I'm just stunned that the owner didn't break the sound barrier to get to her dog once she was told that it had been found. I certainly would have. This dog reminds me of my first poodle. She was a rescue and was matted to the skin. She had to be buzzed down to the skin like that, but when she grew out, she was GORGEOUS!
I lost my dog at an airport for a week once. They would call me every time they saw a bleep on the runway. He's 16 now and I have had since he was a wee pup. I was lost without him too.
My first dog was lost for a month and I thought that was awful. I can't image longer than that or how the human family felt or dealt with such a loss. I am VERY glad that they got their 4 legged family member back.
My cat ran away for like 8 days when we first moved to the city and ever since he came back he has never left the yard specifically he has never left where the porchlight touches.
That's nice but the harness is on backwards and she will lose the dog again. I am in rescue and have saved lots of dogs over the past 12 years and the one thing some don't understand is now to put a harness on a dog correctly. They can slip off if not secured correctly. One dog I got from an owner who put his harness on backwards, was run over by a car because he slipped out of it and ran away. It cost my rescue $2500 for surgery to save his life. All could have been avoided if she had just put it on correctly. :(
