So I had a sort of "what if" idea. What if Man of Steel used the legendary Superman theme scored by John Williams? Well, here you can see what it would've been like.

Oh, this would have been perfect. The comedy works so well when the music stops as he hits the mountain. Just the levity this film needed.

Unfortunately, it didn't have it. Most of the movie was too gritty for my taste. Besides, compare to Richard Donner's take, it didn't feel as uplifting

This is pretty much what the man of steel trailer should've been. Used in a similar way Nolan did his batman promos using complete scenes.
That Krypton theme always gets me.
Imagine the kids who are big superman fans watching the scene in theatres :)

As a fan of the Hans Zimmer score, and a big fan of it, I didn't think I'd like this, however this scene is OUTSTANDING with this score!! With either score mind you it still is but this score gives it more of the Hope feel that Superman looks to bring to the world, something that Man of Steel liked, personally I think it was due to the music, they focused it more on action and atmosphere building, which was good for the fights and that but for this scene I think they should have brought back the original Superman theme!! I was a little disappointed by this video as the main part of the theme wasn't used, the part where it really builds up and is the iconic, most memorable part, however it was still epic!!! Awesome work man!!
Glenn Higgins He didn’t do a bad job at all, but in my opinion I was expecting to hear the main theme as well but The Planet Krypton has always been the identifier for Superman. It always show the mystique, essence and discovery of him being from another world and becoming Earth’s greatest hero.
Gonna be honest I feel absolutely nothing with this score, I much rather Zimmer...
This was really really good. I especially appreciate the brighter colours. A small detail that makes it feel more hopeful, like superman should

I greatly admire the work of Hans Zimmer, especially in Batman v Superman. But the man of steel, I missed the soundtrack of John Williams. He eternalized the superman with his compositions, especially the songs used in this video. Good job Ultra Sargent.

Been saying ever since MOS came out they should have kept the John Williams score, it brings some of the magic back of what Superman is, something Snyder hasn't got a clue about. A bit of tweaking and we could have an incredible Superman on screen instead of what we've got, awesome work dude, thumbs up!
Cavill has the potential to be a fantastic Superman. It sucks that his being held back by writers who don't know what the fuck they're doing.

Well they're shaping him up to be like the original superman in the future. That was what the writers were going for anyway and even Joe-El's line in this clip foreshadowed it.

Beautiful work. I love The track they played in this part called Flight and I love the MoS Soundtrack but Williams knows how to capture the beauty of superman and Wonder and the awe if superman with that theme its so awesome. I hope they put it in supergirl when supe shows up THEY BETTER. I thought Hans Zimmer's soundtrack fit the tone and mood of Man of Steel better than Williams', but this bit definitely worked with the scene! Both soundtracks/composers are absolutely incredible.

something like this is what they should have done for the film, MoS divided the audience and those who don't like it have every right to not like it. I they had found a way to incorporate the John williams score you I think the film would have done much much better. The reason we don't already have a MoS 2 is because this film and BvS both divided the audience and way underperformed at the box office they should have done double what they did. I don't think Zach understands how to show the heart of who superman is.

It's certainly possible. Many movies have been re-cut by fans and are perceived better than the original.

Ideal of hope, flight, and arcade all accomplish an aspect of superman whether that be power, symbol or personality.
