The Treasury?
You have to keep it to collect taxes.
Taxes?
Abolish.
The defense department can't pass an audit. Lol
Dude wants to sell all the national parks. The one place working class families can vacation for next to nothing.
Shocker, a billionaire want most government departments gone so he and his friends can run the the country in a way to solely benefit them. I'm stunned.
Interesting that he is mostly only interested in keeping things that give the government physical power over people
Id love to see him elaborate more on why he wants to abolish the ones he did. I am very interested it anyone knows
If you get rid of dept of Agriculture, who is going to pay the farmers to not grow food.
One of the main functions of the federal government at the founding of the US is regulating interstate commerce.
His “genius” was taking market theory and the successes of capitalism and turning privatization and deregulation up to 11, leading to neoliberal economics which we’re finally growing out of but not before deindustrialization and the bad name it’s given to capitalism
Right, keep all of the ones that help the ultra rich and the corporations but abolish the ones that help ordinary people. Makes sense to me!
Is this where Elon got his idea to end a large portion of the 400+ federal agencies?
Some things need regulation! Department of Labor is one of them! No one shpuld be working to the point of not having the chance to see their families nor work long hours without compensation.
Who protects workers rights without the department of labour?
None for thee, more for meeeee
very interesting clip!
Does this guy know the dept of Ag includes thousands of wildland firefighters. Protecting millions of acres.
Every government agency was established for a reason. People should look up why each exists.
I fail to understand what his vision of a government is. Every man for them selves? If you get hurt or sick that’s your fault?
Presidency....gone....senate...gone...congress.....gone....😮Target....keep....Walmart...keep....Duncan Donuts ..keep....😮
Department of Energy should be renamed to science. They do a lot of science research that everybody uses.Private Businesses use the labs because it has stuff they cant afford to build themselves.
The Department of the Interior handles the census, which is something that is required.
IRS...GONE!
Shouldve asked him if we should abolish AIPAC... 😂
Evidence that Milton knew nothing. Things don't need to make a profit to be for the public good. He just sees life as dollar signs.
I would like to hear the reasons why
Sounds like an elitist with no regard for the well-being of most Americans. To me, he's a spiritual idiot because he lacks love for people.
Keeping all the evil ones getting rid of the ones that help us
Id like to see a percentage of fed. spending this would save
Many examples of parts of city's destroyed by housing urban development and documentary's about projects that explain that.
Is this where milei got his inspiration of the "AFUERA" video?
Keep the Department Of The Interior just for the National Parks, National Preserves and National Forests
Love it!!!
JD Vivek and Elon have all watched this
This is a great clip and it aged well. He wants the federal government out of state affairs. The state can own land like a park or landmark but the fed shouldn't. It's a violation of the constitution.
Probably one of the smartest economists ever to live. I have been a major supporter for the abolishment of the Departments of Education and Energy my entire life but now I feel I should do more research into the others listed as I never have.
I’m sure he’s proud of what he’s done to America, there not gone but there not funded either, all the money funneled into military and pensions
Very factual.
Couldn't agree more!!
Awesome man. Miss you, milton
I thought the government wasn't allowed to own land? They can preserve it, but not own.
So much new potential!!!
Government needs to be revamped in a big way, but I am sure Congress will stop a lot of the proposed changes from the DOGE.
Love the way this man thinks!!
Wow, sounds great
I have listened to Dr. Freeman 6 years. I have learned a lot of our government waste tax money is
Understood what he try to do....this opportunity, give power for people that get it....
Spot on !
I agree with all of these
We should do that...clean house, i mean
Love it
Amazing.. please say more
Milton Friedman's ideas certainly make you think out of the box. It is also such a treat to see this journalist from the Hoover Institute! I've seen him interview Thomas Sowell numerous times. Unfortunately, I don't know the name of this journalist. He is always well prepared, knowledgeable, asks pointed questions. He is so young in this interview, but as focused as ever.
More videos like this! Love the edit
Pretty much what Ron Paul was suggesting back in 2008. Other than keeping Treasury. He would get rid of them first!
And now that the DOJ is polluted it needs to go, too. Homeland security and Patriot Act eliminated!
I like this
Sick stuff
Love Milton Friedman
Milton Friedman, one of our best economic minds in America. Next to him, the great Thomas Sowell.
one of the biggest frauds ever.
Now we know where Milei got his "AFUERA!" approach from. 😂. The legend himself. 💪
Shut down the FBI and ATF
We need to keep the DOT but it's mission must be redefined.
Abolish education?
A brilliant mind. Back when we had real intellectualism on the right.
Speed run. Very interesting
Simple, to the point and I hope these suggestions become real in the near future.
Milton Friedman
Born: July 31, 1912, New York, NY
Died: Nov 16, 2006 (94 years), San Fran CA
Great precision analyst.
Vivek and Elon are about to make his advice come to pass.
I don’t agree with all his points, but he makes A lot of good points
This guy just did Elon and Vivek's job in 30 seconds.
Love this discussion. I am tired of our government spending our tax dollars with little or no accountability.
Milton Friedman such a smart intelligent astute man who knows what he is talking about. Winner of the1976 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences for his research on consumption analysis, monetary history and theory and the complexity of stabilization policy.
Brilliant. One of the 10 greatest minds of the 20th century
Yes the states can do some of their own government
Excellent timing of historical interview of on of America’s greatest financial experts!
He is 💯 correct.
Straight and to the point. Love it.
Surely that would be a great idea
Finally!
Smartest man in the room economically speaking!!
I miss him!! He was one of Thomas Sowells teachers/mentors
Such a BRILLIANT human being, what a terrible loss when Milton Friedman passed (nearly 20 yrs ago now).
Let’s go DOGE! 🎉
Love Milton Friedman. He has been a sane voice in economics since the 70’s. We sure could use his clear thinking today.
The man makes sense.
Excellent, asking a senior economist about which elements of the state are consistent with the state defending the interests of the people.
He’s definitely on the right track
Right on
Love him
we know who lobby’s for the military industrial complex
I love those ideas
100 per cent correct
Wonderful man he will be missed.
The world needs Milton more now than ever!
That’s perfect! 🤩 ❤
Agree with all except Department of Labor. Federal labor law must be enforced. States do not have the gumption to protect their workers from overreaching incompetent management, and safety standards should be universal. Voluntary union membership should be federally supported. Also, unions should be involved in workforce training. Professional licensing should be nationally standardized to permit interstate reciprocity.
I always love listening too the common sense Milton Friedman talks
They had me up to the taxes.
He is telling the truth about HUD
What an American economic treasure Milton Friedman was... RIP sir
