When you can tell a company is making a movie just for the money and has no passion behind it and didn’t even need to exist in the first place, the hate is justified. Disney has always phased in and out of how corporate they want to be and right now we are in that corporate phase and I see no end in sight.
Well as a mario fan, who got into sonic a little later. I'm glad that we're not backing down, from Disney and that we're going to push sonic past the 5 million dollar mark.
I don't even think Keanu is what made this movie popular. It was already very hyped long before Shadow's voice actor was even selected. Keanu Reeves is just the cherry on top.
I went to see the movie in the theatres twice so far with two different groups of friends, and only one of them was sort of familiar with the Sonic franchise in any way. Despite that, they all had a blast at the fight scenes and the beautiful heart touching moments. And i dont need to explain that as a Sonic fan this was the perfect movie we could have asked for. From the OST, to the references, to the action/fight scene, to the characterizations of the cast- this is THE Sonic movie for me.
That reminds when I saw barbie and super Mario bros movie. I'm not a fan of both franchise, sure I know who these characters are, but I haven't never played Mario and I wasn't a fan of doll. In both case I left the theatre with warming tears! Both movie were so cool. A good movie can attract also no fan
I went with my sister and nephew to see the movie. I'm a gamer and big Sonic fan myself, so it was just a bunch of easter eggs and nostalgia tripping for me just like the first two were. My nephew being just a kid had fun, but my sister was the surprise. She's not a gamer and knows nothing of Sonic other than he's some furry blue hedgehog video game character and nothing more. She's a hard conservative and doesn't like most modern media, but she LOVED this movie. In particular she enjoyed the positive messaging about making good choices and remaining a good person on the inside despite life's difficult experiences. If someone like her who normally hates almost everything on TV and movies can be brought on board with this movie, then ANYONE can enjoy this great piece of movie art. Disney is BONED!
Sonic: Come on, shadow, we got our next adventure ahead, so there is no time to was..... why do you look mad? Shadow: There is some weird ass realistic looking lion trying to prove he's the ultimate over there *gun cocks* i can shoot it right? Sonic: Nah, shadow the thing was dead on arrival. Do you really feel you should waste your bullets and power on it? Shadow: I suppose you are right. i didn't even see any trailers or previews about it, so I am not quite sure what it is.
It's still more or less the same story. Obviously some tweaks were made, and the setting was obviously changed from the Arc colony to earth based secret facility. They've even hinted at his origins with the Black Doom with the meteor he arrived in, rather than being created by Gerald with the help of the Black Doom.
idk which song live and learn was but man, I was so surprised when the "I always wanted a brotherrr" part actually sounded like that in the actual movie, like, I'd thought they'd just accidently messed up the trailers or smthn
I was walking out of a showing of Wicked and crossed paths with a family talking amongst themselves about how they were going to see Mufasa, and hoped it would be as great as the first. Those poor people… their faith in Disney surely went “bye bye” not long into the film. 😔
@ I’ve never seen it (and never will), but after hearing about the lyrics I just _had_ to look up the villain song. It’s actually a really solid song right up until “bye bye” ruins all tension and makes the villain sound like a child. xD
@@thatonepossum5766 Mufasa isn't a terrible film. It's not great, it's honestly a really solid script. The problems mostly come from the terrible voice cast (Raffiki, Timon, and Taka/Scar's voices are alright, but.. no one else's), the fact that this is a live action prequel to an animated film, and a lot of really horrible directorial choices The villain is someone who works on paper. He's a white lion kicked out of his pride for being an albino (which is believed to be a sign of weakness), so he makes his own pride of Albino Lions and tries to conquer the Pridelands, targeting Scar's pride because Mufasa killed his son. He even gets a scene where he establishes himself as a badass early on, and his minions are shown to be insanely efficient. But then he gets that "I MAKE YOU GO BYE-BYE!" song, and.... then anything scary about this character also goes "Bye bye!" - I will say there are some things the movie does very well, I have to give a lot of praise to how they present Raffiki's character in this. And Scar's "start of darkness" is actually subtlety built up throughout the film, his motivations (Being raised to believe that he is meant to be king only for Mufasa to steal his big coronation, unintentionally, but it's done none the less... Mufasa tries to play the sidekick and prevent himself from outshining Scar, but because Mufasa's too damn competent in the face of immediate danger; people keep ignoring Scar on principle.) This was an amazing script written by someone who genuinely cares about The Lion King, given to people who obviously don't care about movies as an art form at all. And that's kind of the saddest part of this. Mufasa didn't NEED to be a terrible movie, but a lot of bad decisions were made with a script that's genuinely great. I actually feel sorry for the screenwriter.
@@1Hol1Tiger yeah, I certainly wouldn’t claim it’s a terrible movie without seeing it, my main “will never watch it” thing is more on the principle, I hate the “live action” remakes (the Lion King “live action” are animated movies), they’re a total insult to the beautiful art form that is animation, and are often straight up worse than the original. So, I choose to not watch them, in hopes that they’ll finally stop being financially viable and Disney might start making good original stuff again. 😅
I have to admit, when I first saw Shadow in Sonic 2, I suddenly became my 14 year old fan girl self again and it carried on into this movie! Thank you, Sega and Paramount, for this love letter! 💌 🦔 🖤 ❤
The people spamming Shadow GIFs have this song playing in their head… “Try to reach inside of me… try to take my energy… let me show you just, what, I’m made of. Simple curiosity… try to take a bite of me… let me show you just, what, I’m, made of NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW!!!”
One thing similar I think paramount and disney have is they both remake the old nostalgia(Paramount: Sonic Adventure 2, Disney: The Lion King) But the difference is that both we performed differently, the Sonic 3 has a story that was based on the game, which is kind of an inspiration for the story. I really love how the story connects the previous movies' story so it could go in a sensible way. Haven't watched mufasa tho but based on most people, it's like cashgrab and boring movie. Some said the emotion didn't done well too
Everyone asking for Shadow to finally appear in the Sonic 3 movie. While no one asked for a Mufasa movie and less in live action. I'm really happy that SEGA is getting more successful by listening to the fans. As a Sonic fan, this makes me very happy! All Hail Shadow!
Even without the nostalgia angle, Sonic 3 has an objectively better message about grief and how revenge is never worth it. Mufasa basically teaches people they're justified in keeping grudges
When will Disney Live and Learn. OG Lion King was one of my favorite movies. That Live Action one was not good at all. 😂 You get me every time with that Aunt May (Mufasa/Sonic 3) GIF. Disney is so Salt over a Hedgehog and his friends. Keep rocking these videos, Krista. We Know who number 1 is. #TeamShadow #LiveandLearn
The Sonic movies have been better than anyone thought they would be. Each movie doing better than the last. I have to wonder where the next movie will go since (in my opinion) Sonic Adventure 2 was peak Sonic in terms of gameplay and story. I can only guess they'll do a loose adaptation of Sonic CD in the 4th installment but I'm not sure if it will be as good as Sonic 3.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 was to the Sonic fandom what TLK fans wanted the live-action movies to be. One studio listened to its audience and was praised, while the other became an activist and is only kept afloat by its classic content, which continues to bring the original audience back despite the subscription fee. Change my mind.
It also doesn't help that Disney is so salty about this, it's rumored that they want Sega to buy Sonic. To which... I'm sure Sega would be like... Sega: MAYBE if you started caring for your audience you wouldn't be this desperate. ALSO... Pathetic.
@@deltamachine343 just like how it's not surprising at all that Paramount Pictures is allegedly punishing smaller theater chains by pulling Sonic 3 just because they can't screen Gladiator 2.

I don't even understand what part of nostalgia Mufasa is supposed to appeal to. Sonic 3 has: Shadow. Fan service in the form of references and callbacks. Humour, drama, action. One Ok Rock. Mufasa has: Everything that tanked the first live action Lion King. Immature house of Mouse.
Mufasa did beat sonic worldwide, but not domestic. In North America Sonic won. I wish sonic would have won internationally too, they deserve it so much. Like let’s be real, you like sonic or not, a strong trilogy with 3 movies that are bangers is really rare. Disney is currently doing tons of sequels and more than half of these sequels are bad. Sonic managed to, hot take, make sequels better than their first film even if the first one was already good. The only good sequel we got recently from Disney is probably like inside out because outside of that one…

Disney has always phased in and out of how corporate they want to be and right now we are in that corporate phase and I see no end in sight.
If that's the case, then it's only a matter of time before their empire comes crashing down.
Doesn’t EVERY trailer use that “#1 Movie” line? Seriously, I hear it all the time!
What's the deal with that?! 😂😂
It’s like the “9/10 doctors recommended” line, only true from a certain superlative statistic but not reflective of collective reality
Pretty sure there's a law where we can sue them for false advertising
It’s funny because even my parents rolled their eyes about mufasa and thought he was scar 😂 (like a villain story)
When Sonic 3 is released internationally, Mufasa will get NEUTERED. ✂️✂️✂️
When will it be released internationally?
@@kvr0n248 , January, between the 1st and the 17th among various regions.
@@kvr0n248 I reciently saw it in the theather and I'm from Argentina, so I believe that they will release it on this month
Well as a mario fan, who got into sonic a little later. I'm glad that we're not backing down, from Disney and that we're going to push sonic past the 5 million dollar mark.
It’s not about becoming the number one movie in America or internationally it’s about sending a message
Ever Sonic fan to Disney: u need to LIVE AND LEARN....
YOU'RE OWN F***ING LESSON!
Disney Is Just mad that Keanu Reeves Made Sonic Movie 3 Very Popular, It's they're problem for being Ungrateful
He and Jim Carrey were a bonus this time. They're probably just upset Keanu turned down doing the Acolyte
@@thefiresworddragon927yea, Keanu made the right decision
I don't even think Keanu is what made this movie popular. It was already very hyped long before Shadow's voice actor was even selected. Keanu Reeves is just the cherry on top.
@lrrrrulerofomicronpersei8688 Ik I was just making a Theory
Let’s not forget the amount of Disney Adults that calling the sonic fans “sheep” ironic isn’t it?
The copium flows within the disney adult's veins
There are very few Disney Adults who still like CURRENT Disney. Most Disney adults are hoping for the old Disney to come back
Sonic: Come on, shadow, we got our next adventure ahead, so there is no time to was..... why do you look mad?
Shadow: There is some weird ass realistic looking lion trying to prove he's the ultimate over there *gun cocks* i can shoot it right?
Sonic: Nah, shadow the thing was dead on arrival. Do you really feel you should waste your bullets and power on it?
Shadow: I suppose you are right. i didn't even see any trailers or previews about it, so I am not quite sure what it is.
Disney is jus rlly bringing out their inner Eggman against Sonic right now lol
Sonic three was amazing I started crying with shadow's story even though they changed his story alot
It's still more or less the same story. Obviously some tweaks were made, and the setting was obviously changed from the Arc colony to earth based secret facility. They've even hinted at his origins with the Black Doom with the meteor he arrived in, rather than being created by Gerald with the help of the Black Doom.
Gotta Go Fast! Time to beat Disney.
What would you rather hear, "My brotha" 🤓, or "LIVE AND LEARN" 😎?
Taka sounded like British Gumball Watterson.
Live n Learn for sure
Live and Learn! Also All Hail Shadow!
I’d choose the third option: „I’VE COME TO MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT 🥚”
idk which song live and learn was but man, I was so surprised when the "I always wanted a brotherrr" part actually sounded like that in the actual movie, like, I'd thought they'd just accidently messed up the trailers or smthn
I was walking out of a showing of Wicked and crossed paths with a family talking amongst themselves about how they were going to see Mufasa, and hoped it would be as great as the first. Those poor people… their faith in Disney surely went “bye bye” not long into the film. 😔
That "I make you go bye-bye" song was the moment I stopped taking the movie seriously
The problems mostly come from the terrible voice cast (Raffiki, Timon, and Taka/Scar's voices are alright, but.. no one else's), the fact that this is a live action prequel to an animated film, and a lot of really horrible directorial choices
The villain is someone who works on paper.
But then he gets that "I MAKE YOU GO BYE-BYE!" song, and.... then anything scary about this character also goes "Bye bye!"
-
I will say there are some things the movie does very well, I have to give a lot of praise to how they present Raffiki's character in this. And Scar's "start of darkness" is actually subtlety built up throughout the film, his motivations (Being raised to believe that he is meant to be king only for Mufasa to steal his big coronation, unintentionally, but it's done none the less... Mufasa tries to play the sidekick and prevent himself from outshining Scar, but because Mufasa's too damn competent in the face of immediate danger; people keep ignoring Scar on principle.)
This was an amazing script written by someone who genuinely cares about The Lion King, given to people who obviously don't care about movies as an art form at all.
The people spamming Shadow GIFs have this song playing in their head…
“Try to reach inside of me…
try to take my energy…
let me show you just, what, I’m made of.
Simple curiosity…
try to take a bite of me…
let me show you just, what, I’m, made of NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW!!!”
That's what we'll have in our heads after Sonic 4 😉

One thing similar I think paramount and disney have is they both remake the old nostalgia(Paramount: Sonic Adventure 2, Disney: The Lion King)
But the difference is that both we performed differently, the Sonic 3 has a story that was based on the game, which is kind of an inspiration for the story. I really love how the story connects the previous movies' story so it could go in a sensible way. Haven't watched mufasa tho but based on most people, it's like cashgrab and boring movie. Some said the emotion didn't done well too
I never seen a movie so serious and so light hearted at the same time. It was magical.
Even Disney has a video game franchise they can make a movie about but I wouldn’t want them to ruin that! So glad Sonic beat them to a pulp.
Where's my water is barely a franchise. And it doesn't even have a story so they couldn't really ruin that.
The biggest wtf of Sonic 3 is the bigs decision to put it into streaming at the end of January
Makes no freaking sense
I don’t care if Sonic wins, after what happened at the golden globes, I just want Disney to lose.
Sonic: Great, just what I need. Another narcissist who wants to get rid of me
When will Disney Live and Learn.
They should take that Musafa movie and Throw it All Away. Sonic Adventure 2 reference!
@@autumn-f2d4i Yeah! Or else Sonic fans are really gonna show Disney just what we're made of
The Sonic movies have been better than anyone thought they would be.
Disney is so sad at this point no wonder theyre movie flopped so hard
Disney can go cry because Sonic reached a BILLION
"Damn Disney"
- Shadow the Hedgehog
disney needs to live and learn from their mistakes
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 was to the Sonic fandom what TLK fans wanted the live-action movies to be. One studio listened to its audience and was praised, while the other became an activist and is only kept afloat by its classic content, which continues to bring the original audience back despite the subscription fee.
Change my mind.
Disney has to realize, they're never gonna buy Paramount. Paramount wouldn't ruin its reputation to fans over any money
I might respect disney if they made a fucking decent Club Penguin movie. In other words, I’ll never respect disney.
Not a Sonic fan, but I'm ready to become one just to spite Disney
I just watched Sonic 1 and 2 for the first time. Watching Sonic 3 finally this weekend!!
Disney needs to learn to HAIL SHADOW
HEROES RISE AGAIN
It also doesn't help that Disney is so salty about this, it's rumored that they want Sega to buy Sonic. To which... I'm sure Sega would be like...
Sega: MAYBE if you started caring for your audience you wouldn't be this desperate. ALSO... Pathetic.
Giving the fans a movie nobody asked for.
Vs.
Giving the fans a movie they’ve been desperate for.
YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW HARD THE ENDING HIT ME 😭 I CAN'T BREATHE
This is double funny if you consider that yielding and saying "congrats Paramount, you best us this once!" would do wonders for their PR.
They PAID people to hide how much money Sonic made
The coping and conspiracy theories from you guys is wild!
Well, I don't know if that's true. I would need some proof. Although, it wouldn't surprise me if it was true.
@@deltamachine343 just like how it's not surprising at all that Paramount Pictures is allegedly punishing smaller theater chains by pulling Sonic 3 just because they can't screen Gladiator 2.
@@mikdan8813 by the way; Sonic 3 so far has made $210 million worldwide so far. $135 million of that is from the domestic markets in North America. So, no. Disney isn't paying anyone to hide how much Sonic 3 has made so far since any braindead imbecile or Sonic fanboy can find that out.
@@DeadmanInc336 what are you talking about? Didn't that movie came out on November?
This is like what happened with death battle in sonic vs mario.
They downscaled sonic quite a lot.
And disrespected everyone's braincells.
Paramount is proof that if you listen to the fans and give them your best, then the results will always be good.
So why is Paramount Pictures punishing smaller theater chains by pulling Sonic 3 just because they couldn't screen Gladiator 2? They do not have your best interest in mind at all.
It was nice that they changed Sonic to look better than he did at first, but even as a big fan of the games, the first Sonic wasn't for me.
@TGTK-FreeSpeech- That is why they have been trying to make each sequel better.
Mufasa had my Dad sleeping in theaters 😂 Sonic solos ❤
The Sonic movies and US Sonic fans are all WAY PAST COOL!!!! Let's keep this upward progression going and reach for the stars.
And just face it, Disney's just an enemy

The ending was way too good… 😂😂
When you can't help but follow, it puts you right back where you came.
Friendly reminder that GH1SLAINE MAXW3LL used to work at Disney! If you don’t know who that is, look it up.
Fact check: it’s true, there’s photos on Google. Wtf????? That’s actually scary that they let someone like that work there.
Shadow the Hedgehog: “Long live the king.”
Shadows the greatest character in the sonic franchise yet and the movie is so emotional and amazing
Godzilla Minus One and Sonic 3 showing Disney what’s good is forever hilarious.
The Sonic fans ain’t backing down
The day i watched sonic 3 my mom was suprised how a usually depressed and nagative looking person a movie about fast hedgehog could make me smile like a little child again through the entire movie i even cried when maria died and was exicted like a kid at every reference i reccomend it yall its so good :3

Saying their movie is #1 in America when their behind 18 million dollars in the domestic box office is just WRONG.
Disney is so braindead they refuse to accept sonic 3 is the true number 1 Christmas movie of 2024
But Disney grossed more on Christmas Day and that was what the post was about lmao
I don't even understand what part of nostalgia Mufasa is supposed to appeal to. Making a 'hyper-realistic' remake with uncanny valley talking animals of what was a charming animation with a distinct sense of art direction and style is the last thing that'd come to my head if i wanted to make something that appeals to people's childhoods and nostalgia. It's gross looking I'll never care how fancy and "cool" and "realistic" it is. JUST WHY. who tf is this actually FOR. also if it wasn't for them being bitter about sonic 3 and i wouldn't have even known their garbage movie came out

I feel like Disney is being run by dr. Eggman
Nah, Robotnik wouldn't hide a reply with himself in it. Dr. Starline 100%.
