- The WindSaber is our strongest 2P tent for the biggest alpine objectives. In this video, we do a step by step walkthrough of the three different ways to set up the tent, depending on the weather conditions on your trip.
Standard setup: 1:10
High wind setup: 4:26
Lightweight setup: 7:11
I've been watching you guys for a long time and was seriously impressed when I got to really look over one of your tents on the Rae Lakes Loop. I want to challenge you though. As we all know, 2 person tents aren't ACTUALLY two person tents, unless both people are built like Killian Journet. So where in your line is the 3 person tent that weighs around 5-7lbs in total weight? Do you see how attractive that tent would be? Two people splitting the weight of a three person tent and at the end of the day they have REAL space to rest in. Until you do this, I may have to settle on a 3p Fjallraven Abisko Endurance at 6lbs 11oz, but I would really love to see what you guys come up with. I mean, the way you integrate trekking poles into the designs is just genius. Ok. Seriously, bring it up and set your minds to it. It's a conspicuous hole in the line up.

Hey Matt! We've been toying with the idea of adding a 3P version of the CrossBow to our lineup for a while. I think it would be a sweet tent! The WindSaber makes great use of the available space because of its floor shape (wider at the shoulders/torso) and vertical head wall, so it feels roomier than the square footage would suggest. It also might be worth checking out the 2P CrossBow in person. Since it's aimed at winter and alpine use, it's larger than most 2P tents, especially 3-season ones. But, it certainly isn't as roomy as a 3P would be for 2 people. It's a much smaller market than 2P tents and since we're such a small company we need to wait until our 2P tents are well established before we can afford to introduce different sizes- for instance, we're only just introducing 1P and 3P versions of our Portal next spring! A lightweight 3P four-season tent has been on our list for a while, though.
Ok, now for the windy rainy weather setup technique ;)
you can use the integral pitch technique from the CrossBow if you want! It's a little more complicated because of the front pole on the WindSaber so we didn't include it in this video. But if you really need to you could make it work.
