@@WhatsForTeait’s much more common to cook beef in a pot in the US, rather than to roast it in the oven, mainly people like me who like their beef medium rare roast,as in the slow cooker it becomes a pot roast.I find it better to use brisket for that application.

Hi Cheryl so glad your feeling better. Great shopping haul. Cannot believe myself how baked beans have gone up especially when most British children eat them for lunch on toast. The economy.has gone out of control all over the world. It’s hitting people hard. Pay bills or don’t eat for the elderly . Have a wonderful day my love. Cannot wait for you to make something out of the roast beef. 🌺🌸🌺🌸🌺💕💕💕

May I suggest using french onion soup and cream of mushroom soup poured over your beef roast in the slow cooker. It's really fab! Your house will smell amazing!

Wish I lived closer to Aldi. It is a 60+ mile round trip. Cauliflower is over $4 a head here in NE Tennessee. Canned corn is $1.25 each can. A small bag of potatoes is $4. Mayo in that size jar (Walmart brand) $4.25. Sugar in 4pound bag is $3.99. Walmart baked beans are $1.25 a can. Fresh chicken tenders/fillets are $4.99 a pound. It is great to see some reasonable prices in Scotland.

Hey Cheryl, so pleased to hear your feeling lots better & getting over the worst of your virus 🦠. A good big shop for the money there, I look forward to seeing how your beef turns out cooked in the sc. Does your OH eat the marmalade out of the jar with a spoon?😂🤣🤣
Hope you continue to feel back to your old self as the week progresses ❤️ , a souvenir from Wales that you weren’t expecting to take home 😷. Enjoy your weekend & thanks as always for sharing 🙏. Take care xx 👩🏻‍🍳💕💞🩷

I do my main big shop every couple of months or so in Iceland - they do home delivery, usually - although they have had issues since Covid- often weren’t doing it on the day I called in, but I was able to go in a couple of days later - no way can I get ten or more bags of frozen on my mobility scooter - it’s not a truck - I usually get small items like bread, butter, tea bags and stuff for cleaning myself, laundry and dishes from the little Tesco down the road or the One Stop - you get people who think they are saving a penny or two by shopping around - but they forget that all these shops are not all on one road a short walk from their home - they have to get a bus into town- the 1p or 2p they save by going to Sainsbury’s in the centre of town, as opposed to the Asda more or less over the road is subsumed in bus fares - assuming they haven’t got a bus pass - and it’s probably a long way to go just to save 1p on a small item - and it might get busted somehow on the bus back - some drivers won’t let you on with bulky shopping items - some people have been known to try and save money on delivery charges by buying high-end items like shelving units and trying to bring them home by hand - with no car or vehicle or access to same - places like Argos have counteracted this stinginess by some people by making large items home delivery only - and it’s coming from somewhere miles away - Mrs What’s For Tea lives in a remote location in Scotland - but, if she bought a high-end piece of expensive furniture, it would more often than not be coming from a warehouse in the English Midlands or the Home Counties or Jersey on the Channel Islands!

I’d go without before I paid that much for something as basic as butter…I got some whipping cream and made my own, and I’ll keep doing so until those thieving supermarkets bring their prices down because Lord knows the increases are not going to the farmers (and you can hardly blame the Ukraine situation for the price of butter, when we have some of the finest dairy in the world being produced in our own country.)

Watching grocery items from other countries really is interesting! In Canada just a small shopping to top up is always over $100.00...just wondering are you bagging your groceries and bringing your own bags in the UK🤷‍♀️
