Wanted to say thank you for supporting those with Parkinson Disease, my dad had it for 30 plus years. He passed away March of this year at age of 72. 😢
It was an honor to be a part of the Parkinson's walk. So many people are affected. I wish we would have talked a little more about it. Sorry about the loss of your father 😞
I've commented on a previous video of Harvey stating that I was working on one of my own. Yall have been a huge inspiration and influence on my project. It's coming along slowly but yall understand working around a full time job lol. I'm debating trying to make my own UA-cam series on it. I definitely don't have the budget that yall do but I want people to see that you don't have to be able to buy new things to make old things nice. Anyways keep pumping out these videos they're great!!
Go for it! It does make it take longer though to try to video everything as you go then have to edit it all up afterward. It's fun though. We are really going to have to reel in the budget on our next project (Holiday Rambler). Since it's a travel trailer with no engine, it will make it much less expensive. Good luck on your project!
T, love hearing you talk about your dad. He was a kind and great man, who raised an amazing son I call one of my dearest friends. Love you guys ❤. Thanks for posting the video on the correct night 😉!
Awesome job! Great you get the kids involved in cleaning. So many kids this day don’t want to work. They want money but don’t want to work for it. Thanks!
Just found your channel and I love it. I have been wanting to do this, but my husband said he is not mechanical. So though we could fix the inside he can’t work on the engine. And I know that’s expensive to have someone else fix it. I love how you and your husband work and joke together. It’s nice to see positivity and love. Thank you both.
I’m not mechanical either but have been wanting to Reno a 5th wheel RV, so that way you don’t need to worry about an engine, but will need a truck to tow it. Still seems more feasible for people without mechanical skills.
First I wanted to say my husband and I love watching you, we love all the old movies references lol. We were watching this episode and when you asked what ever happened to the Japanese beetles we looked at each other and said oh no they just jinxed themselves lol. Last summer we had talked about the beetles and said the same thing what ever happened to them, and this year we were over run by them in our garden. 😢 Good luck 😊
That tin ceiling treatment for the bottom of the cabinet is an awesome idea. I have a similar situation in my fifth wheel where I removed an ugly 12v fluorescent light fixture and replaced it with a slimline LED light. The old fixture left lots of holes in the cabinet including a huge hole for the wires. I think I may use the tin to cover everything up.
Hope out turns out for you! We got this piece from Home Depot, ordered online. I just saw peel and stick tin roof looking stickers at Dollar Tree though! Maybe check that out too 👍👍
I love y'all! You are so entertaining with your banter back and forth. It is obvious that you have such a wonderful relationship. It was so nice to see y'all including the kids in your RV rehab. Can't wait until the next installment!
What is going on Happy Smiling Couple, Keep up the Great work, My wife and I just found your channel and binged watched 10 episodes last night , We Love your hard work. And make sure when you get a chance Smile some more, that's how we Get the hateful ones to lighten up. GOD BLESS YOU ALL ❤️😜🙏✝️🇺🇸
Oh wow! Pace yourselves! We're pretty new to UA-cam so you're going to blow through our content too quickly, lol. Well, you could always re-watch everything if you run out of videos. Thanks for watching! We're happy to have you along for the ride!
Yes, we have stink bugs too and June bugs! They both really suck! The RV or I should say Harvey is looking really good. You all are doing a great job! It’s nice to see the whole family can work together without a lot of chaos and laugh together also. Great video 💜💜💜
yawl are doing great working on the camper as a family. I use to go to work with my dad a lot as a kid every weekend when he was driving a Tow truck. I road with all the drivers and loaded cars on my own and I believe it's good to have kids do things like that yawl are coming along way on this build.
“Raise the roof”…. you guys are killin’ it! I love the floor! The camper is looking so good… let me know when we are taking it for a spin! Looks perfect for a girls trip 😬😀
I love all your choices in this renovation. I think the retro green is stunning. Light fixtures are awesome. The kitchen section with the butcher block in the drop-in sink and stove just amazing. Awesome work❤
Love the flooring. It's looking pretty good and hopefully it won't overheat when your going down the road. My wife keeps asking me what is the next project your going to try and I have to tell her it's time for a vacation. Maybe a camping trip!!!! God bless you and your whole family.
Thank you, Harold! We definitely want to get out camping before winter if we can! We also have the holiday rambler that we want to start on once Harvey is a little further along. Thanks for watching!
I can’t stop laughing 😂 I’m going to go in order here…. That “still smiling” got me going 😂…. Next when she said no cursing I immediately said “fiddle faddle” and then he said it and I was just a gigglin like a 4 year old…. Next I’m like bruh if you’re taking something off the front end of the engine now’s a good time to replace EVERYTHING then he mentions it… hahaha classic… I think what really got me was when she said “I numbered all the cabinets and where they came from” I’m like excellent, smart then she said “I painted over all the numbers, so it’s a crap shoot” I couldn’t help it I died 💀🤭. Sighs, this was very good… reminiscing about your dad and working with him made me smile. My dads birthday was 4 days ago, he passed back in 90 when I was 12 and he taught me soooo much, about being a man and how to take care of things that I in turn taught all of my sons… I was able to learn his conservative values and family and what’s important and then instilled that in my boys who are between the ages of 16-20. I went from laughing to sadness but in a good way. There’s lots to learn and pick up in these videos… it’s not just a goofy couple in love fixing up and old rv… there’s lessons to be learned here if you’re looking. Anyways, just my .02 keep being awesome 👊🏾👍🏾 Also my dad being super southern boy from Fairfield Texas he called those gallinippers and no one never knows what the hell im talking about unless they were raised “country like” 😂 to see you say that got me smiling.. yeah I don’t do giant flying things or Beetles 😂 I’d have to stop the film and smoke that stink bug and gallinipper. My specialty is blood n guts and my outdoors love is always the desert. We do get June bugs and gallinippers though. Damn June bugs always want to chase me 😂 and yes you will see guys in uniform run from them. Half my station evacuated when one got inside 😂. Big ass men rolling out… the only girl on the shift when it and let it out lol no comment 🤭🤫. She was a trooper 🫡
I think you just won the award for the best comment. We read it last night and are so appreciative. We're so glad you're enjoying the videos. We lost Tyler's dad a couple of years ago and we miss him a lot. Love the story about the guys screaming and running from the bug. So funny that you know them as gallinippers, so close to galliwompers! Thank you for your service and we hope you have a great night.
Absolutely love what you've done in this video the floor is amazing but that kitchen oh I just love the pressed metal look...great job...looking forward to your next video .from Australia🇦🇺.
Oh my gosh! We've never been anyone's spirit animals before! How flattering! Hopefully that doesn't come with too many responsibilities. We're very busy these days, lol.
I grew up in Lansing, Illinois, but spent a ton of time in Michigan, so I’m familiar with your campy sarcasm. Keep doin what you do and I’ll keep watching. Thanks for “getting” my humor. 😂
The former furnace space looks ideal for filling with Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries to go with solar panels on the roof. The spring things to hold the cabinet doors open should also go over center a bit when closed to hold them shut, and they should keep the handles from hitting the ceiling when the doors are open.
Ooh, good point about them keeping the handles from hitting the ceiling! We haven't had time to add those yet but it's on the list! Solar and batteries aren't on the list yet but maybe one day! That would be the perfect location though.
I have little patience watching the engine work because that is not RV work. We have only had towables. I don't enjoy watching engines worked on but this guy does a good job. My dad used to work on our cars too.
Thanks for watching, Christine... it would be so much faster to work on a travel trailer with no engine! We're looking forward to starting work on the Holiday Rambler soon!
Hey you silly smiling amazing people. Love the video. Everything is looking so wonderful. Just a little thought for what it's worth. I was thinking just for the few maiden voyages, could you secure the kitchen faucet sprayer 😖Im afraid it might just swing loose and break those amazing vintage windows. Keep up the great team work. 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Thanks for that suggestion! We'll need to check on that. I'm sure we'll realize a lot of little things need to be more secure once we start driving! Hopefully soon!!!
we're doing a 1990 all the way, i have a granddaughter helping now, lol, it's alot!! can't wait to get it on the road, maybe we'll see ya'll out there too
If I am not mistaken, that shirt with the bear is carring a surf board that says CALIFORNIA in it. I own the same shirt, but mine is white. The bike is blue. My dad gave it to me about 5 years ago before he passed away. The Eastern Masasuaga Rattlesnake is the only poisonous snake in Michigan.

Hey Guys! Loving try videos. I’m trying get all 36 in. Under the understanding that I can spend the hell out of your money: I would upgrade the exhaust system to duels. With that said, I would probably go with at least 3 inch. For my mufflers I would go with Flowmaster 70s. They are very quiet and close to stock. You will not get the drone normally associated with the other muffler. To be safe and not get any drone you can go with some small resonator mufflers in the back. That would get you a safe, efficient, and quiet exhaust system that will last for many years to come. There is a lot of debate regarding aftermarket headers. In my opinion, the factory headers are just fine. What is gained with aftermarket headers quite frankly… The juice is not worth the squeeze. Keep up the great work! Now I’m going back to the videos.
I would love to get some new exhaust on Harvey. It does have duels but could stand an upgrade. 3" and Flowmasters would be sweet. If you we wind up getting around to that, headers would probably be looked at too. Maybe someday 😉
You are very kind. We are definitely keeping up a pretty crazy pace these days! Still hoping to get out to the campground this year! Thanks for the comment!
Look at y'all gittenerdone!! I'm just gonna say though, having to wait 12 days between videos is way too long!!! That's way too much suspense time to see what's new in Harvey the RV!! Chip and JoJo would be so proud of what you've done with this old beauty and how well it's turning out!! Can't wait to see this back out on the road and how well all the new and improved features are going to work. Plumbing the kitchen to the black tank is def the right answer. Having a tote under the sink would get real old real fast. Plus the more water in that single tank the better to keep everything flowing nicely!!! Keep up the great work!! And don't keep us waiting so long for the next installment!!
Haha, well look who got out of comment jail 😂 We were wondering if they'd let you comment on this one. Whenever we're making design decisions, we just think WWJJD; we strive everyday to make JoJo proud 😂. We'll try to get the videos out quicker now that we know you (and probably Chip and Jo) are feeling suspense waiting so long. Thanks again for watching!
@@retrorevivals Comment jail🤦🏻♂️. WWJJD is the perfect mindset for this whole project!! There’s no question they’re watching this project as closely as anyone else. Still can’t believe you haven’t heard from them yet. And, you’re welcome. This channel is way too much fun not to watch!!
Here in northern AZ we don't have any of those bugs (for the most part) since we're so high up in elevation, nor do we have snakes. Unfortunately it comes at the cost of no jobs and low wages so my wife and I are gonna be moving back to the midwest to the western Michigan area sometime soon. RV is coming out really nicely so far!
Oh my gosh, that's hilarious 😂 Tyler is definitely a "use the right tool for the job" kind of guy. I (Christy) am a "use whatever is closest that will work" type of person. It drives him crazy. Thanks for the comment.
Harvey the RV. Love it. We are restoring a travel trailer that came named..."Eddie"...it's the brand name, but it's kinda growing on us. You're making great progress! Love how the ceiling turned out! My hubby loves Rock Auto.
Try that screen tape to repair it. We bought a Bronco that was a Forest Service vehicle and it had 4” of very fine mud in all the door panels and it took awhile to get that all out. It was crazy. Didn’t find any critters though.
I couldn't find your other video I don't know if you'll read this but like I said when you guys took off for your little trip after everything was somewhat done when you had that whining of the belt you should check to see the amperage pole put in amperage gauge in when the refrigerator kicks in you can see the amperage pole and see if it coincides with that you may have to put a double belt in a high amp alternator for running all the more electricities sometimes you can even install a second alternator like ambulance do a 440 torque would pull that with no problem Hope this gets to you and helps you out
Thanks so much for the comment! That was something that didn't occur to us at the time. We were pretty much on panic mode trying not to be late to see the kids. We were able to get it to stop yelling by tightening the belt but it's something we'll keep in mind if we have alternator issues down the road.
Hi Bob, this is Christy. I know Tyler bought the radiator off of eBay. I'll ask him to send you more information on it tonight when he's home from work.
19:39 It was at this moment, he knew, that he'd screwed up! Where the furnace was, I would have put in a deep draw for pots & pans, lowered the fridge, & had a microwave at the top
Haha, yes! We definitely need to do something with that space where the old furnace was. We're trying to decide if we need additional interior or exterior storage more.
For the ceiling vent? Well, they actually were the wrong screws, lol... but it didn't help that we were trying to screw through a drywall screw too. Oops.
We'll add a trap under the sink so, as long as water stays in the trap, it won't let any gasses come up (or bacteria). The camper was plumbed that way originally so it should be ok. If not, lesson learned!
The flooring can be cut pretty easily with a jigsaw for the corners. Then you'll want to put floor trim over it since you're supposed to leave an expansion gap. Thanks for continuing to watch, Cindy!
We always look forward to your new releases. One question, if it hasn't already been answered. Did you choose the Dodge platform or was it the right thing at the right time..
That's a good question... it'll probably weigh a little more but shouldn't be too bad. We should have weighed it in the beginning before starting the demo!
I'm going to start a parking business....... $50 for campers, $100 for trucks with trailers .. It's cheaper than therapy, and you won't be mad at your spouse for yelling at you the whole time you're at the campground :)
We have some critters! That "big mosquito" thing we called a gallywhomper I don't think it's really a mosquito but it looks like one. Thanks for watching 🎉🎉
Hey brother it's OK I'm also a captured net working on my RV as well. I most definitely would like to speak with you about some things on my retro 94RV which is an excellent condition I really had no water damage but I would like to get in contact with you or you can get in contact with me.
I’ve been watching some of these videos and really enjoying them. I don’t understand why you would paint the solid oak cabinets, then put fake wood on the ceiling. It looks good, but (you have to admit) it IS ironic.

What a compliment! Thanks for making us smile. Hope you enjoyed the video 😁
Its looking great guys ! You both should be happy bringing the old girl back to life !

Thanks! 🥳🥳
Omg! I just want to come over and make you guys supper!! lol you must be so tired at the end of day! ❤️🇨🇦
You are very kind. We are definitely keeping up a pretty crazy pace these days! Still hoping to get out to the campground this year! Thanks for the comment!
Awesome.
Thanks!
🙌
Nice work, I really enjoy your channel
Thank you very much!
Western Michigan is beautiful! Thanks for the comment!
Pounding with everything except a hammer, my Science teacher used to call those people Primitive Pete’s!
Oh my gosh, that's hilarious 😂 Tyler is definitely a "use the right tool for the job" kind of guy. I (Christy) am a "use whatever is closest that will work" type of person. It drives him crazy. Thanks for the comment.
Looks great, a lot off hard work
Yes, thank you and thanks for the comment!
If hubby can’t see me in the mirror he has to stop moving the vehicle… that’s when I figure out he can’t see me. It is an interesting dance!
Yes, exactly!
Harvey the RV. Love it. We are restoring a travel trailer that came named..."Eddie"...it's the brand name, but it's kinda growing on us. You're making great progress! Love how the ceiling turned out! My hubby loves Rock Auto.
Thanks so much for the comment! We're happy to have you following along. You mean, Rock Otto? 😂😂😂
@@retrorevivalsright! My bad. 😂😂
Beautiful 🙌🏽🫶🏽✨🤩
Thank you! 🎉🎉
I like what you do I watch your ever night
That's amazing, Carol! Thank you so much! We're happy that you're enjoying our videos 😁😁
Try that screen tape to repair it. We bought a Bronco that was a Forest Service vehicle and it had 4” of very fine mud in all the door panels and it took awhile to get that all out. It was crazy. Didn’t find any critters though.
Thanks for the suggestion! 4" of mud doesn't sound like fun!
@@retrorevivals your welcome. And the mud was very tedious “long screwdriver” 🪛 to get in this nooks and crannies.
I think you should go ahead and put the vinyl plank on that bottom step.
You're probably right, actually... we want to have a mat there cut to size but we could always put the mat over the vinyl. Thanks for the comment!
Were did you purchase the radiator from.? Thanks for all the videos on the dodge I've a 74 B300 seating since 1989 need a lots of work
Hi Bob, this is Christy. I know Tyler bought the radiator off of eBay. I'll ask him to send you more information on it tonight when he's home from work.
Thanks for all videos of this VAN CAMPER From B300 SPORTSMAN void of a class C CAMPER
I think the fan issues is about using the appropiate screws.
For the ceiling vent? Well, they actually were the wrong screws, lol... but it didn't help that we were trying to screw through a drywall screw too. Oops.
😂loved the captured nut comment… the question is who captured who 😂😂
Haha, somehow we captured each other. Thanks for watching!
Hey we have really enjoyed your videos, hoping all is well….. are you still active on your channel? Hope so 😊
Yes! We're still plugging along! Thanks so much for watching 😊😊
Use walkie talkie when you are backing up or even your cell phones work much better than hand signals!
Great idea! Our phones often get poor service at campgrounds but the walkie idea might work!
You guys are awesome! I am curious how you will keep the methane from the black tank from coming up the kitchen sink?
Not to mention the bacteria 🦠
We'll add a trap under the sink so, as long as water stays in the trap, it won't let any gasses come up (or bacteria). The camper was plumbed that way originally so it should be ok. If not, lesson learned!
My dad passed.away of Parkinson disease. He was 82 years old I miss him every day. He died December 24 20/20 at 11:05 pm
That's tough, sorry for your loss 😔
How do you do around the corners of floor? Looking at doing mine.
We actually didn't choose it, it chose us. Thanks for watching!
how much more is it going to weigh when you're done than when it was new?
That's a good question... it'll probably weigh a little more but shouldn't be too bad. We should have weighed it in the beginning before starting the demo!
I'm going to start a parking business.......
$50 for campers, $100 for trucks with trailers ..
It's cheaper than therapy, and you won't be mad at your spouse for yelling at you the whole time you're at the campground :)
Sign us up! It would make the first day of every camping trip much more enjoyable 😁😁
Paint you mirror black it would be an improvement.
Yes, we need to do something with the uggggly mirrors soon! Thanks for the comment!
I have the 1974 B300 model without a Fanclutch can I retrofit to a Fancluch
I'm not certain but I imagine so. You might need longer bolts. Also, pay attention to your radiator clearance.
I’ve only ever seen mosquitoes, but ours are much smaller than yours.. all the other bugs are wholly unfamiliar to me..
We have some critters! That "big mosquito" thing we called a gallywhomper I don't think it's really a mosquito but it looks like one. Thanks for watching 🎉🎉
We have all thoses bugs plus snakes.
Yikes!!😬
Are you gonna sell Harvey when you are done?
We're not really sure. We're hoping to get a little use out of it then we might consider selling. Why, you in the market to buy?
No. I live in Missouri. I just know that to many vehicles spoil the neighborhood. I hope you keep doing renovations.
Hey brother it's OK I'm also a captured net working on my RV as well. I most definitely would like to speak with you about some things on my retro 94RV which is an excellent condition I really had no water damage but I would like to get in contact with you or you can get in contact with me.
Sounds like a fun project! No water damage? We don't know what that's like 😂 You can email us at retrorevivals76@gmail.com 👍👍
We can take a couple more inches. What she says 😂
Oh my gosh, doing these kinds of projects, there are so many opportunities for "that's what she said" jokes. Gotta keep it family friendly though, lol
❤moroco🇲🇦🇺🇸👍
Thanks for watching!
🥰😍🤩👍👍👍
❤️
If Tyler didn't do the mechanic work on, this project wouldn't be possible. The overall cost of the project would probably be double...
Yes, for sure! No way we would've been able to afford a mechanic bill 💸
Laminate floor
We ended up with vinyl plank. We didn't get the best quality but we're hoping it holds up!
Go cardinals

I’ve been watching some of these videos and really enjoying them. I don’t understand why you would paint the solid oak cabinets, then put fake wood on the ceiling. It looks good, but (you have to admit) it IS ironic.
Haha 😂😂. We never thought about the irony in that. Thanks for the comment 🎉
