Yeah my Audi S5 is a sleeper especially now that it's Stage 2 with 460hp although it's not considered affordable for a new one however mine used was 24k and is a convertible and I probably put in about 3k to make it stage 2 so essentially it is still cheaper than this Camaro.
Magowin any Audi with an S badge is also not a sleeper. They come with supercharged engines. If it was an A4 with a Stage 2-3 APR then it would have been considered a sleeper.
al The term sleeper is something that looks like a normal everyday car that one wouldn’t think it is fast by looking at it. There is virtually no visual difference between the A & S badge Audi’s besides the badge itself the RS badge Audi’s are where visually the body is wider. If one were to take the S badge off no one would know it’s an S. You can’t take any badge off of a Camaro it still looks like a Camaro therefore it’s not considered a sleeper. Another example of this is a Ford Taurus SHO that too was a sleeper it looked like any other Taurus visually except for what was under the hood & chassis.
Ford guy here, and I'm digging the LT1. I actually prefer the frontend of this over the SS. Still think the ZL1 is the best looking, and probably the best performance bargain in the world.
@Wes Foulds I have as well, but that's because I drive mostly Fords. Most of the issues I've had were my fault though, like not doing routine maintenance and simply driving them too hard. The most miles I've ever got out of a vehicle were in a Ford, 2004 Econoline, 797,000 miles and the motor is still in amazing condition. That being said, I'm still getting a Camaro.
Those plastic kneepads are supposed to pop off easily. I put the leather ones from a higher trim Camaro in mine and it makes a huge difference in the interior

The Chevy's v6 sounds amazing. The mustang hpp is awesome in every way, and the Dodge cruises like no other. You can't go wrong with any trim level, and this is a second golden age of cars.

You can add a little more aggressive appearance to the LT1, If you want to take out some of the "sleeper " by adding the RS option along with Redline addition. Redline adds black wheels along with those red accents, and spoiler will be black. RS will give you those nice clear but smoked tail lights. Add red paint to those front Brembo breaks. And make sure to have the Duel mode exhaust. It will Also look just like my LT1 (2021). Thats what I have, same color as this LT1 in video. But I have an 8" display screen. technology package
Informative and concise review 👍🏽 In fairness to Chevrolet those trim pieces aka knee pads are also sold as interchangeable accessories in different colors/materials, therefore they are made to pop out relatively easily.
I picked up an LT1 in riverside blue for 37k with the technology package, 20 inch polished forged aluminum rims, bose audio, dual mode exhaust, and red seat belts. I had a Challenger R/T before. I loved that car as well, but the Camaro is much better around turns.
@Ani It really depends. Mine came with a lot of options for an LT1 and they gave me a solid deal on it. The sticker price was $44k but I talked them down.
Just putting "LT1" on the fender in that sweet emblem is a HUGE hit. Nostalgic. Wish the SS had the same type of Heritage labeling ..... old school. ...... like the "392" Challenger.
As a die hard Pontiac fan who loves to drive my '91 GTA, I've been in search of a technology replacement. Your review is spot-on. But as an investment, all of the big3 are poor. Like you I like all three for different reasons. But this LT1 may be the bang for the buck.

I really like this version of the Camaro . The LT1 is the one to get now. 34k, that's a great value equation. The interior is a little cheap and bland imo. But performance is friggin spot on.

AS long as the GM doesn't have electrical issues you should be ok. However the heavy comment is spot on. I have an old 09 Mustang that's modded and with the same HP I'm going right by you. It's going to surprised the amount of cars still quicker than you.

The powertrain is identical to an SS. The suspension is identical. The only difference is the rear tires are 1" narrower and the rear brakes aren't quite as good. The front brakes are the same. So, yes.

The camaro isnt a muscle car, muscle cars are by definition midsized sedans with drivetrains borrowed from full sized cars. The point of this car is that it resembles the 4 and 6 cylinder cars while packing the V8 power, making it a sleeper.

A muscle car is supposed to be based on mundane cars and retain the mundane version's utility. Charger 392 is a perfect example. Doesn't really apply to Camaro or Mustang though. _Not to be confused with_ American muscle, which just means that it's powered by an awesome V-8 (and it's American branded) which absolutely does apply to all these cars.

Instead of them giving it an entirely new name, why didn't the just split the Rally Sport into two different versions : The *RS-6* (V-6) and the *RS-8* (V-8) .
Given the IIHS crash test scores for the Challenger, I'm not so sure this is necessarily right for a family. And given its "mediocre" rated structure, it's no wonder there's no drop top Challenger!
I like most everything about this car except the low roofline. The cabin is too dark and uncomfortable. . I don't understand after all of these years why GM has not changed that aspect of this car. The low roofline and blind spots have always been a major complaint about this car since it was introduced in 2009.
Steven D That’s one of the only downsides to the LT1 as opposed to the SS. In the SS, you get a staggered wheel setup with 245s in the front and 275s in the rear; the LT1 has 245s all around. I imagine that must hamper the car’s ability to put down the power, at least to an extent

Chris, you didn't mention one of the biggest advantages of the Camaro. You can drive it with blinders on (like a racehorse). Given the visibility provided by the stock Camaro the blinders won't limit your visibility anymore than usual.
A freakin 10 speed auto. With that much H.P. & Torque listed, why in the hell would you put a damn automatic in? A 4 speed standard shift would be ideal to make this into a (REAL) sports cars.
The 10 speed automatic is telepathic in this vehicle. I grew up on stick shifts but in this vehicle the automatic is insane. Always in the right gear and instantaneous shifts with no jerking, faster, and better fuel economy. You're thinking of slushbox automatics of the past. Go test drive one at your local Chevy dealer.
No, this car isn't as luxurious or as meticulously built as a Benz or a BMW. It doesn't cost like one either. The suspension and drivetrain is where GM chose to spend the money.

Um you don’t have to applaud Chevy for including a back up camera, it’s required equipment for ALL new cars from 2018+

Those 392's are nice, but they are heavy man. You can just feel all that weight, plus reliability with Dodge is a little questionable.

The LT1 model in particular is a sleeper because on the exterior it has a V6 bumper and no front and rear badging that the other V8s all get.

This isn't a sleeper... A Camaro is suppose to be fast. A sleeper would be something like a full size sedan that hauls ass.

A freakin 10 speed auto. With that much H.P. & Torque listed, why in the hell would you put a damn automatic in? A 4 speed standard shift would be ideal to make this into a (REAL) sports cars.
The 10 speed automatic is telepathic in this vehicle. I grew up on stick shifts but in this vehicle the automatic is insane. Always in the right gear and instantaneous shifts with no jerking, faster, and better fuel economy. You're thinking of slushbox automatics of the past. Go test drive one at your local Chevy dealer.
Lack of real rear seats is another drawback, but the car itself is pretty cool.
If you want real rear seats you are shopping in another demographic.
And visibility and the feeling you're sitting in a bathtub.
Challanger for cool and retro factor
No, this car isn't as luxurious or as meticulously built as a Benz or a BMW. It doesn't cost like one either. The suspension and drivetrain is where GM chose to spend the money.
