When I was learning how to sing, there was a lot of emphasis on the diaphragm (the muscles that control the lungs from the bottom up); being hyperaware of this, I started experimenting with breathing and laughing with my belly, and realized that my laugh became louder, more genuine and *felt better*. It also started to make people around me laugh more. When I implemented the dutchavelli smile (Duchenne hahaha), OMG my serotonin levels through the roof! I'm so much eager to smile and enjoy, it is such a simple thing it's almost unbelievable.
I've put into practice a lot of your teachings, David, on my daily life, on my online classes (streaming to 140-160 people weekly, and growing!), even on my Dungeons and Dragons! Hahaha (My players asked me to stop describing food and beer so enticing because it made them hungry hahaha). I live in gratitude to you, your team and all you do!

I love laughing! When I moved my friends got stuffed animals with a recording of my laugh in it so they can always have it when I’m gone. One told me they play a game with it and their family now knows me as “laughing Julie” now 😆

This is something that I have found true in my own life. I have always had what a Chinese friend called a "low laughing point" meaning my threshold for laughing is low... Like really low. I laugh at anything and everything even if it is not classically "funny" and people have always received me well and opened up to me easily. I have seen people react well even to an airy awkward laugh when sharing somber things.

I would say that make people laugh is the best way to make friends. Especially if you share similar interest and sense of humour, it will work like magic. Even the most cryptic person will start opening up if you make them laugh first. Because hey, if you make them laugh, they will think that you're a nice person, and they wouldn't mind to share about themself to you. I became friends with some of my closest one with this trick, so yeah, it works :)

I don’t laugh at things that most humans do. I can laugh, given the right situation, and the right sort of humorous happening, but it is rare. I watch people sit down and watch a movie and laugh every 2 minutes, that can never be me. I don’t know that I’ve ever laughed while watching a movie. This sucks.
