thank you!
Travelled through Austria, Budapest and Prague myself pre COVID, and this video was a lovely trip down memory lane. I agree it is a beautiful part of the world, such a shame I live more than 1/2 a world away. The upside is I have New Zealand just across the ditch and it has almost all that Europe has to offer (not as much history, Cathedrals or castles). You should swing by someday. I'll shout you a pint and you can split the G down under.
I really want to get out to New Zealand! Australia too. Will definitely give you a shout when I make it out there.
@@BraeHunziker I look forward to it
awesome video
Thank you!
"can i pet that dawg?!" - Almost pissed myself with that one 😁😂🤣
hahaha
Wonderful video, i love this one veeery much. I have been to those towns. I like Guinness too. Hovet come u like it so much?
Thank you! Really light beer despite it being a stout, great texture, only 4.1% alcohol, just creamy goodness!
@@BraeHunziker and you can drink a lot without being drunk or to drunk... 😁
I was thinking maybe you were from Ireland or something. :) 😀
Great video. How did you color grade the video or used a LUT?
I have a video on my channel showing my full color grading process!
These shots are incredible!! what was your experience on the 45mm lense? i always have issues focusing thru the viewfinder, it always seems like its not perfectly focused and slightly off.
Thanks for this! Incredible video all together; made my saturday loll
Thanks! So far, it seems to be working fine. Most of my shots with it were wider landscapes and shot at f/8 or f/11 so wouldn't be able to tell if there were any focusing issues.
damn, this is so good bro!! Watching this while drinking a glass of glenfiddich 18 haha
Good ol' glass of Scotch! Thanks for watching!
5:40 Cool hot-air balloon over the city in the background...
Love it! Dan Yoob btw, just saying x
Yeah I looked up numerous pronunciations and kept hearing Danube so I figured that's what it was. My mistake
This is so fun to watch, makes me really want to go to these cities. How do you handle Mamiya 7 + video camera at all times? My neck can’t handle medium format camera plus DSLR lol. I guess X100V in your pocket is taking all the clips? Great video man
Thank you! I have the Mamiya around my neck, x100v in my pocket, then the Sony a7iv connected to my backpack with one of those Peak Design backpack clips. My neck and back didn't feel good by the end of this trip lol...
Gotcha. Thanks for the quick reply. Really excited for the next video :)
I'll give you a pass on that plastic cup guinness just because of your sheer commitment to splitting the G 😂 Stunning video and photos man, love to see it.
It was a surprisingly decent Guinness actually haha. And thank you very much man ❤️
Brilliant video. Looks like you had a great trip. Happy B-Day by the way. If you ever make it over to Norway, look me up. We have an Irish Pub in my town. :)
I will be in Norway in May/June! I was born in Stavanger actually. Have been back many times since. Which town are you in?
WTH? You were born in Stavanger? That´s where I live! Small world. Let me know if you want a pint when you're here. First one is on me. :) @@BraeHunziker
No way haha! I will most likely visit Stavanger in early June. Do you have Instagram? If so, shoot me a message on there so we can stay in touch! @@briantallman244
Damn, I would've loved to show you around Salzburg. There are so many beautiful, hidden spots tourists never find.
The lake at 16:18 was frozen over a few days ago. People were ice-skating there 👌
Awesome that you found the Whiskey Museum. A girl I know works there. We shot some awesome portraits back in October up at the church at 15:15. There's a small field up there just at the right height where you'll get the steeple in the background.
Yeah I wish we had more than one day in each of these places!
@@BraeHunziker Yeah, Salzburg is very small, but one day definitely isn't enough 😅But you guys made a lot of that day.
You are a beautiful romantic couple❤! Very interesting video, thank you😊! Beautiful photos. Wow, how much beer was drunk, passion🍻))
have you ever seen the show Meat Eater? your videos always remind me of an episode of that show very similar vibe
I know of it but haven't watched an episode yet! I'll check it out!
Nooo, if I’d known I would like gladly bump into you in Prague, haha. Hope you had a good one.
I hope to be back relatively soon! Would love to meet up with some local photographers next time!
@@BraeHunzikeryou killed those glider photos. I have been to Austria twice (Glossglockner and Hallstatt area) and I hope to visit the country again soon. Though for me it’s a 5 hour ride, should be easy. Priorities elsewhere for now. But you gave me a huge itch with this.
wonderful video, thank you. But the Eis in das Hefeweizen, da müssen wir aber nochmal drüber sprechen.
Haha yes I am deeply sorry for my actions...
what camera u used to film that video? =)
This was the Sony a7iv with the Sony 24-70 ii
You sure that snowball was white …? 😉
Haha probably should have done a more thorough check 😂
It cringed me so hard as a German, seeing you pour a Weißbier like that and also putting snow in it.
I apologize for my actions haha
Just out of curiosity, what's the proper way to pour a beer like that? Just slower and smoother?
yes 😆@@BraeHunziker
Yes, slower and smoother. You also have to leave a couple of sips in the bottle and swing it in cercle motions to get all the remaining yeast out of the bottle and pour it in to the glass😅
12:00 Yeah the rail system is great in Europe with the exception of the UK which is a big pile of dog dodo.
Hahaha 😂
Great tour and photography. Just a tip when showing the still images - it would work better with a black border rather than white. The white tends to affect contrast on the image. A black border will let the image leap out rather than shrink back with a white.
Thanks! Yeah I've tried black backgrounds before, but have always preferred the look of a white border. Just a personal preference thing I suppose.
You should add all your pictures to the monuments on google maps! I am done with all those flip phones pictures (too ugly)
My God buddy, careful with the alcohol. Otherwise a very fun video.
Lol when you compile every moment spent drinking over the course of nine days into a 20 minute video it can look a little aggressive.. 😅
Damn, you were in Prague? I should be more careful to social media, would love to give you some tips for photo spots.
Well I hope to be back sooner than later! Loved it there!
An erotic journey from Milan to Minsk😆
haha precisely 😂
1st? 😢
You were in Prague, I'm from Prague... f*ck. Maybe next time 🙂
We only had one full day in each of these places so we were a bit short on time. Would love to spend some more time in each spot at some point!
@@BraeHunziker These places are not just for one day ;-)
Putting that Snowball in the Weizen made me tear up 😂 jokes aside great content as always
Haha yes I deserve to be punished for that ...
