The world is changing so fast that it no longer makes sense to plan on living in one location for 20 years. Who thought 20 years ago China would be this advanced, and America would end up where it's heading? I think paying attention to what's going on and having ongoing 5 year plans would be wise as the world shifts one way or another.

@@kukikukac You must be joking. That or completely ignorant of what's going on. Do a search on their tech. They implement things lightning fast. As I said in my last response (before it mysteriously deleted), was that I went to Shenzhen like 7 years ago and they weren't even using cash anymore BACK THEN. I don't remember anywhere that people weren't using WeChat to pay for everything - subways, restaurants, shops, massage salons. In CA, where I no longer live fully since I'm in Asia now, they are still using cash and credit cards at restaurants most of the time. All you have to do is not be willfully ignorant, search some China tech videos and see that they have long since added 5g all over, face recognition to get into buildings or to purchase things, buses that drive over traffic. Have you even been there? You should go and experience it. We can be pro US and still be realistic at how much faster they are advancing into the future than we are (which is partly cool and partly crazy dystopia - and why I have 5 year plans to recognize and move on).

As a Turkish citizen living in Istanbul, i would avoid getting a Turkish Passport. It's currently treated by EU & USA as one of the most suspicious passports. You can not event make an appointment to get a Schengen visa. Even if you do, that's most likely rejected, no matter if you have relatives living in EU for example. On the other hand, hefty taxes are planned to be loaded on the citizens, including crypto. But the most important thing, the quality of life is really lacking in Istanbul.

I think an EU passport is also attractive because you can live in ANY EU country as long as you want. This is something which doesn't appear in passport rankings but it is high value IMO. You can stay as long as you want in Spain, France, Hungary or Greece.

Their economies are not great and living costs can be higher then you expect, healthcare is also patchy, hence why ALOT of Europeans move or try to move to the UK despite the headaches and cost compared to EU movement

I work in Dubai for 260 dolars monthly, i move in Norway i do the same job for 3600 dolar.
How did you move to Norway?
That is the salary ceiling in norway for most normal jobs. Here you earn very much on low end jobs while the salary is very low for high end jobs. It's a great place for the lazy people, but the punishment is very brutal if you actually want to work hard.

I got natively a passport that is ranked 2nd in the Global Passport Power index, but taxes here are crazy, even if you want to start as a sole trader you are already taxed before making any transactions. EU-wise you should look at Estonia as you can get e-citizenship, Bulgaria also has 15% flat tax and there is a decent network of foreigner investors. Northern EU countries have high living standards, but by being social democracies taxes are high, you have to pour in a lot money to get in return a solid peace of mind when it comes to health care, education, social welfare, pensions.
I agree. You have to go where you like. For me I'm thinking about a latin america residency setup since i can speak spanish and theres little time zone difference. Im also thinking about something in SE Asia as well or the north african region. I know if i did the latin america residency option i would do México and Paraguay. Asia im looking at Philippines or indonesia.
I agree, having more options gives you more oppprtunities. I aim for at least three citizenships, though it's not a simple process. Let's explore and see how feasible it is.
Just to correct you, UAE is not giving passport anymore not matter how much you invest. However you can get golden residency visa (10 years) only if you buy property for certain amount.

The problem is, I can’t see not being able to live where my business is based out of… hundred percent, this will deter business. This is reason why I would never invest in Panama or China. Both countries will never give out permanent citizenship under any circumstances to a foreigner, hence, they shouldn’t ever received my dollar. I’m not saying I want to get a citizenship in every country I visit, however, the option should be there… And if it’s not, that is a 100% fail for investing, do not pass go, do not collect $200

I'm not sure why he's bragging about being a citizen in so many countries. Does he actually intend to spend all that airfare money to constantly bounce around all the countries he intends to become a citizen of? It doesn't make sense. Most people (99%) just live and work in one country. I prefer the option of not constantly traveling.

You need to be a natural born citizen to qualify, so his naturalized MX passport doesnt help with this, only him being born in Puerto Rico. Big reason to have your child be born somewhere in Latin America, they get citizenship by birth + 2 years for Spanish citizenship
Portugal 🇵🇹 still has the NHR program. They haven't axed it yet but you have to live there. I prefer their CBI options. As for Dubai, like Singapore, they want to keep their citizenry for the most part homogeneous and that is why they make it so hard to become a citizen. For tax purposes, one really needs to look into offshore trusts.

5:25 and this is exactly what i suggest, you set up a base there, then just travel especially if you dont have a family. then visit Dubai 2-3 times per year. I do not suggest any professional person without a mainland company to LIVE in Dubai. Freezone means exactly that, freely move in and out LOL.

Yeah, 9% corporate tax, but I think that the first $100K of profit is tax-free.
Off-shore companies don't pay any income tax in Dubai. You only pay the 9% if your company focuses on doing local business in the Dubai economy.

Only problem is that 5-6 years is a very short period and if you like living there then you are back to 50% after that brief period. What many people don't know is that almost every European country has a pretty complicated tax law where many loopholes are baked into the law when using corporations. For example in Belgium you can take about $80k a year out of your company as "intellectual property" taxed at 16.5%. You can also lend money to your company and then take out interest at a 30% flat tax etc. Overall you can keep your tax burden under 30% if you really understand the law. Not great but reasonable.

You were always traveling. It was clear that Dubai wasn't the place you wanted to live long-term. Getting a tier-1 passport in Europe will allow you to travel and stay short term in the U.S. without paying taxes because you will not be a citizen. End goal.
I don't know about this guy, I don't watch his channel, but it's clear you know sh1t about Dubai. One of the points of Dubai is that it's a great base for other places. There are 10-15 bank holidays in the summer, and most people take the majority of the 25 day annual leave (5 weeks) off in the summer in addition, plus most companies allow you to work remotely for a few weeks in the summer too. Dubai is very hot from June to August, and most people go travelling or are based elsewhere. That's the cool thing about Dubai - and you're not far from either Europe or Asia. People who live long-term in Dubai for 10+ years still follow this schedule more or less. Dumbass.
He doesn't ever "want" to go back to the US if he can help it. He only wants it to be an open option to him, just in case. And without too much hassle.

The best thing about being wealthy is not having to worry about where you need to live. If you love Europe, then live in Europe. Living in UAE, a place that potentially won't like, to save on taxes, doesn't make you a wealthy Expat.
If you do like Dubai though, then move to Dubai but don't do it for the taxes.
That’s a short-term thinking silly position. Taxes are obviously important to manage to remain wealthy. Difference between rich and poor is poor like to spend like a drunken sailor (not managing taxes is the same as spending a lot), vs. rich control spending and taxes.
@@EnderViBrittania Not that simple, especially where I'm from. In UK, economy has stagnated for 13 years and wages have stagnated for 15 years. House to wage earnings ratio in 1970s/1980s was 3, now in 2023 it is around 8 and so houses have become much more unaffordable. In USA, middle class has been declining for decades as well as trade union membership. In 1960s, 1/3 of workers were in a union, today it is just 1/10. Since 1978, the CEO compensation among America’s 300 biggest companies has gone up 1,460%, while the typical worker’s pay grew by just 18% (both adjusted for inflation). So, while some poor people do engage in careless spending, the vast majority of poor people are not poor because they like to "spend like a drunken sailor" - there are many issues surrounding it.

I have those TWO passport mixes. I am Argentine Austrian. So I have Mercosur countries available and the EU.
It's not what you think. I'm from the west and lived in the US all my life and lived now in DUBAI and It's almost like slavery if you work for a company. If you have a business and want to build a business here in DUBAI then okay you'll be happy to be here in DUBAI. But, trust me salary here even with a degree is so low with slavery hours of working. There's even no overtime. Even traffic in dubai and accident are a huge massive problem!!! Youll never even reach home! So, please think about it to save you some headache.
Working in the US for a company is not slavery here? There's no traffic in the US? It's the same exact thing here. At least in Dubai you are safe walking outside in the streets. In the US you are not even safe in broad daylight. Have you been here in the past 3 years? It is completely different here now. It's a complete shithole.
I also recently learnt about the Kafala system which majority of gulf states have and if I'm correct exploits many migrant workers, particularly from Pakistan, India, Indonesia, etc..
I know a lot of amazing folks in Dubai, I have business connections and have visited. It's great but I just can't see myself living there. The lifestyle is too crazy.
Only if you choose that lifestyle. There are many neighborhoods away from the hustle/bustle where people live very quiet lives.

Dubai isn't generally a healthy environment for single foreigners. The fact of the matter is that most people get caught up in that life and let's be honest, it's promoted and allowed by the government. It's easy to say you don't have to partake in it but the singles that move there are going there with the intention to wild out. Any westerner that is single not looking to be high and partying and whatever all the time, they don't move there. I do see families there and that's a little different. Usually they end up there specifically because of work and the much higher salaries.

What do you have to pay in taxes (percentage) if you have a primary residence outside of the U.S. but are still a U.S. citizen?
it is not so easy. If you live outside US you only have to pay taxes if you make over $150k taxable income? - forgot the exact amount but there is a large exemption. Then you also have credit for income taxes you paid in a foreign country. So most US expats living abroad don't pay any taxes to US.
But it is tax filing and foreign bank and investment reporting requirements which annoy everyone. You have to file tax returns and report everything even though you don't owe any taxes and penalties for not filing are outrages.
One caveat: if you have income coming from US and live abroad full time then that income is taxed as if you are at home. Foreign exemptions and tax credits don't apply to it.
If you live abroad and making more than $150k and not paying any taxes to foreign country you will pay US may be 25% on average, there is sliding scale the more you make the more you pay 15-35%.
Ireland is an excellent option IMO, Unfortunately I'm from Ireland so I can't be non-dom here.

I have an EU passport and have lived in the UK for over 5 years, so I soon can apply for citizenship and get another passport here. I'm confused. In one of the videos you mentioned that if I wanted to move to a tax-free country, I would need to cut ties with my previous countries so they don't treat me as their tax resident when I do business somewhere else like Dubai. I'm wondering if getting citizenship here wouldn't be creating such a tie?

The Westerns don't know the harsh reality about UAE. Besides worst weather ever, they treat you as you are an easy prey which means they can take your money in a second, and put you in prison. Whether you carry American passport or British passport no one will save you from those animals.

Unless you have a lot of taxes to pay on a lot of money and are willing to spend a lot of money on a business or some other loophole and are willing to leave your family behind, because you are going to be very lonely, it may not pay to go through all that riggamorrow just to avoid taxes. What we need to know is what is the Tresh hold in terms of dollars for all this expense to be worth the gamble and uprooting of your entire life. And even then I don't know if an amount would be accurate in terms of one size fits all. One may be better off staying and looking at other options. If you know who can get away with not paying his taxes, then we should all be not paying or mitigating our taxes.
Well i lived in Middle East for up to 20 years and to build up a business from scratch is kinda impossible, middle east got a different scope for a foreign residents specially in long term living , the flexibility of running a business or moving out among jobs is quite hard, if i got a rigid structure that qualifies me to build up a businesses i’d rather choose a different place than Middle East for multiple reasons one of them is to be fully independent controller of my own business without any restrictions. Eventually it depends on what you want to have.
