Just started learning guitar and I honestly dont think I would have progressed so fast were it not for your channel. You are a great teacher and awesome player. Here's to another 5 years.
Hey Marty. I’ve been following you for 14 years and I really appreciate how you simplify and break everything down so clearly. I remember talking to you on the phone back in, I think, 2012 and you gave me so much inspiration. This video is great, because I fell off guitar when my pops died. I would lay this very same 12 bars down for him and he’s riff over it while smoking his Camels. I just want to tell you that I’m back playing and you’re the first person I searched for to get started again. I can’t tell you enough how much I appreciate your knowledge of playing guitar has inspired me over the years. Thank you, brother.
Thank you so very much Marty! I'm 52 and learning guitar again after dropping it for 23 years. Not new to the 12 bar blues but you really helped me to add all the stuff I always wanted but was stuck in a rut. I never had all these you tube videos to learn from when I started to learn guitar and I am in guitar heaven now with your videos especially. You cheer me up, you make me laugh and you help me with all those things about the BLUES I wanted but was frustrated with before we had you tube videos. You and Steve Stiner are my GUITAR GODS of you tube Guitar Teachers.
Martyyyyy thank you so much man. You have been the best guitar teacher for me for 2 years now! Special request lesson "Didnt I" by Darando. I think many of your students would love this song. Thanks again and keep em coming!
On chapter 4 of "beginner blues" wow you are such a great teacher. You take so much time and patience to slowly build everything up. Thanks for everything Marty! You are the best guitar teacher I have found.
I love it how you manage to make a single video friendly for both beginners and advanced. I really enjoyed what you did on 5:26, and it is there everything you need to have more ideas for an advanced player. The rest of the video also serves pretty well to refresh the memory.
I just started using my dads old strat and I already know teen spirit, smoke on water and now I’m tryna get the 12 bar blues down, with no lessons, all thanks to Marty!
Marty, I’ve been watching for 10 years man and it’s only now just hit how much you’ve helped me in my guitar playing. It took me this long to decide to really put some time in since I first began with taking notes off you in High school. Thanks for always being there brotha! 💖
I love the blues! Wonderful instructions! Thank you so much, for all your free lessons. You’re the main reason, I picked the guitar back up at 55. One request, Lonely People by America.
Thanks Marty!!! I would definitely love to see more Blues videos!!! Truly appreciate and love all you have to offer us!!! 50 years young and learning how to play the Blues and other genres too!!! You're never to old to start learning an instrument or anything new for that matter; it keeps you young and alive!!! Thanks again Sir!!!!
Marty, I discovered your channel when starting to learn guitar 3 years ago, I'm almost 40 now, and I always wanted to play guitar. I remember the first time I saw the 12 bar blues video. I spent days playing and playing and counting and counting, must of it struggling and trying to do it correctly, especially with the turnaround. I appreciate your effort and patience in putting all this together, and as well the online lessons. I've concluded some of those lessons. Those helped me understand the blues and guitar concepts deeper. And well, now I'm found myself doing for fun 12 bar blues, mixing cools stuff, creating loops, and having fun with some improvs. So Marty, Thanks a lot! Your lessons helped me achieve one of my dreams, and every day I check your new videos to see with which I'll deep dive. If possible, could you do a techinque lesson to understand the concepts behind Joe Bonamassa licks and blues rhythm guitar? Thanks
This a little taste to the actual quality material that Marty has to offer on his website MartyMusic. I started three months ago and he has thought me so much. Love you Marty.
Thanks Marty for this blues riff. Im a beginner player with years of music between my ears, this riff has been in my head for like a month and all the videos were more advanced even one you did prior. So thanks for this video, i will be working on it all week!!
Yo Marty! Your lessons are the best and it’s partly because you open with the thing you’re about to teach and then get into it, no ten minute speech about irrelevant nonsense, the format rocks, your lessons rock and that TV yellow Les Paul rocks!
Two things. One: lots or aha moments here for me. The boogie riff just being an implied chord blew my effing mind. Two: recording 100 videos before even starting the channel was both risky and ingenious for taking advantage of the algorithm. Much respect for you, and I'm so glad that it worked out for you.
Here is a playlist of material that i learned and found on youtube that really helped me understand blues in general. It also has other things like general beginner things and stuff thats important too know like soloing stuff. I suggest you learn the thing in order of the playlist and see what and where would help you. ua-cam.com/play/PLnMMOX2cjcy7j0gLX44DovCJjxVnhunyV.html * General Beginner things * Fun heavy and punk lessons * Finger Picking * The Blues and how to get started and advance on * Improvising, soloing and general licks * History of pioneering and legendary guitarist to help you build your style and inspire
Congratulations on the channel being 5 years old great videos and I just learn nothing else matters from your videos, thank you and forever will be your UA-cam guitar student.
Hey Marty thanks for showing me the 12 bars the easy step beginner style I could follow Jerry Lee Lewis rock in the night away appreciate your lessons definitely going to support one of your blues programs.
As a complete begginer of everything guitar you made me comfy to go full blues while learning the basics of the basics, because I was really bored by all the starter things when I want to blues everything out.
Just chiming in also the say thanks. New player. You make the lessons fun and obtainable with goals. I've been playing for 3 months. My wife can actually recognize a couple things. I'm planning a tour soon. ;)
Yo Marty, i’m learning how to play the guitar really fast after meeting a guy on a crossroad, it was a very interesting/off feeling interaction but he taught me a few songs and i thank him for that he also brought me to your channel so thank him🖤❤️
Listen Marty you don't have to explain yourself Since I've never had lessons before any time I'm looking to learn something on the guitar whether it's a song or a scale you're there thank you.
Hey Marty. Thanks for sharing your love, and knowledge of the Guitar. I've been watching you since 2008. I've learned. A lot. And had so much joy. Peace, Love, and Positivity.
I’m finally at a point in my guitar journey where I’m not as much a robot anymore. I feel more comfortable than ever improvising and trying my own things so blues feels like home to me. Thanks Marty!
How come everytime I’m looking for a tutorial/ lesson on my guitar. Marty has a video? Why? I’ll tell you why. Because he’s an absolute legend! Thank you Marty. You’ve helped my “self taught” journey immensely
This is finally that what I‘m was looking for! I‘m 45 and just starting and I love blues and blues rock and this is what I wan‘t learn first! Thanks Marty!
thank you so much marty for being a great teacher! you're great at explaining things, and your lessons far exceed any other guitar tutorials i've seen, that's why i continue to use your videos. thank you!
You're a good teacher Marty. I've been a beginner for 30 years. I think I lose interest and lack patience. I'm trying again by starting with blues. Love the hat sir. 😎🥳💗
Sweet!! Beautiful break down Marty! W. C. Handy 1898, "Juba This and Juba That", was the first published 3 chord blues style progression, I believe. Love the E - lead chord progression. Great base harmony to be creative with. Your diversity and teaching talent seems so easy to follow. Thank you brother! Keep safe! Peace my friend
Hey Marty been watching your videos for about 2 years now been playing for awhile I'm trying to go back to the beginning to be a better player was anyway your lessons help a lot thanks man
You change my soul for the better, one lesson at a time. Had such an amazing result from this lesson!!!! “I’m doing it!!” I love you for all you share with the world - You are an OUTSTANDING teacher!

Hey Marty, I'm doing my junior cert levels for music and I'm asking you what song would be suitable to learn?
Thanks Marty. This was sooo much easier than meeting the devil at those crossroads at midnight and foregoing my soul.
Yes unfortunately Robert Johnson didn’t have the internet poor guy
🤣
😂😂😂😂
Awesome 👏😎
A friend is gonna let me see a video about this based on a movie cause he heard I like learning the blues and 50 songs
This is like an awakening for me, I'm a newer guitarist and something about blues makes my brain work
Blues makes everyone's brain work. It's a blast to play once you get the hang of it. Your gonna wish you started sooner.
I’m like chilling with smoke on the water and beat it, you’re probably way better
@@satyanpatel6403 you p

I subscribed to Marty's 15 video course on beginners 12 bar blues. I've tried other intros to this, but Marty's is hands down the best out there.
Great tone! And gotta love hitting that V at the end of the turnaround!
Its amazing how what would be power chords are also used in blues melodies. Very different genres, same setup.
Thank you Marty, glad to hear that you're running 5 years strong! Keep it up, you are awesome!!
Yo Marty, i’m learning how to play the guitar really fast after meeting a guy on a crossroad, it was a very interesting/off feeling interaction but he taught me a few songs and i thank him for that he also brought me to your channel so thank him🖤❤️

thank you so much marty for being a great teacher! you're great at explaining things, and your lessons far exceed any other guitar tutorials i've seen, that's why i continue to use your videos. thank you!
Please do more blues lessons! Maybe something for intermediate players, about how to move around the fretboard when there are chord changes.
Excellent, easy to learn from and nicely paced.
I really hope to be this good one day! Thanks for all the work you put out over the years
Good review, thanks Marty! I’d like to see you continue this with other turnarounds and basic riffs.
