I will give you a little tip, I had an old guy that caught fish all the time, he told me fish have tails and will swim away on you. I had just went a week of vacation and only caught 5 fish in five days. He told me to try trolling or drifting a worm for the deep fish . You will probably find the fish in the middle depths 6-13 ‘ deep. Maybe not on structure, probably chasing the bait schools. Try to get some help we all have to at times. You did help the people who know how to fish . Get your head down and just. Remember you have great equipment, Never let a pea brain fish defeat you . !!!! Fish smart.

Hey man you might not know me but my name is Mica Bailey and my buddy was on Scott Hamrick‘s boat last week and he cannot find them anywhere but he went shallow and was catching bass off of bluegill beds with a popper and then he started hitting docs that look good to him and he would throw a jig swim jig and shaky hand but he would only cash under the dock three times and then leave And then he will leave and go find more docs but he would only cast in the darkest spot underneath the docks and he won the tournament but he went through some gas because he hit so many docks and that’s how he got 21 pounds

Remember PMA positive mental attitude If you have a bad practice and you feel like you're not going to catch them your probably not going to catch them you always have to have a positive mindset knowing hay I just sucked but that doesn't matter im going to catch em. I fished that tournament i haven't fished High rock lake in over 6 years when I used to fish Junior tournaments and I was worried I wasn't going to be able to figure them out but I ended up getting 9th all because I had confidence in my ability and honestly it was fath the lord really showed up for me that day

Hey buddy. Tournaments like this one you put out here for us to watch just happens. I've fished Tournaments for 25+ years and have zeroed on my home lake more than all the other lakes i fish.put together. And here on sc I fish 7 major lakes. And yes history on my home lake hurts me more than I want to talk about. But....we keep going and try and figure them out next time.. plus I stay hungry for the next derby....Good luck next time on the water.

Liked the honesty and transparency of the video, but sorry to see you roll a donut during the tourney. Been there done that on my home lake before. Just a couple of observations that I took away from it.
    - 2 days of practice you had the bluebird ceiling, and its the post-spawn funk, that transition period which you pointed out.
    - I think a majority of the fish were shallow as opposed to deep. I observed this most recently on Gaston and Kerr.
    - I am familiar with High Rock, and fish mostly on the upper 1/3 of the lake, which I find more productive than the man made part of the lake, and most importantly, biguns live there and its sooo much easier to find fish up there, bcuz its a much smaller area.
I grew up on Lake Murray and my PB is 8-8 which I caught on the upper 3rd of the lake and some of the Saluda. Another critical component is the water is dirtier and I find it easier to catch more fish in the dirtier water than the clearer water. Same is true for High Rock and most man made reservoirs. Most of the pressure on Lake Murray is in the bottom 2/3 and I would recommend you conduct tour recon up there. This will limit your running time, maximize your fishing time, and make it easier to locate the fish. There are biguns in Murray in the lower 2/3 of the Lake, but they are highly pressured and the water is clearer. Also, the weekend boater traffic is INSANE there!!!
Hope this helps and rooting for you👍😃🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣

You got to far ahead of the fish man.i did the same thing on smithmountain last week. Fish were on deep banks coming out of the creeks not off shore yet. You can still slay them shallow here. Sometimes we get to far ahead on our patterns watching videos instead of letting the fish tell us.it want happen again for me. People will start posting videos on bass moving back to the creeks this fall way before they start moving ,keep that in mind.

Listen Dude this happens from time to time. Throw it over your shoulder and move on. I practiced one time down at West Point, I caught at least 20 lbs a day in practice. Bed fishing! Day of the tournament I couldn’t get on any of my bed fish spots. That was the longest ride home ever, from that tournament.
