- Sorry this video was so short but its a good 85 degrees outside and i was already dieing from putting everything on. Wont be so bad once i get the zipper installed in the stilts.
So yes this is my werewolf costume and give you a good idea how tall and bulked up i will look.
Suit is finished for the most part same with tail just needs airbrushing. Stilts only need zippers ans airbrushing.
I also did some changes to the stilts since my last video. Springs are gone and changed out with solid rubber bungies plus i added and elastic to hold my actual feet in the shoes. Makes walking in these stilts extremely easy plus SILENT!! thats right finally they are silent and i can easily walk around sneaking up on people ^__^
How did you make the stilts for your wolf costume?
With the fursuit did you pad the front of your thighs and back of the calfs?

really good job Monoyasha, i was out shopn today and getn all my materials together for making my first pair, used ur video for some great idea's, thanks for the awesome tips!!! i'll be sure to video mine when they are done and send you a link.. i'm a LARGE guy(6'8" & 315Lbs.) so i did have to make them a little more heavy duty.
Wow, these are NICE and so quiet! The only thing I'd improve upon is making the toes less ridged but then, they might be unstable so *shrug* still FANTASTIC work!

good for you and i have no problem with either. each to his own
cling wrap and Duct tape are your friends. For all my masks/suits i construct the base and foam, then i wrap them in cling wrap like a skin and renforce with duct tape (white color) once everything is covered i go back with a marker and draw lines for patterns and seams. cut off the tape where you mark seams and lay out each piece flat. there you have it a perfect pattern to cover your stilts in. I also have a long strip of velcro in the front.

I agree. Right now they just look too.. long and thin. The costume is going to look top heavy, especially when you put the head on.
I'm curious, the digitigrade legs you made, and and are wearing in this video, how much movement can you get in the ankle joint? Every tutorial for a set of legs like this I've found are very nearly rigid, and I'm looking to make a very slim-looking pair, that are very responsive in the ankle area, for a more natural look. Do you have any tips you could share with me on this matter? :P

I am currently in the process of making a werewolf suit of my own (stilts included) and I've been wondering because I can't tell, Are the top and bottom of the costume connected? If so, how is it done?

i think it also look odd b/c of my small head. this mask will not be one with my head it will be above it and my head will be in the neck. I will also make extensions to my hand and bulk them up to match. working on the longer/bigger tail now but thank you for the input
thank you! yes they are my first completed set so there are somethings i would like to change in the next model and the toes is one of them. it be neat to have a moving foot but as u noted the stability is lost
yes i realize this too now but could'nt tell till after the video. Im gonna make another but add the black stripe down it too. trial and error

I made them but i dont take commissions. might in 2010 after some structural testing and improving.

the only thing is that the proprtion is off the legs are to long but besides that it is awsome.
@Monoyasha I can imagine! I've been in 70-80 degree weather wearing layers of linen and wool and it gets too hot, the fur has got to be terribly sweltering.

@SlimySnail44 Yeah... 85 degrees OUTSIDE, and not counting sitting in all that fur and walking around in stilts. :P
Sorry but we've never made sock paws. ^^;
Need a bigger tail...that one's WAY too short and small for the size those stilts make you!
