Whether or not we get to hear him play in this sort of context again we should be showing him the love for sharing his beautiful compositions such as this and the many others he has through the years. Yeah, we know who you are brother. Thanks Vito, this is some kick ass shit! I for one will always hold you and your creations in the highest regard. I consider myself fortunate to have seen you live as well. Take care man. 👍👍

Just like the lyrics of the song says --- "I cried tonight, are you feeling alright?" --- cuz this is how I feel about Vito and him being away from music for 30+ years

Vito Bratta is my favourite of all time. His rhythm-lead combo of riffs were something to behold. Every some is a guitarists' masterpiece.

So earlier today I was on a short drive with my son and we picked up Little Fighter just as the solo was beginning and I turned it up ridiculously loud announcing it as "Vito's best solo" just as he laid into it.
And let me tell you he Rocked 🤘.
I hadn't heard it in a while so I was in another place as the happy notes danced through my ears.
More importantly they danced through my son's ears for the first time and he was totally impressed.
The legend of Vito Bratta passed to another generation.
It's later on in the day now and I wanted to send him a link to the whole song and when searching for it, up popped the official video.
I watched it for the first time in years and, I'm not ashamed of my Hair Metal roots at all, but I just couldn't send that link because of all the glitz and glam.
It wasn't just the look, the hair and makeup but also the way the video is shot, with the constantly shifting angles and flashing lights. Too much Mike Tramp lingering and whatnot.
The whole package seemed designed to obscure what was so good about the song...Vito's guitar.
Look, I love the era. I love Mike Tramp and I understand why he couldn't give up the California beach life. A young man with lots of money, motorcycles, bon fires on the beach and an endless stream of blonde babes with big boobs...I get it.
People think White Lion broke up because Vito got tired of the biz and went home but there was another component.
Mike Tramp achieved young man nirvana and wouldn't give it up. He started spending too much time in his Beach world and not enough time working and contributing to a band's musical output.
Vito got tired of the biz aaaaaand got tired of seeing Mike prosper without putting in the work.
So he took his guitar and went home, taking White Lion with him.
But I want my son to know White Lion for it's true guiding force and that is Vito Bratta the man.
That's how I ended up finding your site. I love this rendition of Little Fighter. I love hearing the rhythm guitars with no distraction. I love how Vito carries the melody while doing little lead fills all over the place.
They say he's like Eddie and I hear why they say it but Vito's touch is so much more deft and repeatable. Eddie's solos are on the edge of wild.
Like the notes he's inspired to play come so fast and strong to him he can barely catch them all and even he, with his prodigious dexterity, struggles to play them all.
Vito's solos seem more complete and fully actualized. Better planned because his technique is more mastered. His approach is studious while Eddie's is more improvised.
Don't get me wrong, any comparison to Eddie Van Halen is a compliment of the highest order. That's the way I believe Vito sees it and how he talks about it.
Vito has more to offer than the moment often needs but has so many ideas he can't help himself. Maybe he overplays at times. So what? It's another way he's like Eddie. They both can overplay and artistically, they have to choose what to cut out more often than not knowing what to put in.
    There's that famous quote from
Emperor Joseph II about Mozart's latest opera score having "too many notes".
The truly great always have more to offer, not less. I'm sure Vito has more but it's not for our ears to hear and we gotta accept that.
Personally I wish he would just set up a camera and some good microphones, grab a chair and kick back with a guitar just noodling around and talking. Play something really cool he just thought of and talk about it.
Play some of the old stuff while looking back on the good times.
Just him, his guitar and his music...

This beautiful, melodic, jam packed masterpiece always brings me joy. I feel that Vito and Edward are somehow connected in a cosmic, musical sense, both of them sharing joy and power with their beautiful melodies. I hope that Vito is doing well and I hope that he knows that we have much love for him!!!

Brian May has said "Get The Funk Out" by Extreme has the best solo ever. With respect to him, and that performance, THIS Is the best solo of all time.
