Chris Paul has been a blueprint for players, from his passing and midrange game. Knowing he’s retiring soon he is always going to be an outlet for others players to improve their game !
Man I was rolling in 210 down old streets with my daughter and just knowing I had to go back to my city to work and having drop her off. I just hope she understands those sacrifices. Great talk 🔐
Demar, you are an inspiration to folks like me on and off the court. Obviously there are many that look up to you strictly in a basketball context, but i hope you realize that there are equally as many that appreciate what you’ve done regarding mental health advocacy. To rid society of this illusory barrier between being “normal” and having mental health struggles, it helps to see our heroes - those we subconsciously expect to be better than normal - to admit that they themselves can be deeply affected by emotional and/or mental health difficulties, and that conversations about mental health should transcend the stigmatized circumstances they’ve traditionally been associated with.
48:50 CP is my big cousin. My name is Keeshon and while he’s been gone for a while and been working hard and growing throughout his Hall of Fame career. If there’s one thing that I could tell him about his time gone is that we are all just so proud of him. Even more proud of who he is off the court! Also grateful for the moments that we share when he does come home!
Congrats on your podcast. It’s awesome to see that some men are mature enough to accept that they don’t have to always be tough or strong and never show their vulnerability,we love you even more for that. Well done. I’m French and in our culture we learn from a very young age that “What you eat is what you are” that’s probably why our “cuisine” or our meals are so important. “Mind over matter” the use of the willpower to overcome physical problems is so underrated. Best of luck to you both.
The best convo and realist i ever heard and to make pple aware of the true life of any of the “successful “ pple in the limelight, social media game!!! Thank u!
You guys delivered big time, that was one of the realest, most interesting conversations I've heard in a while 👌🙌 The part about the young generation hit really hard, from both your take on guys "being a lot more shiny" coming into college and all that brings as well as CP's take, with that must mention of how necessary it is for people to seek out for stuff in order to get them vs. staying on their asses waiting for shit to come to them. Those were really great and straight crucial observations for people to take in imo 💯 And that's from a guy who's only 28 himself (born in late 96, shortly after Pac passed) by seeing how the younger generation is being taken for a long ride on so much BS in our modern times. Thanks to you both and all the best to you and your families. That was really cute from your daughter to get back to you apologising afterwards. Sounds like you got some gold right there 👌🙏 My thoughts are also with your moms in her sickness, and that God lays his Grace upon her. 🙏 Best regards, Rafael
Without effort nothing gets magically done. The youngins have to realise that and so much other shit. They straight gotta wake up... Always erebody gotta wake up really. With so many distractions nowadays can no one convince me I'm wrong in seeing some bad times ahead. Not that it have to be the end of the world, but definitely some... "climax", some flame that's gon' be lit and that will force people into heightening their senses again, if only for survival. Praying that all real ones out there are taking the best care of themselves possible, and growing stronger with every day. Peace
Getting older nowadays had nothing to do with going older in the 90's, nowadays with all the food care, body care, etc, you can be 45 but having the body of a 40 years old athlete.
*I’m not saying you need to do it right now, but I think LeBron James would make an incredible guest-perhaps after he retires. He’d bring a deeply meaningful perspective on mental health. Think about what he’s had to endure: growing up and shouldering the responsibilities of a grown man at just 15 or 16 years old, getting his family out the hood, and carrying the weight of expectations from such a young age. Then, add the endless hate, criticism, comparisons, and pressure he’s faced throughout his entire career, especially in the age of social media.* *That’s a conversation worth having. Personally, I had to delete all my social media over a decade ago because of depression, the constant comparisons, and the toxic culture behind it. I don’t have Twitter, Snapchat, or anything like that-it became too much. So for someone like LeBron to carry all that weight, that scrutiny, and that toxicity while still achieving greatness and inspiring millions? That’s a story that deserves to be told.*
Sorry to be negative, but this mental health thing being away from family is such first world problems... Is good to make progress in the world regarding mental health, but dont make it out is so hard making millions doing a job/playing a game u love. In my younger years the quickest way my dad can find me was to travel by 8 hr flight, and he was only around for a month or so... This was only for a few years and i was one of the lucky ones. My friends dad has been away from them most of their life and only get to see each other max 2 times a year for about a month each time. And this is through the 90s 00s. And these arent singular incidents, it was the norm and still is. They work in a different country due to more pay and they can't get the same job if they move else where. So please dont tell me how hard it is knowing your family is only a few hours flight away, and be wealthy enough to fly private to see them. And don't tell the rest of the world we have no idea how hard it is, giving that bs explanation. Go out to the society and the world and talk to some normal people.
I’m not gonna discount your experience growing up. But at the same time, don’t expect to know what a high-paid pro baller is going through either. It doesn’t matter how much money one has, time and time again it’s been proven that mental health doesn’t improve as your bankroll gets longer. It’s a tale as old as time lol. If anything, these grown men are expressing how much they love and miss their kids / family. You also have to realize that during the long season, they can’t just abandon their team and hop on a private jet to see their kids anytime they want. Have a little understanding the way you expect others to understand your plight. Peace to you.

Another great episode. DeMar, all of San Antonio loves you. You always keep it real.
We need Kyle Lowry
That should have been the first episode lol
I agree
He’ll nah he a scrub
He should've been first episode but the fact that he wasn't, tells me DeMar's letting it stew and age a bit more so it'll be a lot more flavorful.
