if you’ve read the comic and know how large titan squidward is, just take a moment to realize JUST HOW FUCKING GIGANTIC the tortured one is. (Also that grass skirt chase motif at the end gave me CHILLS)
I did the math, it's 5 stories wide and 10 stories tall. And I'll bet most people just went through the comic thinking they could kick its ass lol.
@@watchmychannelorelse To be fair, a running joke in the series is that what's giant to them is incredibly tiny to us (Look at the scuba diver in the movie for instance, where Denis was three times the size of Spongebob and Patrick but he just stomped the guy like nothing).
Theoretically The Tortured One could be the size of a human.

But at the same time, remember that all the fish in the cartoon are of normal size and understand that it is not so big relative to a person.

The Harpsichord at the beginning just told me this would be a good one. and just that muffle drop just scratched my brain just right. This is honestly one of my favorite songs from this mod.

I have no fucking idea of what is a harpsichord, and i'm already in love with it.
I know this is a 3 week old comment but it’s sort of like a piano with a stringy guitar like sound.
@comicknight5926 the Harpsichord is the predecessor to what became today's modern pianos, pianos make their sound by using mallets to strike the strings when their keys are pressed. Conversely, the strings of a harpsichord a plucked when the keys are pressed giving it its signature stringy sound.
I knew the Bikini Bottom Horror was going to get a song one day. I just knew it. One of my all time favorite webcomics, can't wait to see what they do with it.
I would love if they make another with the series like before Tortured they could have one with the Patrick of the original comic and call the song Im-sorry

Music is an absolute banger but my god this art was freaking stellar! I was stunned at seeing how crazily detailed the sprites and background were. I honestly have no idea how long it must've took for the artist to put this together, it's just incredible to see.

This song is so good. I love the harpsichord, it fits with the gothic style of art and I just adore the Monster Patrick animations. Awesome job on this cool track, definitely a new favorite of mine!

That happened to me with Garcello. At first it barely even sounded like music, until I listened to it a few more times. Now it's something I listen to fairly often.
This happened to me with Fight or Flight, I didn't like it at first because the song sounded too "broken" to me, but after rehearing it many times, it's one of my favorite songs now
I replayed most of the mcm mod and yeah, I honestly like this song more than I though

Every time. Every popular song that community liked I took as a spam songs, but I listened to them later around 5 times and loved them. For example, I didn't like prey song at first, but it's my favorite now
I knew nothing about the bikini bottom horror, But after this mod dropped, I decided to give it a read. It is now one of my favorite webcomic series, I have the MCM team to thank for that. I absolutely loved the sprites, They were so detailed and are true to the source material. I haven't even talked about how good the song is either, In my opinion, It fits in well with what is going on, It really does sound like Squidward is trying his hardest to defeat "Patty-Rick". The little grass skirt chase Motif at the end, It really gives a ominous and sad feel to the song, Almost symbolizing how all of the joy in bikini bottom has faded. Keep up the good work on the mod you guys!!

With regards to which song gave the best vibes of its source material in this mod, Tortured absolutely crushes it, no question. The whole song feels melancholy, hopeless, dreadful, like you're trying to survive a tremendous threat that's impossible to overcome, but it also contains an intensity that gives off the feeling that the threat in question isn't just some kind of worldwide calamity or disaster... it's a creature, one of mass proportions, destroying everything you've ever known, and there's nothing you can do about it. It holds such apocalyptic vibes in every note that's sung, and it's just so perfect.
But then, at 1:52, the song communicates a rebellious tone - that finally, everyone else in the world finds the strength within them to stand up to the giant threat. They grab all their weapons, and they hit it with everything they got. The monster fights back, lashing out at the people that are nothing but ants in its eyes. But they aren't going to take it lying down. They will not back down, as their lives and the planet they live on is at stake.
And though they put up a good fight... they ultimately lose, as the song dips down into the depressing vibes again. Cue the rendition of the Grass Skirt Chase music. It's all over. The monster has won. The planet lies in ruin, the sadistic handiwork of the monster that brought only chaos. Nothing can change this chapter of life. And now, humanity is dead... gone... forever.
At least, these are the feelings that the song gives me. I know that the monster doesn't win in the Bikini Bottom Horror comic (spoilers, sorry), but this song makes me feel what it'd be like if it DID win. It came, it conquered, the heroes fought against it, but it still killed them in the end. It's both interesting and terrifying to think about what the final page of the comic would've been like if the Tortured One had succeeded in its rampage.

Although i think the ending sounds more bittersweet than anything Else, implying that the beast was defeated, but the scars would never truly heal

@@Skibidy_rizzler_ Actually, that couldn't be further from the truth. The creator of the comic said that the Tortured One is as tall as a 6-story building, meaning it's big enough to eat a human whole.
Judging by the context of the comic the song is based on, the song is probably going for a more bittersweet feel at the end like the first person in the replies said. Scars that never healed, even when the chaos has stopped. The rest of the song does convey that horrifying, and helpless tone that leads to the rebellious feeling towards the end. That's the entire comic in a nutshell, pretty much. You should read it if you haven't! I personally enjoyed it.

I hope that Squidward's vocals are pitched down slightly so it can sort of match Patrick's a bit better and make it stand out so badly, but besides that this song is an absolute banger
Also I want to add that I mean no malice behind this whatsoever, I genuinely love this song and I can't stop having it on loop, it's just that good and in my opinion, the best song and over-all part of the mod!
i honestly like his voice like that because it fits the scene, patrick is so huge that squidward has to scream for his voice to be heard.

A lot of songs in this mod use the Grass Skirt Chase motif, but this one has the best use of it. It's a reminder that despite the absurd situation in this song, this is still SpongeBob.

Story:
Patrick is out unconscious and Mr Krabs decides to cut off his leg but due to that it creates a new Patrick that is then used by Mr Krabs to make his Krabby Patties. Why the song is Tortured. Squidward is actually twice as huge as normal so Patrick rn is the size of a building while Squidward is the size of a Honda.

That should've been a week on it's own. You could have The Tortured One as his normal form for the 1st song, Mr. Krabs' primal form as the 2nd one, Kraken Squidward Vs. The Tortured One(Like the one here), The Plankton Mecha for the 4th one, and finally Spongebob's primal form against the Tortured One.

fun fact: The chromatic for The Tortured One is the same as Patrick's in Dead Hope, just with EXE's effects in Black Sun from VS. Sonic.EXE(yes I really compared their effects to EXE's but they are practically the same so shut up >:[) being replaced with generic bitcrush

So since it's not canceled, and the team is fixing it up and stuff, mayhaps they should add more atmosphere to the song by adding lightning effects, and maybe making it a bit darker?
