I tried to read it when I was young, but gave up. I found it too difficult to understand. It left such a bad impression on me, that I doubt if I would try it again.

I can perfectly understand that. It's a dense and difficult book that is ultimately too chaotic.

I couldn’t finish it in my teens. I did read it in my twenties. Then listened to the audiobook in my fifties. I’m not sure if I completely understand it either, but I find it a fascinating novel.
