You know this honestly was ONE of my favorite episodes. Me (African American) and my Nigerian ROCK (husband) have been married for 12 years. Dated a little over a year and got married. We built our solid foundation that at the time I had no clue we we're doing. You know why bc we knew our marriage was OUR marriage. My parents married over 40 yrs was a great thing to see. Taking some things into my marriage and leaving others behind. This was one thing they too hoped for us. For over 6 years we enjoyed each other creating a even deeper bond that I look back and get teary about. Tears of pure thankfulness. Digging deep, traveling, LAUGHING, growing as adults, becoming even better friends, and exploring new territories together. Realizing I don't just love this man I really like this human being. Without doubt after 6 years not one but two kiddos came to JOIN in on the festivities we say. Additions to the family that was built before they were even a thought. You are so right it has never felt like work. So grateful bc some do I hear. Pressure was always there from every corner but my husband to start a family soon. Let them keep their pressure. Marriage begins with you two and if/when the family leaves the nest ends with just you two. Love you both and Happy Anniversary!! Sorry if I wrote too much
You two are the most genuine example of love I've ever seen. I'm sitting here in tears. I am close to Ling's parents' age and was married for 20 years. I did not remarry and have not dated for a while. I'm waiting for God to send me my "Him," his man for me.
