I bought a Kong XL for my mixed breed doggy. She's big and barks all day long. Some friends recommended me this toy because the idea is to keep her busy... hope it works! Now, I'm waiting for the delivery. :D
My dog picks his up and drops it down over and over until the treat pops out. Sometimes he keeps it in his mouth and tries to make it fall into his mouth while he's bobbing up and down. :)
My pitbulls are Kong killers. We bought them the black extreme series and in less than a week they were coming apart. I didn't expect my 8 month old pitbulls to be able to tear up the famous Kong extremes. Although I will admit the Kongs are the strongest toy I have yet found.
is the red one also bouncy? we've got the one for a puppy (for four year old pitbull-funny, i know), we don't use it as a stuffable toy, but as a throwing toy, because it bounces in all different angles and she goes crazy for it. it's getting a bit worn out though, so i wanted to get another, and i wonder whether to get this red one instead...
My black lab is the same way. I give my dog the black kong which is VERY durable and is made for aggressive chewers. My dog is passive aggressive towards his toys so it is fun to not have to buy new toys for him all the yime
The 7 month old, 9 pound MaltiPoo, aka "Beast Puppy", has just destroyed a small basic Kong. It wasn't new, but she has just completely bitten the top third off the toy.
@piepeace so what if they are. there are plenty of responsible and caring breeders out there. i for one am all for adopting from shelters but im simply saying there are good breeders out there.
Do Kongs make a lot of noise when dropped on a hard surface like a marble floor? We live in an apartment and the people living below us complain a lot about the ruckus made by Scooby. Please do tell, as I am planning to buy a Kong soon. :)
what kind of dog is he, he's adorable! I'm adopting one that looks identical to this dog just a little darker fur. I know it's a lab mix just don't know the other half.
I would like to make a complaint about the kong extreme. I bought it for my dog. Which is a staff cross whippet. And he destroyed the kong extreme in less than one day. I thought these things were meant to be tough ?
+MarPalushi_ I loved nylabone for my dogs but the problem is that if your dog digest a peice that's bigger than a grain on rice. then it might get trapped in your dog's intestines. And you can't go to the vet to get an x ray because nyla cannot be seen in a x ray.
+Angelica Camacho You should actually get the green or pink swirl Kong because it is made for puppy teeth and helps smooth gums so they don't eat your furniture
why? It loves it.. It is using its brain and get activated. And in the end it gets a snack... I feel sorry for you that you don't understand the dogs behavior :-)
We love seeing the condition of this toy after 3 whole years! We've had the same experience with ours, and we love it. Absolutely foolproof.

My half pit half boxer had a red kong for about 7 years before he bit through it. He now has a black one and it is doing just fine.
I have a large size kong classic and a german sheperd and it work , i also use to freeze the kong with food inside

I could watch your dog chew that toy for hours
Is that kong large or medium

They make Kongs in all different sizes. They even have a black one for massive chewers.
Does the dog ever actually get the treat or is it just a good teaser to keep the dog occupied?
+MizzFancie They work until they can get the treat out, as long as it's not impossible, which is good for mental stimulation, too.
+Michelle Merino thanks!

Its made out of some type of rubber. Its really tough so I guess it would make a thud type of noise. I don't think it would be too loud.

I think the one I'm getting is a lab pitbull mix because if the ears and tail. plus he has a muscular physique.
How long does it keep the dog occupied? Thanks!:)
I agree, they are pretty cool!

Try nylabone
I don't really recommend nylabone because they are not digestible. Though try deer antlers
+schleichlover56 wait whats wrong with nylabone i use it (as well as black kong)?

How long does this keep him occupied for ? Thanks
In that frame it looks like the dogs nails are just extended because its got its paw on the toy.
what size is that doggy kong? not sure what size to get my great dane puppy!!!
you should get the Kong extreme it means its very durable than most Kong's bet get the appropriate size for your puppy

Oh yeah for some reason I thought he was fully grown
What size is that one?
What a beautiful dog!
Strange how the red "normal" kongs seem to be tougher than the black "extreme" kongs, in my experience anyway!
What size is that Kong? ☺
it looks like a medium
Mines large
chuck norris' dog plays with king kong
my dog tries, then just walks away
Mine lasted a week before it was damaged and thrown out.
@TheJohnnybeez sure
@piepeace and I agree :)
Time to trim those nails lol
That is my experience too!
My dogs had there kong 2day
My dog play this without have nothing!

oh no! the kong is to small for your dog.. it's scary he might accidentally swallow the whole thing..
Your wife really has strong teeth to break two Kong toys like that!
this looks frustrating for the dog
Poor dog.. I feel sorry for him..
Wha
Sorry but "spit noise spit noise"
nine inch nails
my razor destroyed it in 15min waste of money.
So did mine.. I just posted a video on this thing.. Chewed up in minutes by my pit/lab mix
