I like that our tax dollars are being used to have empty seats while debates are held on the floor. I think everyone should attend or you lose your right to vote and hold office.

15% is too much. 5% is plenty, with every working American along with Corporations paying, we would have more revenue than ever. Cut all the social programs by 50%, then another 50%, etc. until the programs no longer exist. Everyone then can work, should work, cut out welfare mothers and fake disability claims, but, none of this will come to pass. Our country has destroyed itself.
No! 10% of GROSS and there are NO loopholes, no tax breaks, no claims or cost forgiveness etc nothing! if you make 10,000 Gross your TOTAL taxes are 10% of that! No other taxes either! Such as state or sales or property or DEATH taxes. We pay 10% of GROSS on each and every PENNY made and NOT ONE single half pence more!!!!
And if ANYONE is caught evading taxes.. it goes to 20% for 5 years for them! Oh and WHY 10% ? because God only ASKS for 10%! No country needs or DESERVES more than God!
P.S. And I want the STATE to collect the SINGLE 10% tax from its CITIZENS and then the STATE determines how much the Fed gets LIKE IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE! And no more "Federal" programs used to entice the states to give up it's citizens rights like they have already done!

I should have mentioned that Businesses must pay 10% of Gross too! Corporations EVERYONE! EVEN CHARITIES & CHURCHES MUST PAY 10% OF GROSS! IF YOU MAKE MONEY IN THE US YOU MUST PAY 10% OF YOUR GROSS EARNINGS PERIOD!! And I cannot express enough that THAT is the ONE & ONLY TAX YOU WILL EVER PAY IN THE USA! No government entity will have the authority to raise the tax FOR ANY REASON!

My freshman roommate went on to be a congressional aide in Washington and he told me many times that congressmen spend 95% of their time in DC doing fundraising.
When an important vote comes up they all come to the chamber, get told how to vote on the way in the door, they go in, vote, and then they go back to fundraising.

I do respect Chip Roy being able to keep it 100% real although we might disagree on certain specifics of his positions but in terms of fiscal/monetary policy, I agree 100% that we are 34 trillion in the hole and as such, we simply do not have the money to be funding wars or balloon the defense budget to over 800 billion dollars.

Rep Chip Roy is telling the truth about the motivations of the people he works with in both parties. He has the solutions if the Republicans can stand together and could convince the Democrats to think about our country first above the greed from corporation donations and their demands and of their personal power to remain in office. We need laws that forbid corporate donations or insider information to these politicians or their party. We know that will never happen. They might have to live on just their salaries.

If you are single and make $44,700 ,
you will be taxed at 12% but any dollar over that amount and you pay almost double the tax (22%) .
For married couples any dollar of income over $89,450 gets taxed at nearly double the rate (22%)

Most of them aren't dependent on their pay. That's not a meaningful lever except for maybe the poorest 20% of congress. Many of them would very much like to be re-elected, or advance further in politics.

Corporations are bringing in record profits by keeping prices high and gouging an already struggling American population. They get massive tax breaks while refusing to increase pay.
Corporations have adult jobs with adult pay, if you work for the McDonald's corporation you're probably a teenager just trying to make some party money. That's good, it gives you work experience and that's what it's designed to do, not make you a livable wage. I'm not paying forty dollars for a hamburger. You want more money? That's on you not the corporation. Stop whining because you think you deserve more money, you don't. You have to work your way up and earn it.

Why do the elected leaders from both houses never look at what is really causing inflation. If a cattle farmer does not make money off his meat then why is meat so high. Look at the chain of impact up the pricing line. Commodity brokers make much more money off farmers than anyone. Can be done for almost any product. Lower quality products but higher costs for same product. It’s not higher pay causing this it is the effect on high profit ratios.

Perhaps BOTH Houses of Congress, could (¿and OUGHT TO?) create a team of either "Members" or even "Staff Members" (existing employees of the individual Legislators) to thoroughly research the existing Laws "on the books"... Submit quarterly reports to their Employers (including: "We, the PEOPLE") regarding certain Laws that might ought to be repealed, replaced or "updated"; ... I can remember from even 40 and 50× years ago; that a seeming overabundance of antiquated and/or irrelevant/NON-senseable Laws BLOAT our Law Books.

Auto and home insurance just went up due to all the crime, auto theft claims, disaster claims, home invasion, etc. Rates are based on nation wide claims, it’s all finally hitting the fan. The bulk of tax revenue comes from those billionair's companies. And those billionairs don't just have a billion dollars sitting in a bank account, they have real-estate and actual businesses, all of which are taxed. They themselves don't "own" the businesses, they own shares of the stocks of the business, LLCs, hedge funds. Tax policy has to be the top issue. Raise corporate taxes and taxes on the rich so the government could provide benefits and lower cost of living. If corporations are going to keep raising prices and taking record profits, they need to be taxed more.

we need to have it put into law that during session they are to be there for every day that we are in session. This having few people there when a person is speaking and no one else is there is a waste of our money. They need to be there to listen to the proposal. normal citizens have to show up for there work, why do they not have to. Instead they can go were ever and never even listen to what is being presented. This country is separating at its seems and they are not there to try to help. If they dont show up then they dont get paid.

All spending bills need to expire. Money is being funneled into slush funds from bills passed 50+ years ago. Any new spending should be as needed only. Somebody who doesnt deserve it is getting paid for those old spending bills.
Can’t the US follow the current laws on the books? Why those who do not follow the rules are not prosecuted regarding immigration and our border.
If people truly saw how rising national debt personally impacts their wallets & accounts, they'd be far more angry and put more pressure on politicians. Somehow most people see US Debt as some abstract theory not realizing how rising debt reduces business investment, slows economic growth, increases expectations of higher rates of inflation and erosion of confidence in the U.S. dollar, higher federal taxes and on and on.
