Hi Summer! I've been knitting non stop for 10 years and last year I totally lost my mojo. I was stressed and overtired and just the though of reading a pattern... ugh! And suddenly your socks popped up on my feed and I just had to cast on a pair of rain bow dots. And just when I was thinking that I need a fresh pod to keep my knitting mojo up... here you are! Thank you for bringing back to me the joy of knitting! I look forward to your book!
Hello Summer, your book came in the post today, and I am so happy, I am a crocheter and would love to learn to knit socks. I love socks :D They make me happy. Your book is gorgeous. Thank you @crochetobjetknitting for mentioning it in your lovely vlog. Thank you, greetings from Slovakia.
Hey Summer! The more I listen to you, the more I like you. You are not weird in a bad way! My husband builds things too ❤. I don’t even knit YET but I like “whatever this is” 😂
Ann Patchett is a brilliant writer, she “blew my skirt up” with Tom Lake. I believe she intended the theatre section to be flat and the now section to be wonderful. The daughters were obsessed by the narcissistic famous actor when the true hero of their Mother’s story was their unwavering Dad and the wonderful world he gave their Mom. It certainly didn’t hurt that Meryl Streep was the narrator for the Audible book. Congratulations on the book, thank you for sharing your beautiful colour sense and designing talents.
Can’t wait to get your sock book!! Once I learned to knit socks they became my favorite things to knit. I’m getting ready to start my first pair of color work socks so your book is timed perfectly for me.
I’m so glad you’re back at podcasting; I missed your videos! Your beautiful colorful socks inspired me to learn how to knit socks in 2020 back when I could barely knit stockinette, and I learned with your free basic pattern-now I have knit quite a few pairs and many more things and consider myself obsessed 😂 and your socks continue to inspire me!!
I cannoooot wait for your book release ! I’ve been knitting for 20 years, all kinds of intricate sweater patterns, and socks still elude me… and also you’re the first designer who has colorful, joyful designs❤. Agreed on January, I love the freshness and stillness of it too
Great podcast. Your book looks awesome. I am hoping to get one. Jan was pretty cold and snowy in Alberta. But I was in Oklahoma City for a week, when my niece lived there in 2014 October and the weather was great.
I’m so excited for this book. I can see on my tracking that it’s made it to my town and hopefully I’ll have it in my hands tomorrow! I’ve so far cast on two different sock patterns but burnt myself out with the first one as it was all over colour work and written for dpns and I’m using magic loop and had never knit a sock or colour work or magic loop before. It’s turning out fine just it’s painfully slow. The second pattern I’ve been doing magic loop but while I nailed the colour work tension on the first pattern this second one I didn’t catch the floats when switching between needles. Ergh! So I’m admitting defeat for a little and going to work my way through your book from the start. I’ve got some cute self striping yarn that should keep my interest up on a vanilla sock. I’ve also ordered some 23cm circulars to hopefully make colour work easier when I get back to that 🤣
Haha! No summer theatre or musicals for you! :) 🤣 Funny thing... I'm not a big musical theatre watcher, but I loved being IN musicals growing up and in college (theatre major here). Psyched for your book to arrive. I ordered it last week. Eek! 🤩
I'm so pumped for your book! I LOVE your sock patterns. I teach people to knit at the library where I work, and any time somebody wants to knit socks, I direct them to your So Basic Socks on Ravelry - TRULY the best written 'vanilla' sock pattern!!! I'm in the middle of knitting Helen's Socks from the Darrowby Sock Set as I watch this video. Pre-ordering this book NOW!!
What a fantastic book, Summer. I couldn’t wait for the paperback so bought Kindle version last night. I like to read patterns off my iPad so it’s working great for me. I’m just finishing off a pair of stripy basic socks on magic loop then will be diving into your book patterns. I tried magic loop twice in the past but couldn’t get it right then, two days ago I watched your magic loop video and got it right away. Ladders almost non-existent. Now my favourite method, (then Addi Crasy Trio’s). Thank you for your knowledge and great ability to teach. My son can’t believe how addicted I am to knitting socks but loves the ones I knit for him, his Fiancee and my husband, who loves shorties. Thanks again.
Happy to see you here. I love your sock patterns, and am thrilled to see you here. Penny Straker-what a classic designer. I am thrilled to hear you talk about her. I have knit several of her patterns. I am getting ready to knit her garter stitch pullover. I think it's the Andy. I have knit it adult size, and am getting ready to knit the toddler version.
I’m so excited you’ll be doing a weekly podcast! Yay! And I’m counting the days until your book comes out. Those pattern sneak peeks made me even more jazzed!
Yay! I am so happy you are back to podcasting!! Also, weirdly, before your book was released, I was just thinking... I would love to see you release a book! I'm really excited. I've really been wanting to try out all of your sock patterns, and now I have a good opportunity to try all the ones (that I can!) in your book. Already pre-ordered :)
Enjoyed you podcast. Have your sock book in my Amazon wish list. Yes, it's exactly what I want. I've knit socks with a variety of heels but I'd rather them be in one place than sorting through my patterns to find the heel I want.
Enjoyed your podcast and since I’ve recently gotten on the ‘sock wagon’ look forward to your book! Also agree about Tom Lake ~ disappointing from Ann Patchett.
Man I WISH January was a relaxed chill month for creativity for me. As a payroll bookkeeper, it's my busiest month of the year. I'm glad your book comes out in February so I can dive right in.❤
Yay you're back!! I'm so glad to see you podcasting again! I really enjoyed watching your UA-cam videos back in 2020, they'd make me literally laugh out loud. Congratulations on your book, can't wait for it to arrive and can't wait to tune in next week!
I just recently discovered your sock patterns on Ravelry and was so stoked to find you are putting out a book. I work at The Webster’s yarn store in southern Oregon and it took no convincing to get my boss to order it for our shop. Looking forward to it in Feb! Also thanks for the preview in your inaugural podcast. 😍
Introverts unite! Thanks for a sneak peak at the book… Can’t wait to get my copy. Interesting spin on Tom Lake - I really enjoyed reading it and gifted a copy to my BFF. I ♥️ cherries and make a mean BBQ sauce with fresh picked ones 😋 Looking forward to watching episode 2.
Summer this podcast totally sold me on buying your book. I've bought many of your patterns before but wasn't sure I needed a book...until I watched this. You just sold it girl. Looking forward to getting it.
Congratulations on your book!! Love your sock patterns and colours that you use to knit such fun fun socks. I am a crazy sock knitter and have made many of your patterns. Knit my husband a pair of 'The Daily Socks' which he says are one of his favorites. One of my favorite sock patterns of yours although so hard to choose but would be the 'Hibernal Socks'. I'm guessing that this is the same pattern you have used in your new Hat/Beanie Pattern. Look forward to seeing more.
Good to see you back! As soon as I saw your video I clicked right away. I watched all your past videos and I really enjoyed them. I wondered what happened to too. So I’m glad you’re back. Welcome!
I am SO SO SO SO SOOOOOO happy you are podcasting. I have been following your ravelry page and knitting your patterns (and just buying your patterns) for a while now - almost from the beginning. You knock it out of the park EVERYTIME you come out with a new sock pattern. I feel like you just “get sock knitters” - I love color, texture, techniques, and you bring it all! I loved the shorty sock you showed here - I cant wait for your book to come out!!!!! Thanks for podcasting - you have a great personality :)
Hi Summer! I really enjoyed your podcast. Your book is amazing! I gasped out loud when I saw the first colourwork sock that you showed. Gorgeous! Looking forward to your next podcast! 🥰
Thank you Summer. I am just learning how to knit garment and want to learn how to knit socks. This is my first time meeting you and I am a visual learner, and would love to have you do a tutorial on making like a vanilla sock. I would love to learn from you that would be so awesome. Thank you Summer.
OMG. I’m sooooo glad you are back. 99.9% of knitting podcasts bore me witless, but used to watched yours years ago and you would have me in hysterics 😂😂😂😂 Than you stopped 😢 Ecstatic that you’re back 👍👍👍 You are immensely entertaining. I get the social isolation stuff, not so much from an anxiety perspective, but people just bore me or give me the 💩 Ok, question time. I can only net socks two at a time toe up. That’s my thing and I can’t let them any other way. I desperately want to do colour work but have avoided it because I would be balancing so many balls of yarn at the one time, do you have any top tips on how I can do that without changing my preferred sock knitting method? Also about your book will it be available as an e-book as well? The reason I ask is because I’m in Australia and postage from the US to Australia is usually ridiculously expensive and I prefer books as they take up no room. On the topic of Australia, I loath January in February because it is stinking hot here and I don’t like the heat, so I hibernate for the summer with the air conditioner working flight out. Welcome back Summer and looking forward to your weekly podcast 😊
Hi Summer Congratulations on your beautiful book and thank you for an amazing and inspiring episode. I too looooove to knit socks. It’s just amazing and I can’t get enough🤩 Looking forward to following your channel😊🎵💖
Very excited for the release of your book. I totally agree with you about January. I'm not sure it is my favourite month of the year because I do live in Manitoba Canada and it is usually cold and snowy but I do enjoy the activities of January and the no more people obligation factor. Thanks for podcasting today.
I'm excited for your book but I am also super inspired by your interior design skillz via your instagram and I want Dave to teach my husband his ways. I think you might need a second channel...
Hello from OKC! So glad I stumbled onto your podcast tonight! I’m a girl that is obsessed w knitting socks. I started making socks last spring, and always have them on my needles. I hope to be able to order a book…I’m still adjusting my socks for the perfect fit…I hit Subscribe and like and all the things and look forward to catching you next week! Can you share if the patterns are cuff down/toe up? I’m def a cuff down girl
I've been a fan of your sock patterns for a long time and now I'm happy to say I'm a fan of your podcast too! Pre-ordered the book, very excited to get it and so happy for you.
Just found you and your sock patterns, yay! Won't be hard to get the multiple pattern discount, there's so many I want to knit! If you've been knitting socks for that long you must have gotten holes in them at some point. I'm just devastated when I get holes and I have a pile of them waiting to be fixed.😢 Please talk about how to fix holes in socks in one of your podcast episodes.
Just found your podcast and really enjoyed it. I have knitted a lot of socks but I am always ready to learn more. Interested in learning different heels. I happen to be listening to "Tom Lake" right now and it is being read by Meryl Streep. I love Ann Patchett but I agree that it is not as good as I hoped it to be. I plan to finish it, but not loving the summer theater part either. Congratulations on your new book!!
Great first episode! Yes, follow on Instagram and not just an owner of your patterns, knit them too! Look forward to next weeks episode! And congratulations on your book, amazing accomplishment, be very proud.
Yay!!!! You are back! Meeting people makes me nervous too. I haven’t read that book, but often “popular” books fall flat for me- one that really sticks out is where the crawdad sings- could not get into that. I tried twice and it didn’t do it for me. Also the Louise Penney books, but I am going to try an audiobook for the first one to see if it gets me more into it.
Hey sister. Claremore sock knitter here. So excited about the new book, which I just ordered. And I’m looking forward to the podcast. I’ve always admired your patterns and adore your color choices. Go Oklahoma knitting creators!
Summer, I preordered your book. Looking forward to it! A book recommendation- I downloaded a sample of this book and was carried away. So unique and magical. I’m now reading the sequel. The book is Hild by Nicola Griffith.
Waving hello from the UK, I have bought several of your sock patterns on Ravelry and am very excited to hear about your book and see some of your new designs! 😍😍😍
I have watched exactly 2.49 min and I already love your style & your podcast. I have several of your sock patterns too that are faves. Can’t wait for more to come! Now I’m off to order the book.
Hi Summer, I learned of you from Alex of My Yarny Corner. I immediately went to Amazon and ordered my copy of your awesome book!❤ So happy to have found you!
I totally agree with the resolutions thing and I feel the same. I dont think the concept of new year's resolutions should exist. I think a lot of people feel obligated to take a resolution and that doesn't work. I think it can even make people feel discouraged and feel like they're unable to fulfill their objective when in reality, they simply didn't start for the right reason. You need to have the will and the motivation to change something and just like you said, it can be done at any moment during the year.
Loved this episode, love your sock patterns and can’t wait for the book! I’ve got the Hibernal Socks on the needles right now and am loving them. Congratulations on the book. 😃. Tom Lake is on my “ to read” list. 🤞🏻
Loved your first episode! Your IG account is one of my absolute FAVORITES to follow, so I am super excited for this podcast! Definitely planning to order a copy of your book too as your socks are always amazing! ❤️
I have also learned to love January, especially for the quiet. It has a relaxed pace, less pressure even though I miss the cozy, twinkly lights atmosphere of the previous months. It is peculiar that despite the excitement of a new year and all the potential of what lays ahead, January still leaves me feeling peaceful. Did I really just write that? 😂 I love the idea of your book and am glad to see you back; I just returned to sock knitting (having been new and self-taught from a book previously) and your patterns and early Vlogs were really sparked my interest in knitting socks. I am still also in search of that perfect fit and can't wait to get a copy and see what happens!
I want this book yesterday!!! I’m so excited to sit and knit with you this year. I’m very impressed to know you have only been designing sock patterns since 2020, and your first book too less than 1 year. 😮 amazing!
Love your videos! I'm watching all of them after discovering one of them. I agree with you on the book, for sure. I'm halfway into my first sock ever. So, I had to order your book and a pattern on Etsy. Off to find more videos. Thank you so much for being you.
I'm so happy you're back to podcasting again! I just finished Tom Lake, it was the first Ann Patchett novel I've read, I actually ended up loving it even though I wasn't sure at first. Also, you have been knocking it out of the park with the colorwork socks lately!
Really nice podcast! I think it's about a year ago that binged your old videos, so this is a nice surprise! And I'm so exited about the book, it looks so wonderful!
Hey there Summer, and welcome back! I was first introduced to your work through Knit Stars, and am looking forward to receiving your book on Feb 13th. I love that Amazon delivers on the release date! Your little recording area looks so comfy. (Good job Dave! )
Just went to pre order your book and saw that you have a sock notebook so of course I had to pre order as well! Lol. Can you explain the notebook part? Also, what size of needles do you use and what brand are your favorites? Lovin’ the podcast! Just watched episode 2. Keep them coming!
What a fun episode! I am curious about many things with sock knitting. I have found my best stitch count is 60, making purchasing certain designs perhaps a non-starter for me. Do others have this issue? I am also curious why some stitch techniques seem to be copy-written protected like the Fish Lips Kiss Heel, vs like a Judy's Magic Cast On and Off which is accessible without having a paid pattern (making it easy for a designer to incorporate it into their pattern designs). Your thoughts? I have pre-ordered your book--Yay!
Summer I’m so excited you’re back. I love your sock patterns. I make the thicksgiving socks for my dad every year. He loves them. I can’t wait for it book to come out. I’ve never a couple color work socks, but excited to learn how to master them with your book. See you next week. Julie ❤
It's so nice to see your smiling face here on UA-cam. I learned how to knit socks with help from your tutorials, crazy sock lady and knitty natty and keep coming back to your patterns for inspiration and how to.Thank you Happy New Year blessings all!
Just found you podcast and loved it, your sock book is a definite buy. I've just finished The Memory Keepers Daughtet ...OMG I did not think it would be for me , but I was so wrong, it was Soooo good, a really beautifully crafted book 👍🥰
I preordered your book because I'm new to sock knitting and it's a goal of mine this year... reading the description it was *perfect* then wondered if you had a UA-cam channel... and here I am! :-) Looking forward to binging and supporting your channel!
Hi Summer! Love your sock patterns and also loved being your test knitter back in 2022. Immediately preordered the book and looking forward to fun book. Please make your future episodes longer. cheers from summer (I am in Australia), Marina
Love your new channel! I too anthromorphise (is that a word?!) everything too. :-) I suck at socks but desperately want to get better at it. I took 3 years to knit 1 pair of socks. Ordered your book and am super optimistic about improving my performance. Excited to see more of your content. Happy 2024!
I'm so excited for your book! I learned how to make socks from your I'm So Basic Sock pattern and I've been hooked on knitting socks since - 3 years ago. Thank you!
Hi Summer! I've been knitting non stop for 10 years and last year I totally lost my mojo. I was stressed and overtired and just the though of reading a pattern... ugh! I so agree🧶❤️🧦
Bought your book and took to the print shop for a spiral binding! Makes it workable.

I LITERALLY cannot wait for my book to arrive!! All the Summer Lee sock knitting for the rest of the year…neh, the rest of my LIFE.
I too love January . The holidays really take a toll on me . I’m feeling the calm right now .

Love, love your book!
Just pre-ordered your book 😊 looking forward to reading it!
Oklahoma is kind of blah this time of year but have you noticed the recent sunrises? Beautiful!
Enjoying your podcast and sock knitting tips!
I listened to the Tom Lake audiobook. I feel they same way as you do regarding the storyline. It was just okay to me.
Glad to see you back! You are a joy to watch! I learned to knit socks from your video on SOS socks

Can you share if the patterns are cuff down/toe up? I’m def a cuff down girl
I've been a fan of your sock patterns for a long time and now I'm happy to say I'm a fan of your podcast too! Pre-ordered the book, very excited to get it and so happy for you.
Very happy to see you back on UA-cam! Il really appreciate your sense of humor. Very nice moment watching your video!
That's a great idea!! Thanks for such a great content suggestion!
I just bought your book at my LYS today, and I love it so much! I can't wait to cast on a new pair using one of your fun patterns!
Ahhh! A Hibernal Hat?? So excited !!
Yes!! It's one of my favorite sock patterns, so I had to add it to all the things 😂
Summer, I preordered your book. Looking forward to it! A book recommendation- I downloaded a sample of this book and was carried away. So unique and magical. I’m now reading the sequel. The book is Hild by Nicola Griffith.
Great re-starting podcast. Looking forward to watching along and getting inspired 💚
Waving hello from the UK, I have bought several of your sock patterns on Ravelry and am very excited to hear about your book and see some of your new designs! 😍😍😍
Holy cow and congratulations - well done! The book looks like a sock lovers dream.
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much! 🥹❤
I ordered your book as soon as I saw your email but after this preview I’m beyond excited and can’t wait for February
I can’t wait to get the book. Your cheery colored sock patterns are so fun and inspiring! Looking forward to next week’s podcast!
So happy to see you back here!! ‘You’ taught me to knit socks 2 years ago ❤ I’m excited about your book - CONGRATULATIONS!!
😮 amazing!
Thank you!! I'm so happy that people are excited about the book! 🥹
Love your videos! I'm watching all of them after discovering one of them. I agree with you on the book, for sure. I'm halfway into my first sock ever. So, I had to order your book and a pattern on Etsy. Off to find more videos. Thank you so much for being you.
Can't wait for your new book! I love knitting socks....always!
Thrilled to see you back, Summer! Love your podcast and your patterns. Congratulations on the book!!
Hey there Summer, and welcome back! I was first introduced to your work through Knit Stars, and am looking forward to receiving your book on Feb 13th. I love that Amazon delivers on the release date! Your little recording area looks so comfy. (Good job Dave! )
I cannot wait to own this book. Your socks always make me happy!
Julie ❤
Loved it! Thank you! Don’t disappear again! 😅
Thank you! And I won't!😂
It's so nice to see your smiling face here on UA-cam. I learned how to knit socks with help from your tutorials, crazy sock lady and knitty natty and keep coming back to your patterns for inspiration and how to.Thank you Happy New Year blessings all!
Both of those ladies have such great tutorials!! I've learned a thing or two from them as well!
Just found you podcast and loved it, your sock book is a definite buy. I've just finished The Memory Keepers Daughtet ...OMG I did not think it would be for me , but I was so wrong, it was Soooo good, a really beautifully crafted book 👍🥰
Add to cart! Looking forward to getting the book, and to seeing you in my UA-cam videos. :)
Thank you!❤
I preordered your book because I'm new to sock knitting and it's a goal of mine this year... reading the description it was *perfect* then wondered if you had a UA-cam channel... and here I am! :-) Looking forward to binging and supporting your channel!
Hi Summer! Love your sock patterns and also loved being your test knitter back in 2022. Immediately preordered the book and looking forward to fun book. Please make your future episodes longer. cheers from summer (I am in Australia), Marina
Hi Marina!! I remember you test knitting for me! Very jealous that you are in the midst of summer in Australia!
A delightful addition to my watch list. Thank you
Love your new channel!
Thank you!
Oh that makes my day!!!! 🥹
