I have loved every version of Geddy's voice as he's aged and changed, but the music I hear from this tour is my favorite version. I love that he uses he full range of his voice and has smoothed the sharp corners of his younger voice.
This is the first Rush song I ever heard on the radio in the NY City area back in 1992. I still say this song is just perfection. Perfect bass, drums and guitar work all around, not too long, but not too short, nothing over the top to deter people from or make the non-fans cringe. It's also one of the only "love songs" Rush ever wrote, as Neil admitted that if he were to write one, he wanted to put a unique spin on it. That transition is also totally mesmerizing! I just get lost in it every single time. If you think this version is good, check out the studio version. Geddy's voice is much crisper and on point, and Alex's guitar rings through much louder and clearer on it.
@@aspackblaze3583 I second that, three really great choices. Cinderella Man...I like the instrumental break but the rest of it, not so much - maybe skip that one for now 😂
My suggestion for your next Rush track, an awesome 90’s track from the album Counterparts (a front to back amazing record in their canon) it’s called Cut To The Chase! Like I said, this album is one of several classics in their discography. Not a dud on the record.
Saw this tour in Tampa Florida at the Ford Amphitheatre in 2007. It was 2nd best, right behind the R30 tour. Lucky enough to see the R40 show on my birthday in 2015. They are the GOATS of all music!
Once you get past all the 'famous' tracks, you know, the ones that get requested a billion times already, you start to open up to Rush's true musical diversity, finding some truly beautiful composed tracks by them, that just get simply overlooked. This track is from their Roll The Bones album. Criminally underplayed, along with Hold Your Fire. Some of their best stuff, quite often overlooked. It's such a shame.
Are you a fan of The Lord of the Rings? The books or movies? There's a song that most Rush fans do not like but it is a nod towards the LOTR and it is called Rivendell... :) Sometime you can play it for your own enjoyment if you don't want to react to it on the channel. Ghost of a Chance is one of their later songs I do like and this particular performance was great to enjoy. If you want storytellers try out The Milk Carton Kids and a song called A Whisper In Her Ear.
Speaking of blues, I don't see Stevie Ray Vaughan listed on your channel. I you check out Texas Flood live at El Mocambo you will make up for the loss of views on this one.
Rush is funny with views. Some of my favorite songs from the get the lowest views. I just hope the majority of the fan base knows about these gems! If not, they are really missing out
There are a lot of fans that gave up on the band through the 80's and believe the only good Rush is 70's Rush. I was able to find enjoyment in their experimentation. The musicianship and lyrics are always top notch.@@ShawnSalvadori
Definitely a top 10 RUSH song! Thanks much. ☮ "The Analog Kid" should be a MUST LISTEN as well! 🏆

I did tune back in to watch the reaction - thank you so much! I love this song and I'm glad you enjoyed it too 🥰
This was such a great pick, thank you!
This is our wedding song believe it or not!
Great choice!
This is a great deep cut from Rush, here’s a couple more to check out: Cinderella Man, Cut to the Chase, Available Light and Territories.🔥
Great recommendations! Except Cinderella Man, lol.

What a great deep cut. They pulled this one out of nowhere in 2008. Totally unexpected. It was only played previously in 91 the year it was released.
Such a great song! One of my favorite to this point from Rush

love your channel, love Rush, love your Rush reactions!
A great song.
Probably my favorite song on Roll The Bones. Also one of my favorite solos from Alex…

In my top 5 of Rush tunes. Also love Cold Fire. I, too, lean away from the hits....
Studio version is even better

Should have listened to the studio version, these later live performances aren't great. 😕
The band is firing on all cylinders here. It’s just that Geddy’s voice is starting to age. He’s still ok here but you can tell.
