Tose was such a sweetheart of a guy, which is why everyone rushed to help him when he needed it. I love how they said he would leave "a wake of $100 bills" to coat check ppl, valets, service staff, etc. And the Eagles Fly for Leukemia has helped save so many lives. THAT is his true legacy...not him losing the franchise. He's a far better human than 95% of NFL owners

This is a really good cautionary tale, especially for those who want to be rich, including players.

The story of Leonard Tose/Dick Vermeil/the city of Philadelphia is unique in the pantheon of the NFL.. The ups, the downs; finally becoming winners, the ultimate disappointment.. The Eagles Fly For Leukemia.. The laughter, the tears.. I was born in Allentown PA in 1965.. This is literally my life story.. I wouldnt have it any other way..

Mr. Tose did some decent things for the area, just look at the whole Luekemia fund raising, not to mention putting up his own $$$. Approachable guy who loved his team but the alcohol and gambling just ate him up. Further proof that addiction does not discriminate. Good Video and thanks for posting this.

He wanted to move the Eagles to Phoenix in '84.

Gambled the entire franchise away, if the owner was able to get away with it, who else has been gambling.
