Electric toothbrushes are nothing new, but you might wonder what could possibly make one cost so much. The DiamondClean toothbrushes by Philips are their top end models, and the main features involve connectivity via bluetooth to their app. This allows you to track which parts of your teeth you need to work on better, as well as sensors to detect pressure, and too much movement.

Its 3am. I have a test tomorrow. But here i am watching a dude review a toothbrush...
Champion Gundyr for me it’s 12:52 while I got a bunch of homework to do tomorrow
Highest level of procrastination 👍
How did your exam go?
How did you do on your test please respond
The dude is awesome and cute and he has great teeth. You made a good choice.
How to impress your friends at a sleepover
Lol
Lol 😂😂
Lol right
I have actually flexed at my friends and a lot of 9 year olds because I have this toothbrush!
Jonami Vlogs Lot of nine year olds stay with ya?
Best brand toothbrush ever. My hygienist recommended Sonicare in 1992. Over the years models have changed and improved. My dental cleaning visits only take 30 minutes because this brush really tackles plaque, buildup and stains like no other. My two kids have used Sonicare as well with the same results. If you care about your oral hygiene, you will love this brush. Oh yeah, my brush lasts on average 10 years!
*Did i just watch a 15 minute video about a toothbrush*
Theo 919 Teeth need L♡VE Too...
Yes yes you did 😂
A fuckin badass toothbrush tho lol best one on the planet
brah, it's 300 bucks, g'damn straight I'm watching a 15 min. video 😁
Knowledge is power
You continue to impress me! When I got the email saying you reviewed a toothbrush, I thought this was way out of your wheelhouse. Actually it was way out of MY wheelhouse not realizing that even brushing your teeth has become computerized. The act is the same but technology has greatly improved the equipment. However, For hundreds of dollars my Sonicare will still work just fine. You're still my favorite nerd keeping this 62 year old man in the loop with tech stuff! Thanks & keep up the good work as I look forward to your next vid!
Will it give me free WiFi?
i hope
No it will give you Bluetooth 😂
Should be able to watch UA-cam on it ....for $300
The most classic meme on the entire UA-cam
@OneAboveAll we dont want your coronavirus round here
Thanks James Franco for teaching me the way of the toothbrush
lol
Got this bad boy with 8 replacement brushes for $180 on Amazon on Cyber Monday 2019
I got it for 134 😜
I got it for free 🦦
Great video! I too had oral B and switched to Sonicare. Was having difficulty getting used to it. Thanks for this u-tube I now have a better understanding and the app is a great tool.
Seriously excellent review. Thanks, Joe! I know this review is from over two years ago, but I just now picked this brush up based on your review.
i never thought i would ever be watching a toothbrush review video lol
I have using my sonicare flexcare since 2013. I am happy with it so far and have been using generic brush heads with it to save a quick buck.
I bought this and looking forward to using it. I was a sonicare user for 15 years. In that time, I did not go to the dentist. I was forced to go eventually as I lsot an old filling, from childhood. I got a full check up and had zero cavities. Made the mistake some time thereafter of switching to an Oral-B. After 1 year of use, I have my first toothache in 25 years. Should never have switched.
Idk about you buy I only buy hands-free toothbrushes
owo
HA!!
I want white teeth, not bluetooth
grate
how do I get one for free, please make tutorial soon, and must be valid in india
I bought the $15 sonicare power-up and the diamond clean brush heads. When the alkaline batteries wore down, the brush head would really slow down. So, I started using Energizer ultimate lithium batteries. They give more consistent brush head speed for the entire life of the batteries. My other toothbrush is an Oral-B 1000 black edition that I got at Target. I find that the Oral-B cleans the tooth surfaces better and that the Sonicare is better for cleaning at the gum line.
My boyfriend bought me this toothbrush and I love it. My mouth has never felt so clean
Mouth has never felt so clean? Hello? Clue is in the name? Toothbrush?
Maybe he was hinting at something? 🙄🤔
Wow, wtf is wrong with these people. They must all be 12 year old boys.
@@indiesays lol ikr
@LAN Evo that how you talk to your parents, kid?
I love it!!!!! My mouth seriously has never felt cleaner after using this brush it's like I just came from the dentist every morning and night. I have had gum problems my whole life and this has made a huge difference for me. I also use a Waterpik to floss.
I used an Oral B electric toothbrush for years until now. Today my dentist recommended the Philips Sonicare to me. I have decreding gums and the teeth are very sensitive to cold food/drinks. She said the Oral B actually increases decreding gums because the brush head rotates and the "hair" is in different lengths so you always scrub away more on some parts of the teeth. Sonicare with soft brush heads is a lot more gentle on sensitive teeth!
Thank you so much for posting that. I used a sonicare brush for years and tried an Oral-B brush of the last two or three years and it seems that the Oral-B brush even harmed the enamel, and that is after I went in and disabled the strongest settings. $300 for something that can adjust extensively for various forms of sensitivity seems like an expensive composition, but it’s not when compared to $2000 crown/root canal treatment, $4000 Invisalign treatments or 10,000/$15,000 treatments for implants.
Thank you for mentioning the thing about the gums. That solidified my purchase for the brush. I had no idea Oral B did that to your gums. I hate to see what long term use of it would cause.
a 16-minute review and we haven't seen the toothbrush in action
nice 👍
Great video, Thio, very detailed and nicely explained!
Many thanks for your review. Very clear and comprehensive .
Very thorough review Joe. Thank you 🙏. Please keep up the fantastic and wonderfully professional video.
Worth every dollar 👌 wish everyone would take one home for sample I bet you'll save for one. Priorities 😁
Thanks for the great info. This was the best video I found for this toothbrush. Just bought the 9300.
Okay, Thio Joe: thank you for a very thorough review. I am reading this on Monday January 22nd 2019 so, you have had a bit over a year-and-a-half with the $300 toothbrush. Now, what I want to know, how are your check-ups? clesner? Less plaque? Does your mouth feel cleaner? Why not give us an update? Thank you.
how about a 2021 update
He cant give a new review since all the brush modes removed all his teeth
I purchased this about a week ago and my teeth feels like I left the dentist office every time I brush my teeth. I have noticed my teeth look and feel clean for the entire day.
My old one (8 years) suddenly got way loud and felt like a jackhammer in my hand. I think the shaft finally gave out and the vibration is no longer transferred to the head so I bought the classic one without the bells and whistles and has only one button for $175.00. Since using the sonicare diamond clean I have had excellent checkup results and my gums receded much less.
I have that toothbrush, I got it for a great deal at Kohls. It replaced my Sonicare Pro. I've had it since it came out. I just went to the dentist this week and the dentist said she couldn't tell I don't floss. The hygienist said it was the easiest cleaning she's done in years... and I only go to the dentist once a year
cjpitch people say $300 is a lot but in reality it's a good investment, I mean how can you replace theeth with something that feels and looks like the original?
no magic brush can replace flossing. You might full a dentist but long term you'll make her richer when periodontal disease starts to creep up suddenly.
I still floss after I use this brush and it does tell you on the ap to floss. However when I do floss I don't get much crap out from between my teeth. Sometimes when i thread it I don't get anything at all. When I used a manual brush I got lots of gunk out, so I can conclude that it takes care of the flossing for sure. However I still recommend you floss if you're serious about oral health.
Excuse me. How much did the deal cost you?
@@dcentral But the waterpik does replace flossing and I'm very thankful for that. Have always hated flossing my entire life and paid the price for it up to now.
Thank you. Appreciated your thoroughness. 👍🏻
Awsm review Thio! Keep it up! It actually looks pretty premium and luxurious. So... It'd be cool to have it.
Best in-depth review found so far.
Great review, was struggling to work out the differences in the models and this helped a lot. I think the should clear up the jargon in regards to these, I was in the market for one but it was so confusing trying to choose the right model I almost gave up! 😆
Just picked up the non-diamond edition model for $100 on clearance and I think it's really solid.
Purchased the Sonicare Diamond Clean 9700 model and the Sonicare Airfloss Ultra after my dentist stated if my gum health didn't improve, I would have to see a gum specialist. I was able to use a 20%-off store coupon plus the manufacturer's limited-time rebate which reduced the hit to my wallet. Besides, I figured buying the Diamond Clean and the Airfloss Ultra was cheaper than me seeing a gum specialist since I doubted my dental insurance was going to cover a specialist visit. I have a lot of crowns and it's difficult to clean all the nooks and crannies. After a month of using the Diamond Clean and the Airfloss my dentist was extremely impressed and wanted to know what I had done. A gum specialist visit was no longer needed so purchasing the Sonicare products were cheaper for me in the long run. The only downside is that they are not as quiet as I would like and my neighbor is annoyed at the noise (the apartment building I live in has very thin walls).
Thank you for detailed review! It is really help to make a choice.
Great video! Can you also use this device for 2 persons?
so this is the bugatti of the toothbrush
Yeah but it is not much better than the basic Philips one
HAHA no ROLLS ROYCE bro
True geek here🤓.... I was amazed when it told me it needed a firmware update... It does a great job cleaning your teeth too😬
I love this channel thank God I found it.
I've got this brush today its amazing brush doing great job
An excellent review!
good review thanks I am going to get one to replace Oral B but on the side - why is your face yellow?
I am currently deciding on two different Philips Sonicare toothbrushes.
1) Sonicare Series 2 Plague Defence
2) Sonicare Diamondclean
My main concern is, does the Diamondclean offer ANY superior cleaning ability to the Plague Defence?
I heard that the Diamondclean has issues within the warranty duration (2 years). Is this true and how does the Plague Defence compare in this aspect?
Hi Thio, hoping you can help me out. Is there such a thing or device that goes from DVI to USB? If so, where may I purchase or do you have one laying around? Thank you for your time! I love your videos!!! 🙏🏾👌🏾
im just watching this cuz i got it as a gift for my braces and didnt know its worth 300 bucks
Great video! I only wish the Sonicare would have allow you to change batteries. The way it is now, if your battery dies - you have to pay. $300 for a new brush. Bummer.
Purchased the Philips sonic tooth brush after my oral B quit working , and I swear it feels like I came out of the dentist after getting my teeth cleaned every time I use it .
I couldn’t justify the cost till I tried it, but no regrets here.
This may sound strange , but I purchased another oral B and use them both . First the sonic and then I follow with the oral B , as I find I like the small rotary head of the oral B in certain areas .
I’m probably going to wear the enamel right off my teeth lol
Great review
I just want to know how well it brushes the teeth 😫
Interesting summary, I learned how to use the app better - Thank you. I bought my Sonicare to avoid the parodist and a gum revision (check out that procedure and its cost). Through the app, I see I have been putting too much pressure causing the gums to recede. I just got the toothbrush and it works very well (same positive results as other reviewers). I like the app and, hopefully, can avoid the cost and pain of a gum transplant. Compared to a gum transplant, the toothbrush is inexpensive and much less painful (no pain with the toothbrush :}). Thank you ThioJoe, good review
Excellent video! Buying one from Costco ($130 off sale) and if I don't like it they have a fabulous return policy!
I bought the Oral-B Genius 9000 a few days ago!
Dawn Ripper is it good?
I have this Lunar Blue Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart (9700) toothbrush. I am in the United Kingdom. It cost me £202.49 (£269.99 minus 25 percent). It comes with three Premium brush heads, and one TongueCare+ head.
this things smacks i swear it’s good as hell
Any electric toothbrush especially a Phillips sonic care like 4100 or higher will save you thousands in dental charges compared to regular toothbrush. It will prevent cavities and help keep those cavities you have from
Becoming a root canal or worse until you can get them filled.
On brushing teeth its very important to rinse off the toothpaste as they have strong abrasives and sugars. Its also important to use a soft toothbrush and to brush the hidden parts like the back of teeth and gums
I always rinse with mouthwash after brushing
been using for a year. Its good.
You can find it on ebay for $169 to $179
Thank you for a great video. What are the signs to change the brush head ?
There's a little LED indicator on the brush that will light up when you start to use it, like a check engine light. On the brush you might notice some of the bristles start to fray.
I bought the DiamondClean 9000 which is almost the same, I really like it so far. Compared to this one how would you guys say it is comparing? Thank you
Does the case have an own battery oder does it only charge the toothbrush when u use the cable?😊
In the United Kingdom, the "Premium" brush heads are the ones with the chip in it that tells the toothbrush what mode it should be on for that brush head.
The bluetooth is kinda silly but I do like cordless toothbrushes. If Philips was really smart the brush would have a built in speaker to sing away your cavities
Are you still using this toothbrush? I'm curious to see if your thoughts on it changed after an extended period of use.
A $300 brush… Apple needs to see this. Brush Pro Max at $500
Hi im from sydney i just wondering theres no plastic standing charger coming withthe package just the glass only. :(
OMG I'll buy it today
Can you please give us an updated with this toothbrush because I am planning to this buy one. I want to know the quality and durability as well. Thank you so much.
Amazing toothbrush technology !
I just bought an El Toothbrush today.
Not a flagship like this one though.
Do we really need a tongue brush..?
i wonder whether this high-end model toothbrush can clean as well or better than the low-end 4100 model?
Will you do a video on the web browser Vivaldi at some point?
You can get these much cheaper at Wal-Mart. You can also get a much simpler version without all the silly features for between 15.00- 40.00. I go to the Dollar store and get 2-3 brushes. I could buy about 900 toothbrushes for what they want for this one. If I use 1 every 6 months they would last 37.5 years.
10:54 actually, i bought the 9300 years ago, and it did not come with a charging travel case, just the normal one. I tried getting a charging case separately but it didn't work (they're also hard to get separately as there are a few different kinds that don't always work with all the brushes). This is huge for me, the glass is very impractical even for something like a week long cottage trip or a weekend at my parents or smthg.
My dentist recommended this toothbrush, he said it was the best. I ordered it right after my appointment
Can you discern the difference at different mode?
I've been using Sonicare products forever, but the problem is that the mechanicals die over time. It's inevitable. Every one has had a span of about 2 years, tops. The QC used to be much higher. If you register the product the company is very good about replacing the handles, but it's a PITA. Therefore, instead of buying the best one, I've learned to get some midrange version that has just the features I need and nothing more, so I can spend as little as possible. It's the sonic action that you're looking for with the device. It's a toothbrush, after all. How much intelligence, artificial or otherwise, does it take to use effectively?
so which one do you get?
Agreed!
mulciberus I don’t know? I’ve had my E-Series for 12 years. It’s a workhorse but replacement heads are expensive.
Maybe only the mid-end mechanicals die over time?
Sean Brown Amazon reviews show a lot of complaints about the high-end models breaking after a few months
Doesn't even run Windows?
Lol
Runs on Windows CE ...
Its surprisingly an incredible tooth brush
Is the inlay of the charging case made of plastic or rubber?
I just bought a 15$ Oral-B and I love it gets the job done 😍
I like the circle heads on the oral b ALOT better.... The oral B always makes my mouth feel way cleaner after brushing!
This is a good review but I would've liked to have seen a demo of the different modes. I just bought this toothbrush today. Intuitively I expected, when you select a specific goal, that the toothbrush would automatically set up based on the goal you select. For instance, if you choose "Whitening goal" then the handle should indicate white and a certain level should be selected without you manually choosing those settings. This is something that would be very cool if based on your goal you choose the toothbrush would setup itself up to that mode.
Mark Ching mine is exactly like that , it’s a Philips but not this model. It’s solid
Does anyone know if there's a model that has all the features and quality of this, but without the bluetooth smart features? That's definitely something I can't see myself bothering with!
love your videos
I just ordered one this morning.
I own one and they work very well.
Dude thanks for the great breakdown. Costco is selling 2 brushes and chargers for $200
Not sure about how many heads
That one's not the 9700 but its still a bad ass deal
I have one, immediate improvement in my overall oral health, then, after a while my back molars started getting very sensitive, to the point where it would hurt eating a salad, or anything cool to cold for that matter, went back to a manual brush and the pain went away...imo it was a waste of money, just floss and brush every day and you won’t have anything to worry about.
Thanks for mentioning the issue with your molars. I’m a week into using my first electric toothbrush, the Oral B 7000, and I’m having an issue with one of my back molars so I was considering changing brands. So, maybe this issue is related to all electric toothbrushes.
How about durability of charger/battery?
came for the toothbrush, stayed for this guy
patiently waiting for smart floss
TurfWar google floss air gun
😂😂😂
Its waterpik ultra
ThioJoe It's like having your dentist watching how you brush your teeth#732.
$300 for something that can adjust extensively for various forms of sensitivity seems like an expensive composition, but it’s not when compared to $2000 crown/root canal treatment, $4000 Invisalign treatments or 10,000/$15,000 treatments for implants.
Do you think the sonicare is better than the oral b?
My Gloridea sonic toothbrush was only $16 and I feel like it does the job just fine.
OMG I had one of those lol... its junk. ZERO comparisons between the two other than they are both toothbrushes.
Thanks :)
Can it work with a glass at ASDA Morrison’s or something
Is this good for sore gums? My husband won't brush his teeth because he claims his gums are too sore, he has poop breath. This is a lot for me to spend but if I can get him to brush his teeth, it will be worth it.
So they got a toothbrush the price of a console?
Meanwhile i’m using a 1$ toothbrush..
Cleans your teeth just as well
@LloydBonafide1 yee
I've used this toothbrush and shit works. It's like a vibrator for your mouth. Hits all the right spots.
Yeah, most electric ones are a scam
@Cletus Spuckler study after study has shown that an electric toothbrush doesn't clean any better than a standard toothbrush when used correctly. The only thing an electric toothbrush does is make cleaning easier & also gives people a false sense of superiority of cleanliness over people who don't spend $100 on a vibrating brush.
But don't take my word for it, look up the studies for yourself.
Well i really wanna know if its good or not, i suck at brushing
Attention. This app from Philips has many negative comments. The application just doesn't work as it should ... It is not worth overpaying. It is better to buy sonicare diamond clean without application ..
