Nice going man holy cow what a day. I’ve had my boat 6 months now and went to High Rock once and there were so many trees floating it was like a minefield. I want I go back. Just may do it Sunday now....
That morning there was trees floating everywhere on the main lake I was driving really slow it was sketchy. It was worth the trip, that lake has some big ones
Shaky head kills it on lake norman too, at least on the southern end where I fish. Are they still doing tuesday tournaments at pinnacle? I might come fish a couple.
Oh yeah I've caught 100s of spots on a shakey head especially in spring. All the tournaments have been cancelled, that's why I'm not worried about fishing Norman for awhile
@@landonmoore76 highrock has always been my favorites to catch big largemouths. I mean lake norman have them too. They just to finicky to find and catch. But norman do have big spotted bass also
Growing up in Eastern NC, I always heard people talk about High Rock Lake and dreamt about fishing there one day. But it was so far away, I never made the trip. Now, living in Chapel Hill, it isn't quite such a long haul. Still not a short trip, but reasonable. Hopefully I can make it over there one day.
You have better lakes close by. I wish I was close to Jordan,Falls and Harris. There's some giants in those lakes. High Rock can be really tough I plan on fishing it more in spring.
@@landonmoore76 - Yeah, that's one nice thing about living here. Lots of good lakes nearby. That said, I enjoy travelling and exploring new places anyway, just for the heck of it. :-)
I don't know what it is but I hook a zoom worm the same way the thinner ones but I'm telling you pumpkin seed color is the best.. I just throw it out somewhere real it up and then let it fall down they love to watch it drop then bite.
dude being honest, I laugh really hard when you get pissed...not because youre upset but because I know EXACTLY how that feels to lose a good fish! That was a solid ass day! You may want to go back to that lake again...and take me with you!
btw, I think you are going to overtake me this month on subscribers! Good stuff fun to see you grow, you always put out great videos and you put them out oftem and I appreciate it!
It is funny I get so mad it's so hard not to cuss. If it was a tournament there would be cussing or tears lol. I can't believe I'm going to pass you in subs I never thought I would get this many
Word of caution, check if there's a tournament before launching from tamarac, most launch out of there. It gets full and the parking lot really isn't set up for it. Went one time when there was a bass and crappie tournament at the same time and it wasn't fun getting in and out. Did catch good fish that day though.
Nice fish sir. I just moved down to Raleigh last fall and now that the spawn has started I'm killing them. Ive caught a 9.68 and an 8 lb fish from the bank at public ponds. Whenever the virus calms down we should fish together. It's funny because i caught the 8 the same day you went to High rock.
@@landonmoore76 It sucks that this virus is going around, because i know Jordan, Falls, and Shearon harris lakes all have monsters. Shearon harris I know has double digit fish in it. I also know of some smaller lakes here in Raleigh that you can put a bass boat on that have giants.
Enjoy your videos. 1 comment try to take the chesty off and mount the camera on your back seat post. I would like to see the whole catch going forward. Just a thought.
I have few videos with the gopro on the passenger side behind me and most of time you can't see or hear what's going on until the fish is in the boat. I will bring out some other angles so I can get some topwater strikes in video better
Yeah my scale is .34lbs off proven by tournament weights so I weighed it with the cull clip on it which weighs about 0.20lbs to make it close but that scale sucks I need one that's accurate
@@landonmoore76 I fish tournaments at Norman for 20 years. Norman has a lot of bass, High rock has just as many and are much larger, so does Tuckertown. You're not going to catch an 8 at Norman.
@@landonmoore76 I won a tournament on Norman in '99 with over 19lbs. all largemouth. That wasn't easy to do back then, did all my damage in Davidson Creek.
@@davide.8176 I agree. Norman is full of bass but all small. I say high rock has alot less bass but alot over 5lbs. I have to try tuckertown. In 99 largemouth was all Norman had. They say 2000 is when someone put spots in there
High Rock is my favorite lake in NC. I just wish I lived closer. Caught several bigs on that lake.
Nice fish on the popper, great spring bait
I wish I lived closer also. It really has giants and I had no idea what I was doing there. Next time I'll have a better idea
Heck yeah dude, good job! That's making up for a tough prespawn. Norman is in your rear view mirror now lol.
Yep lol I still want to go sight fishing and shad spawn at Norman it's the best time to fish that lake, I still won't catch fish this big there

NC Bassin so it’s still like that huh? Dang, well you’re right. If you can find fish like that would definitely be worth the trip.
Yeah after it rains alot high rock turns into a mine field. It is 10X better now
Great video! You talked me into going to High Rock first chance I get! Thanks.
I've been hesitant to go back because I got skunked last time but its great right now
Great video buddy. Wacky rig and swim jig worked for me fairly well this past weekend also. Good luck on the water next trip out...
Thanks I need to try the swim jig with all that cover it would have worked this day for sure
Gonna head out there for a. Tournament Sunday hopefully I get some like that
Good luck there's some big bass in High Rock not alot of bass so just try to get 5 bites and you could win
is high rock lake near hickory? thanks Im going to live in north carolina, love that state!
Its about 1 hour from hickory probably. Lake Hickory, Lake Lookout and Lake Norman are closer to hickory
I live 15mins from tamarack, haven't had any luck bank fishing. I'll have to check it out when I finish my boat 👀
Having a boat will help for sure. There's not a lot of bass in high rock but there's some giants.

Great catch Landon you caught some good ones wish you could have got the big one in the boat, good job God Bless
It was fun that lake has giants, lesson learned on the big one I'm glad it wasn't a tournament
Awesome video man! I live right across the street from High Rock and you just motivated me
Awesome I heard its fishing tough right now but there's some giant bass in that lake
You need to go try lake fisher. They are hogs in it I catch 8 and 10 every year over there. Good fish you got
I've never heard of lake fisher just looked it up it's only 1 hour away. I'm going to have have to try that lake
Love fishing HR, biggest i caught was 4.5 there. You caught more fish that day then I have all year just about!
Man you slayed it at High Rock!!! 🐟🐟🐟
It was fun if got got in the two I lost it would have been an epic day
Hittin this lake next week💪🏽‼️
And that's why you make the drive. Nice video
Exactly I feel dumb for not fishing it more often now lol

Yes all the tournaments are canceled it really sucks
Same here son. Had to cancel all mines too
Pretty good day nice job 👍👍
Thanks I'm starting to like that lake

Awesome I need to go try high rock again

I'll have to try that. I seen it work it falls so slow but they can't resist

Yeah it's like that at Norman also. Luckily I can't fish weekends I work and can only fish weekdays which the lakes are usually not too crowded
Man I love me some largemouth fishing
Me too they get way bigger and I get tired of finesse fishing for spotted bass in Norman
How many times are you going to say I should of used the net. Yon never learn.
Yep but going for the net has also made me lose fish. Luckily this wasn't a tournament just fun fishing

If you like big bass check out lake fisher. I caught several fish over ten at fisher. You have to rent a John boat 10. Bucks.
I got to check that place out. I have never caught a 10lb even from ponds
I live there and off my dock I’ve 4 5 pounders and 1 7 pounder. Our bass are huge but you need to know what your doing their aren’t stupid bass.
Yes I've noticed they're huge but not easy to catch. I'll be fishing at high rock alot when it cools off
Is fishing/boating allowed during the stay at home order?
Yeah for now
I caught a massive catfish on a spinner bait on that first bridge. It drug me about 150yds in the Kayak
Awesome they hit hard. I caught a 11lb cat on a chatterbait at least when they're really big you know they're not a bass.

All this rain has probably moved the brush piles around
