Gorgeous Fauxbonichi. You have a lovely way of mixing images and lettering to make really captivating pages.I can't wait to see some more of your pages and to hear about your daily life, Ali x
Thank you, Ali. I really appreciate that, especially coming from someone whose talents I admire so much! You've been such an inspiration for me, and I thank you so much for sharing your wonderful journals. Hugs, Cathy
LOL, that's very kind of you to say, too, but I haven't really been doing anything steadily creative during my lifetime, up until the last 10 years or so, when I started making scrapbook pages and then handmade cards. The drawing, mixed media, and other art-type stuff I've only been doing for a year and a half or so, but I really love it! xoxo
I came here having watched your fun JB5 swap sessions with Linda Lapotka, not knowing what a Fauxbonichi Journal was, and I really loved it! The Woody story, the excitement at receiving new art/craft supplies, family events, evenings out - I enjoyed it all. And now I realise that I have been doing something like this for the last 7 months. So I shall go now and check out the Fauxbonichi group on FB. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks for sharing. I keep something similar. A notebook with tickets from a show, cards I received in the mail, stickers from my granddaughter, etc. I like the idea of putting a photo of who you went to the concert with behind the poster. Clever idea.
+Laura Murphy Thanks Laura. Unfortunately, I haven't kept up very well with mine - I got busy with too many other things. I'm sure I will get back to it eventually, though, because I really love doing it. Thanks for watching!
Thank you - I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Yes, please do check out my washi tape video. It's in two parts here's a link for part 1: m.ua-cam.com/video/RSFNXzP7n3o/v-deo.html It's so fun and easy to make - hope you enjoy! 😊
Enjoyed your flip through. Your pages are wonderful. I loved the Woody story, too funny! The foils were a great addition to your girl. I keep a journal everyday and have for five years +. I change it up and do something a little different every year. Keeps things interesting.
Thanks, Carol. This is my first journal EVER, and I'm really enjoying it. I'm looking forward to the day I have several years worth sitting on a shelf! 😊
I loved your woody story. When I seen him laying there in your picture I was thinking the same thing! I love the idea of this journal. I need to start one. Ive been wanting to do any type of journaling for about 5 years.
Thank you! That was a funny little moment for me, I'm glad you enjoyed it! 😊 this is a really fun way to do a journal. It's easy, too, especially when you can use stickers and washi tape to help fill in the spaces. The group on Facebook also provides prompts for days when you may not have a lot to write about but you still want to play in your journal. Thanks for watching! 😊
Oh you are still dragging with that cold. I am afraid to say that I take a Young living supplement called Inner Defense to keep from getting a cold. I know as soon as I say it is working I will get a cold. I have only been taking it two months so the story is done yet. LOL It is so hard when the cold hang on so long. I love your Fauxbonichi. I never kept a journal before and this is so much fun. I added your note to my page for yesterday I used clear tape and added it to the middle like little extra pages. I think it is cool that you started when you wanted and didn't wait. "Don't put of to tomorrow what you want to do today" I found out that my step son that is living with us has one. He has a couple of journals. One is all about fishing. His grandfather kept journals at the cabin for many many years. I think that is were he got the idea. I enjoyed the flip through. TFS Have a wonderful weekend!
Linda Lapotka Hi Linda, I sure hope the supplement you're taking works, because this is not fun. I'm so glad you like my Fauxbo. I have never kept a journal before either, so I'm thrilled! Yes, I figured I'd already put it off for 10 years and I wasn't waiting any longer! Aw, you added my note from the pocket letter to your journal? That's awesome! And how cool that your stepson is keeping journals, too! Thanks so much for watching and I hope you enjoy a wonderful weekend as well! Happy Mother's Day! :) Cat
Laurie Richardson Haley LOL, thanks Laurie, that was a funny moment for me. Glad you enjoyed it. I'm glad you like my journal. And yes, we must embrace the foils! :D
Loved your stories, Cat... I got that same exact journal but with a red cover. Didn't like the color that much but it was the only one left. Now I need to spill some coffee on the first blank page to overcome my perfectionism. ;-)
Oh thanks for explaining what a fauxbonichi is! and that's funny about the doll.. lol and LOL I love the entry with the girl with the foils in her hair. HAHA! I'm a coffee girl too! oh that sounds nice..that experience with the birds.. the music concert sounds nice..Ok so I see what this type of journal is all about now. :) OH! I was wondering what you look like! Thanks for giving us a tiny glimpse. hahaha...
Glad you enjoyed it Linda. LOL, I know, it was a really tiny picture, sorry! If you are interested in seeing a better one, go check out Linda Lapotka's video where she shows the pocket letter I sent to her. I included a picture of myself and she shows it, lol. m.ua-cam.com/video/BpeF6H5rUHs/v-deo.html Thanks for watching! 😊 Cathy
Aw, that's great Annie! I'm sure you'll enjoy it! BTW, I'm not sure when your birthday is, but I apologize if I missed it and hope it is/was a happy one! 😊 xoxo
+anniexhx LOL! I must be losing it! I was thinking you were doing the pocket letters and it was part of a birthday giveaway. I wasn't able to participate because I've had so much going on lately. Obviously TOO MUCH! LOLOL 😄
Hello Cat, Thank you for sharing your journal. It is wonderful, so artsy. I love it. I look forward to seeing more pages :) . I really enjoyed you and Linda swapping your Journaling by 5 journals. The pocket letter you sent her is just gorgeous. I love that kitty :) You are so talented. I'm very inspired. Iris,SavedbyGrace
Aww, thank you Iris, for all those sweet comments! Linda and I have really enjoyed doing the JB5s swap! I'm glad you like my little kitty. It was a print of a mixed media card I made last year and I thought she might like it. So funny that we gave each other pocket letters, without ever talking about doing that! LOL Thanks so much for watching! 😊
Yeah, well, that is a problem... I loved creating in the fauxbonichi, but I just didn't have time to keep up with it. I may get back to working in it some day, though... TFW! 🙂
You seem to be such a wonderful woman! I just subscribed to you. I'm 14 and I must say your grandchildren are lucky to have such a wonderful grandma! ❤️❤️ Big hugs!
wow Cat, love your pages so far. so glad you took the time to explain it all. can not wait for more......i love my hobonichi. Its great being able to see what others are journaling about. i could watch you for hours......heres hoping for many more pages...ps, my computer is up and running. lol
oh, fauxbonichi. I'm glad you told us what this is. I have been thinking people were going on about the Fibonacci sequence, lol😄 Really beautiful, Cat. I have started a diary too, a couple of years ago. A midori. I have been meaning to do it for years and finally got bitten by the bug😊
Thank you! Unfortunately I haven't done much in that journal for a while. There are just too many things I want to do and it's hard to find the time for everything... TFW! 😊
Thanks again for this video!!!! I started my fauxbonichi and posted my first 2 pages in the group on Facebook. granted it looks like a second grader did them but hopefully I will improve! I tried to tag you but it didn't work.
Hi Lisa! I just now found your post one the FB group and left you a comment! Like I said over there, I like your pages and I hope you are enjoying it! I'm really glad you jumped in! 😊 When you tag on FB, just type the person's name normally (no @ sign, and put a space between the first and last name) and it should work. 😊
I really like your journal, and the way you are recording your daily life. I thought about doing one before, but how many ways can you illustrate "got up, went to work, came home, ate, went to bed"??? LOL
Thanks, Lori! Lol, you are so funny! But, c'mon, now, I don't believe for a second that you couldn't find some fun stuff to journal about! Like enjoying a walk, a shopping trip, a trip to the hairdresser, LOL or even a random silly thought that went through your head, like mine about the Woody doll. 😄 And I'm not really doing mine on a daily basis, at least not yet. Maybe I will down the road, once I can figure out a good routine. But it is lots of fun, and it feels really good to have pages filled and something to leave behind one day for family to hopefully enjoy and know who I was and what I enjoyed. 😊
Thanks Cat! I didn't see if you use watercolor our not on the Piccadily book. I am thinking of purchasing one and I was wondering since you like to watercolor if that is something you can do in this book. Thanks! Juliana And I love how organized your pages look. And you can really draw!! Something I would like to do one day! Thanks!!
Juliana Beasley Hi, Juliana - I didn't see this message until now... Thanks for your sweet comments! I think I might try adhering a couple of pages together and then use a little watercolor sometime, just to see how it goes. Then if I like it, maybe I'll do more. My problem right now is finding the time to work in my fauxbonichi! But I'm going to figure something out - I really want to do this! Thanks for watching and I hope you have a great week! :)
you prolly dont care but if you're stoned like me atm you can watch all of the latest movies on Instaflixxer. I've been watching with my gf during the lockdown =)
Well, personally, I thought your video wasn't long enough! I love watching your videos. Sorry that you to deal with rude people making useless comments though.
+Galina Kariean Hi Galina - sadly, no - I have so many things going on that some things get left behind. Hopefully I will pick it up again sometime, as I love doing it! TFW! 😊
I want to start something like this as well but I'm still looking r for ideas and stuff to put in, cuz I don't want to spend too much on it. I have a similar black notebook but it doesn't have the math gird on it. Do I have to have the math grid on it or I can't just use my normal small lines?
Hello and thank you for watching! No, you don't have to have anything special, you can use any kind of book you want. And you don't have to spend a lot on supplies either, just use what you may already have. You can use pens, pencils, crayons, stencils, stickers, stamps, pics from magazines, catalogs or junk mail - anything goes! Just have fun! 😊
MRS CAT HAND MIGHTY ARTIST - This is an intimation from all cat lovers for a tutorial of MR WHISKERS received by MRS LINDA..... please, pretty please :-) wink wink wink ....
LOL, Candida, you are TOO funny! And oh my goodness, I LOVE the name you gave him! 😊 Believe it or not, that thought ran through my head yesterday and now you've got it running around in there again. LOL Okay, here's the deal... I have a couple of other projects that I need to do first, but since you made such a sweet proclamation (I could almost hear the horns blowing, lol) I will do a video showing my process for making Mr. Whiskers when those are done. It may be a week or two (or even three...) so as long as you're okay with the wait.....
Woody came to life! 💛❤💙🤠💙❤💛
😁😁😁
What a wonderful way to journal Cat, you and the family will look through these with fondness.
Thank you, Janet! 😊

Awesome! So you're a fiction writer, huh? 😛
Cat Hand Actually, I do like to write. But I usually only write scenes, as opposed to plotting out a whole book. I just do it for fun.
That's cool! 😊
