Really bugs me how they messed up Hollyhock, she doesn't have a satisfying ending, we never find out what was in the letter and Bojack doesn't have the chance to fix things. Wakksberg set up Hollyhock to be a new important character at the end of season 4, but didn't know what to do with her afterwards.

Side characters are fleshed out and the protagonist is someone you're not gonna root for but love anyway. This is rare but this show ended perfectly. It was loyal to it's message to the very end. Life is not a TV show, there is no great conclusion at the end with fireworks cracking in the background. Life just goes. That's why show ended with no happy or very sad end. Bojack didn't find love, didn't find peace, didn't die, he just must live on like we all does. Perfect.
For me the perfect ending was episode 15 tbh. After The View From Halfway Down, the ending episode just felt out of context i guess. Sure, what you wrote is all true, but man the feels and the overall closure with the hearth monitor beeps from the credits just made the show kinda whole for me.

Secretariat regrets killing himself and cant find his peace before going into the blackness. This shows how bojack knows it wasnt the good way to go by killing himself in the pool. It shows that he eventually figures out that it is better to live on further to hopefully better yourself even if you still face more problems. Its just always better to keep going.

I just can’t explain how much bojack horseman has moved me in every way possible. I relate so much to him and it’s hurts watching that show but it’s the good kind of pain. The kind of pain that helps you geht through it.
This show really is phenomenal, the story is interesting, and fun and silly, but has those moments where it just sucker punches you. Most people relate to parts of every character, good parts and bad parts. It's introspective, and promotes positive emotional health/growth, even when we fuck up. Bojack horseman is truly a masterpiece

In a context where nothing, not even personal relationships worked for Bojack, he still managed to have a few good friends. Which is odd as he never went too long without being an ass to even them. But they'd overlook it and forgive him to some degree. It makes me think they were products of previous abusive relationships so it worked for them. Bojack did try to change, to be a good guy. But his path is too cemented as a jerk to be anything else. We were all products of this unending turmoil. As we found flaws in Bojack relatable in some form or another. Bojack wasn't a view on a perfect fantasy life. Rather a view of how fucked up it could be, making its way into a cartoon and animals.

S6 E15 was a masterpiece. Didn’t expect this show could reach such heights until I saw that episode.
