glad to see you have decided to stay and hopefully enjoy the country :D idk if people in te commends have already sujested this but you can get fairly cheap kitchens from Videnov, when I bought my apartment I got my kitchen from them fairly cheap, the entire thing for like 800-900 levs and the same for the bedroom...
Thank you 🙏 we did travel to VT to visit the Videnov store, but it only had living room and bedroom furniture on display which was disappointing..we've since seen that they do kitchen things online, but we need to have a good look on their site for options/prices.. Thanks so much for the advice though..its always worth knowing other people's experiences when looking for things.. 😉👍 take care..
Progress is being made! You can't rush a woman's design choices, and I love your patience and amusement around them! You will both feel and be so much more comfortable once you have the basic kitchen and bathroom in place. I like your atmospheric music around the deconstruction of the lamb stove.
Very true Sharon, I'd never rush her as it's sure to end in a bad decision..neither of us enjoy those kind of shopping trips, but it all worked out in the end.. 😉 Once I saw the footage of the lamb oven, I figured something special would be good in the music..so pleased you enjoyed it..it was an unrepeatable part of the tear down and came out well..lol 😁 Take care 😊🙏
Wow - amazing progress - I am really enjoying your video style too! That property of yours is so full of charm - it’s going to be stunning and well worth all the graft you are putting in now.💪👏😊
Thank you so much for the lovely comment..I'm so pleased you're enjoying the way I put things together.. Every now and then a bit of inspiration pays off, which is nice.. We'll get there with the property, eventually..the graft is there to be tackled, dotted in between the easier tasks, but it will make the changes all the sweeter knowing the effort that was put in.... 😉 Thanks again..take care 🙏❤️
Fantastic job mate, clearance of rubbish and rubble is a long back breaking job. Take plenty of photos and plenty of breaks!! Make sure you can get away to the mountains or the coast there is no hurry so don’t let the job overwhelm you. Put your mark on that special place.❤
Cheers Rog mate.! 👍 It was a long hard slog, but worth it for the space it released.. We've slowed the pace of things now to the point where some days we just potter and don't even get into work clothes...lol Loved the pics of your recent trip, BTW...what a fantastic itinerary you had..I bet it was amazing.. 😊 Take care my friend and safe travels to you.. 🙏❤️
It's back breaking, but worth it to see the progress in the end..when we can step back and say WOW ourselves is a good feeling, but then that's what wiped us out before.. Tamed things down a bit now 😊👍 Thanks for the encouragement 🙏💜
Lovely video Both ❤ so much extra room with all that moved. Amazing. Asking for a friend, is that wine still OK 😊 Mandee 😋 Fabulous one Both. Keep Loving the Adventure. Love and Big Hugs 💙😻💜
Thank you Asa mate.! It certainly gives us a lot more room..it was hard to judge when it was in place..lol Not sure on the wine 🤷🏻♂️ neither of us drink wine, so feel free to pop over and try it.. 🤔 Congratulations on your 1 year friendversary, by the way.. 👍😁 Love and Big Hugs back to you.! 💜😻💙
Wow all that mudbrick, well done - that must have been hard work. We like the contraption for the fire pit idea, will have to look around ours and see if we have anything like that. We've had our previous kitchens custom built by a joiner in the Yambol region, and may get him again at our new place if not too pricey. Really enjoying your lovely videos, thank you.
@@NewBulgarians thank you 🙏 the mudbrick seemed never ending at one point, that's why I stopped filming..lol The log burner base will make a great pit..can't wait til I get chance to try it out 😉🔥 I think we have the offer of a couple of kitchen units, but we've yet to see them or talk price, so we'll see.. 🤷🏻♂️ Take care guys and I hope you find a burner 😁👍💜
Thank you so much Melanie, we're glad you're enjoying following along.. The loom was totally unexpected..I'd not noticed it before when we'd peered around the room, although I'm not sure how I'd missed it.!! Hahaha!! 😂😂 Take care 🙏💜
It's hard to believe how big a pile of clay and rubble the oven turned into..that must have been hard work. You're doing a great job, both of you..keep up the good work 😊🙏❤❤
Wow such work going on. Shame a museum couldn’t take the oven, if you’d found one. It still would have taken months for them to take it out. It is however immortalised on film. I see Bulgarian window fitters are just like some of the ones round here… good luck with that.
I couldn't imagine taking the oven apart to reassemble it, Lucy...lol I think it probably evolved over the years anyway.. 🤷🏻♂️ Yeah the guy didn't even turn up to see what windows and doors we wanted, but we had alternatives, so all is good 😉👍♥️
Very hard work indeed Rich, but worth it in the end.. The wheelbarrow is a 1939 vintage, made from timber and angle ironit is so solid that it weighs nearly as much empty as when it's full.. (little known fact) 😂 ❤️
Wow your smashing through the work there!🎉 Practika doesn't have a mad range of stuff, but some of the towns have old school shops with fitting and what you would think of as a hardware store. Better prices too. Id have to agree about the kitchens. It's a bit different that the UK, but they do have them there, so got to be a place doing them. I really can't remember where I saw them when I was over.... In karaisen (kapanceh) there is a window/door place in the west of the village, they have a website and if you give them the measurements then you can have them made for you. Then you can collect and fit yourself. Things id do, tank the wet room, so any leaks dont damage the walls. Only need DPM. Rebar the wall, drill it rebar and then the chemical bond, then fill it. They just don't seem to get the wall tie thing. Also go above and check the wall plate, as this is where the walls are held in place. You'll need to check the grounds not moving too. Did I see new dg on the main house? Think our videos are out of sync.. Keep up the good work. Don't forget some time out to enjoy the area before winter sets in.😊
Indeed...I've been introduced to one or two village hardware shops recently and although they seem to vary in size and stock, they usually have a fair assortment to save going into a town 😉 We were advised that the two parts of the building were built separately, never tied together at any point and filling would suffice, so that's what was done. I'll keep the corner monitored and if I see further movement, then I'll go with tying it together instead. The double glazing on the main house porch has apparently been there for around 20 years, so yes you'll have seen it in other videos. With regards to footage, I try to keep everything in order as much as possible as it helps my head. The only downside to that way of filming is that some projects are ages between starting and finishing, but that's the way of things..lol The winter has set in this week..temperatures are down compared to three weeks ago and chunks of Bulgaria have had snow..we've just had cold weather and rain, so it feels like the UK..lolol 🤷🏻♂️😂 Take care 🙏
@LillaHusVanlife you sound like you work like me. Get the main jobs started, and hack through others. I did a project a few years ago, I had planned everything out in detail, I got on with the roof to find that the chimney top was, built special to say the least, three walls and a added wall with a bit of wood. So work had to stop to rebuild it. I tend to have a plan these days, but do what suits you. The walls don't ever seem to be tied, and I've seen big problems from it not being done. I wouldn't do a quick fix as you're more likely to have to go back to it again. 8 degrees this afternoon at 4, I haven't ventured out, but winter is here, and I can tell when the heat pump kicks in more often now. Roll on March. :) From what I gather in the time line, it looks like your looking to get the workers house finished before the big house. That means more tile shopping lol..
